A remarkable image captured away from TV and press cameras during today’s commemoration of the Grenfell Tower tragedy speaks far more than a thousand words:
Corbyn’s simple act of natural, unembarrased solidarity and compassion – just one of many he has shown, largely in private, towards those whose lives were torn apart by the completely avoidable disaster, stands in such start contrast to the wooden and cowardly Theresa May that it is impossible to exaggerate.
The UK needs a human, humane leader able to connect with those in need and determined to change things for the better because he cares.
In the midst of a year of constant smears as the Establishment desperately tries to recover from its post-general election disarray and restore ‘business as usual’, Corbyn has not lost an ounce of what sets him apart – and inspired an unprecedented electoral surge.
An unscripted, human moment not meant to be captured cuts through a year’s worth of Establishment dishonesty.
