BBC changes headline to hide Starmer’s NHS anti-immigrant dog whistle

Media protecting Starmer in more ways than ‘blanket of silence’ over abuse of left-wing MPs and the ‘Labour Files’ revelations of rigging, racism and lies

On Sunday, Skwawkbox covered Keir Starmer’s appalling attack on NHS workers from other countries as he continues to try to appeal to the small-minded and racists – though he said he wants more foreign workers to come to work in factories making money for the wealthy and corporations.

And, as the ‘MSM Monitor’ Twitter account pointed out, it seems the BBC wanted to cover for Starmer and his xenophobia dog-whistle, because the broadcaster changed the headline on its article to make it appear less racist.

The BBC’s original headline noted Starmer’s opinion that the NHS is ‘recruiting too many people from overseas’ – which, as one critic put it, painted ‘a big target’ on the back of foreign workers on whom the NHS relies.

But after the uproar began, the headline changed in mid-afternoon to ‘Immigration not quick fix’ to the problems in the NHS:

This active covering-up of Starmer’s awful comments comes on top of the media’s general ‘blanket of silence’ about the party right’s foul abuse of Muslim and Black women MPs – and their determined ignoring of Al Jazeera’s revelations of the right’s years of unpunished racism, rigging, smears and misogyny.

Skwawkbox view:

The Establishment knows Starmer presents no threat whatever to elite interests – he has repeatedly made that clear. The media’s soft-soaping and even active cover-up of his misdeeds reflects the fact that he will make no meaningful changes to the UK’s corruption and inequality.

  1. Aye, I believe his appearance on BBC Scotland, threw the SNP into disarray.

They, alongside everyone else, were left scratching their heids, wondering what the hidden message was, in Starmer’s interview.

Turns out there wasn’t one. It was only Starmer making a bo*locks of, yet, one more chance to impress the Scottish Electorate.

He did make an impression, but not in a good way.

May I suggest Anas Sarwar gives Mark Drakeford a call, to find out what Welsh Labour are doing right.

    1. Clearly a pannick measure by starmer to the working class fascist vote.Theres the message “IF you hate foreigners especially dark ones” jim il fix it “Starmers your man to go to.
Much like his days at the DPP hes your man to go to for shady bent deals..Dont fund these parasites infecting the labour party top to bottom…!One tory government is too far, mixed with labour party fascism is a step too far.

Still at it I see Joseph
Your message which you repeat ad nauseum is absolutely clear – All Left members should stop ” feeding the parasites” resign from Labour in order to make it easy for the Right to deselect MPs like Ian Byrne. Thanks but no Thanks Joseph

      2. Still breaking wind Smarmboy?I cannot see many people taking you seriously whilst you continue to fund fascism and denegrate genuine socialists that have left the labour party.with crocodile tears and tantrums…!

      3. Yeah Joe – this from you – the man who called Blair’s New Labour “Real Labour” That tells us all we need to know about your “socialism” so just put a sock in it. Your endless calls for the Left to resign from Labour is so transparent and so tedious .

      4. Smarmyboy…..Real labour “now you are just telling porkys”plain lies and fibs and I am sure posters will not agree with your comments when you cant win the argument you resort to lies and character assassination
.What the hells up with you taking pot shots at posters that are true left whilst you fund the fascist labour party.and pretend that you can actually help by funding this fascist endeavour. .Have the last comments because I am sick and tired of your silly criticism of individuals posters who get your knickers in a twist.and fill the pages with your poor me bile …

Before I put myself to the bother of looking up your comments about New Labour and cutting and pasting them maybe you should consider withdrawing your allegation that I am lying – you will save yourself a lot of embarrassment.

  2. But immigration IS a quick fix for the NHS staff shortages and, like most quick fixes, unravels in ways that exacerbate the problem: poaching health workers from other countries and thereby impoverishing their own healthcare systems is not morally defensible. Why, given the long-standing shortages in the NHS, has the UK continued to resist training more doctors and nurses, even if successive governments and wannabee governments have thrown around promises of recruiting tens of thousands more of both? As with many other sectors, the argument for the economic benefit of immigration is evident BUT realistically it is probably cost-neutral if you are to actually commit to the uplift in infrastructure such immigration necessitates – schools, roads, hospitals etc. As this other side of the equation is not addressed, such shortfalls are easily exploited in times of hardship, with notions of “full up”, “overcrowded” etc presented as pragmatism rather than the prejudice that is their real root.
I have no faith in the will or intellect of Starmer to navigate through the issue of immigration beyond a carefully calibrated appeal for votes that is content to pander to the worst of people rather than aspiring to higher goals.

  3. “Synchronised” as in ‘synchronised MSM’

What’s going on here? The MSM are ‘coordinated and ‘combined with’ something else. Something powerful:
“Among many similar globalist states, The UK State is a public-private partnership between government, financial institutions, multinational corporations, global think tanks, and well funded third sector organisations, such as so called non governmental organisations (NGO’s) and large international charities.

“Through a labyrinthine structure of direct funding, grant making and philanthropy, the UK State is a cohesive globalist organisation that works with selected academics, scientific institutions and mainstream media (MSM) outlets to advance a tightly controlled, predetermined narrative. This designed consensus serves the the interests and global ambitions of a tiny group of disproportionately wealthy people.

“This group of parasites, often misleadingly referred to as the “elite,” exploit all humanity for their own gain and to consolidate and enhance their power. They control the money supply and the global debt, which is a debt owed to them.

“Human beings are forced to pay tax which, via government procurement, flows directly to the private corporations they own. War, security, infrastructure projects, education and health care provide profits and are used by the parasite class to socially engineer society.

“Globally, they fund all political parties, with any realistic chance of gaining power, they own the MSM and spend billions lobbying policy makers.” (source)

This is “Organised Wealth” – or as Jeremy Corbyn (and Percy Bysshe Shelley) called it “The Few” (as opposed to “the Many”). THERE IS ONLY ONE FORCE ON EARTH THAT ORGANISED WEALTH FEARS, AND THAT IS ORGANISED LABOUR.

    Solidarity Ian Byrne.

  4. What a gobshite.

The reason plenty voted for brexit was because wages for factory workers – including the highly-skilled were being diminished by companies going to agencies exclusively hiring foreign workers at cheaper rates.

Oh, I forgot. Keefs’ a brexiteer himself now, isn’t he? He’s gone further right than falange & co, now we’re out the EU, and he’s been handed the reins by his puppet masters.

Never used to be the case. Brexit wasn’t even gonna happen on HIS watch.

But, then again…“Nowhere does that say renationalisation”. 😙🎶

  5. Keir Starmer is disgusting but the cover up of this fact by the state broadcaster should surprise nobody – remember we are talking about the BBC here. They wouldn’t recognise truthful impartial reporting if it jumped up and bit them.

  6. Much as I hate Starmer’s guts, I believe that it is unethical to poach medically trained staff from poorer countries who probably need them more. We should be sorting out our own problems on training and retention, and not telling NHS staff who campaign for higher wages to leave, we’ll import more (as Therese Coffrey recently did).

    1. Yes Tony but don’t forget it was Jeremy Corbyn that Kuenssberg maligned so that made it OK. Anyway even though she clearly delighted in criticising and belittling Jeremy (and has since been well rewarded for it) she was just doing the bidding of her bosses at the BBC who along with the Establishment and the Zionists worked tirelessly to destroy Jeremy Corbyn and the Socialist revival he inspired and led.
