Video shows a detained Ivor Caplin denying he’d said he was going to have sex with child – not the first Labour right-winger in similar circumstances
Blairite and pro-Israel former Hove MP Ivor Caplin – who was also chair of the so-called ‘Jewish Labour Movement’ (JLM), the group at the heart of the ‘Labour antisemitism’ smear campaign and re-formed specifically to fight Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the Labour party, has been arrested on suspicion of child sex offences after being detained during an anti-paedophile sting.
Caplin was filmed by the ‘STOP Stings UK’ group as he was held and confronted about his plans for the child he thought he was meeting – the Supreme Court has ruled such stings are admissible – and denied he knew the child was under-age or that he intended to have sex:
The sting group alleges that Caplin had turned up to meet a 15 year old boy after sexual grooming and sending sexual images.
Police have not named Caplin in the announcement of the subsequent arrest:

We are aware of footage circulating on social media showing a man in Brighton being detained on suspicion of engaging in online sexual communications with a child.
This is an ongoing and active investigation.
Just this week, Caplin re-shared a post on X that justified Keir Starmer’s move to block a public inquiry into child rape by describing it as ‘protecting children’:
During his tenure as JLM chair, Caplin was a full-throated advocate of Labour’s supposed and long-discredited ‘antisemitism problem’, blaming Corbyn for ‘losing the support of Jewish voters’:
Caplin also condemned Corbyn for daring to take part in a Passover seder with a left-wing, non-Zionist Jewish group:
Caplin also attacked left-wing former Labour MP Chris Williamson, a staunch opponent of Zionism, ironically accusing Williamson of conduct ‘unbecoming our great [Labour] party’:
And he smeared local Jewish left-winger Tony Greenstein, welcoming his expulsion from the Labour party, saying:
His continued membership is at complete odds with our collective values of solidarity, tolerance and respect… Despite the unacceptably long time it has taken to reach this conclusion, we are heartened that the party has sent out a clear message on this today.
Caplin is not the only such scandal among the pro-Israel Labour right. In 2023, Hackney right-winger Thomas Dewey was sentenced to just 150 hours community service despite admitting possessing pictures of child rape including torture and bestiality. Keir Starmer’s Labour allowed Dewey to stand as a candidate in local elections even after his arrest, locked Hackney women members out of the party’s systems to prevent them discussing the issue and threatened members with disciplinary sanctions if they tried to ask questions.
During Starmer’s tenure as head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the CPS also decided not to prosecute serial child rapist Jimmy Savile – and destroyed its records of who was involved in the decision.
Starmer also repeatedly covered up party staff whistleblower Elaina Cohen’s allegations of ‘sadistic’ and ‘criminal’ abuse, including sexual abuse, of vulnerable domestic violence victims by another party staffer. His appalling record toward women also includes sheltering two alleged sex pests in his Shadow Cabinet, taking no action against disgraced MP Chris Matheson after he was placed under investigation and ultimately found guilty by Parliament of sexual harassment. Matheson instead resigned after the finding.
Starmer also welcomed Bermondsey and Old Southwark MP Neil Coyle back into the party last year, despite Parliament finding Coyle guilty of at least one count of sexual harassment and of making racist remarks – and last week blocked demands for the abuse inquiry that would have put his time as head of the CPS under scrutiny and disclosure.

The worst part is, it wouldn’t even take much digging. Yet no journalist will go near it. The few that have tried to investigate Westminster nonsense groups (David Hencke for one) have been given a wide berth by the msm. Even private eye – of all publications- were dismissive of Hencke’s work IIRC.

You are right. First offences will get nothing more than a suspended even thou the maximun sentence for facilitating a child meet is 14 years and 2 years for sexual communication and 2 years for sending a child indecent inages. The sentencing guidelines council are ridiculous.
These groups operate the way they do for exposure which is the best sentence available. Caplin has had massive exposure so his life will be seriously disrupted. He will also be on the sex offenders register and have a sexual harm prevention order for at least 5 years.
Note his use of the phrase “our great party”. Who is the “we” that the “our” refers to? We see this slip-up quite a bit. It’s such a give-away, like the Zionists think they own the party!
