GB News releases a very short clip of old interview with right-wing Labour MP that just happens to include a mention of his brother’s residence
As news of racism allegations against Neil Coyle finally percolate into the media – after Keir Starmer eventually took action over one of several complaints about him and withdrew the Labour whip – it was the hard right station GB News that sprang to Coyle’s defence.
Starmer acted today, ten days after the alleged events involved in the complaint – and only after the victim, a young political journalist, published an article about them – and only an hour or so after news of the withdrawn whip broke, GB News was publishing a 31-second clip of an interview it did with the MP last autumn. Despite its brevity, the clip includes mention of Coyle’s mental health issues – and of the fact that ‘one of my brothers lives in China’:
Of course, having a brother living in China has no more bearing on someone can express anti-Chinese racism than having a brother with a black girlfriend exempts someone from anti-black racism.
The intervention, unsurprisingly, did not go down well, receiving only a tiny handful of ‘retweets’ but almost uniformly scathing responses, of which a few are shown below:
Starmer may have acted now under the glare of a public spotlight on Neil Coyle’s alleged behaviour toward British-Chinese journalist Henry Dyer, but he has ignored for at least seven months complaints by three leading Jewish members of the party about Coyle last year smearing left-wing Jews as ‘communists’ – a longstanding antisemitic libel – and calling for the party’s main left-wing Jewish group, JVL, to be expelled en masse, despite the members writing directly to him with their complaint after the party complaints department did nothing.
Allegations of antisemitism by other right-wing Labour MPs have also been ignored or else dismissed by Starmer as requiring no action, despite his claims of a ‘zero tolerance’ approach.

Toffee – I am however struggling to understand how anyone could ever justify Mike Hill being re-instated by Corbyn.
Mike Hill was suspended from the Labour Party in September 2019 over allegations of sexual harassment, but reinstated just a few weeks later in October 2019.
Then on the 16 March 2021, as his day of reckoning in front of the employment tribunal approached, Hill announced his resignation with immediate effect.
The sexual misconduct claims were considered by the Central London Employment Tribunal in May 2021. The claimant alleged that Hill used a staffing review as a pretext for making her redundant after she had rejected his sexual advances. In July 2021, the tribunal in delivering its decision held that Hill had assaulted, harassed and victimised a parliamentary worker and it upheld claims of “detrimental treatment”.
And keef hasn’t even bothered to investigate multiple of claims of racism, nevermind antisemitism.

So are we to take it that you were OK with Corbyn bringing the party into disrepute re-instating Mike Hill.
Neil Coyne has essentially been an object of worship among the Labour Right- he was the one who happened to regain Bermondsey for Labour, a generation after their political ancestors made sure that Peter Tatchell lost it in a landslide simply for being left-wing and gay and having successfully deselected the essentially fascist Bob Mellish. The same people did all they could, in whatever ways they could, to make sure Labour didn’t take Bermondsey back until they could impose the nomination of a Coyle, a candidate who if anything is to the right of Mellish.
Coyle is meant to be the model for Starmer’s notion of the ideal Labour candidate- nastier, more hateful and more combative towards his own party’s core supporters and Left activists by a factor of a million than he has ever been or could ever to the Tories.
Starmer hated having to inflict any punishment on Coyle at all, because Coyle is doing what Keir thinks Labour candidates MUST do- treat his own party and its modern, multicultural, multiracial, essentially radical face far worse than he has ever treated the party of wealth and privilege he is meant to be trying to oust.
If Starmer really has his way, Coyle will get a life peerage after the next GE, shortly before Keir resigns in defeat and humiliation.

It appears that its not only Starmer who’s ignored the complaints by Jeffrey Bindman and others regarding Coyles antisemitism and his call for JVL members to be expelled. MSM have decided to ignore that point too.

Disciplining Coyle must have really grated with keef. Never mind. Re those pote ntially vacant seats, I wonder if Labour Brand has become too toxic to be of any positive use, or if it will need to be resurrected without those right-wing bods under a different name.
