Britain’s first Black woman MP tells interviewer Starmeroids were ‘determined to get rid of me’ but ‘blinked first’ when she refused ‘deal’
Left-winger Diane Abbott, Britain’s first Black woman MP, has told ITV that Keir Starmer and his factional party machine were ‘determined to get rid of me’ – and tried to manoeuvre her out by offering a ‘deal’ that would see her restored to the party whip but only on condition that she announced her retirement the same day.
Abbott refused the ‘humiliating’ deal and the party – facing widespread disgust among Black voters – ‘blinked first’:
Labour delayed the results of its supposed ‘investigation’ into her perfectly accurate comments to a newspaper about anti-Black racism for at least five months, prolonging her suspension to almost a year, and clearly intended to use the suspension to prevent local Labour members from selecting her to stand as their candidate again – a tactic the party used repeatedly in the run-up to the general election to impose Starmer drones.
The Labour right’s endemic anti-Black and anti-Muslim racism has seen mass deselections of Black and Muslim candidates, while right-wingers even used malicious prosecutions to try to oust popular incumbents when internal smear campaigns failed.
One such targeted candidate, Apsana Begum, reported receiving no support from party leader Keir Starmer during her campaign, while party functionaries slunk away after her acquittal when they had hoped to announce her removal upon her conviction.
Abbott, similarly, told ITV’s Lorraine Kelly at the time she was targeted by a racist death threat that none of the party’s leaders, including Starmer, bothered even to contact her:
Starmer has also personally and repeatedly ignored a whistleblower’s reports of extreme exploitation and sexual abuse of Muslim women involving a party staffer and shut out Black and Muslim women from the party’s so-called ‘race equality’ launch.
Black women’s groups and Labour Muslim Network have condemned the party’s ingrained and protected racism under the Starmer regime.
