Exclusive: S*n hacks ‘allowed into Labour conference’ in Liverpool

Party does not deny reports from attendees and insiders that ‘Scum’ ‘journalists’ given credentials for event – while left-wing Jewish woman excluded – just after Starmer promised ‘Hillsborough law’ to try to mollify Merseysiders disgusted by betrayal

Keir Starmer told Scousers that he would not talk to the ‘Scum’ during his leadership campaign then went on to write for it. Now insiders say its hacks are in the party’s Liverpool conference

Keir Starmer’s Labour has credentialled ‘journalists’ from the Murdoch S*n for its party conference – in Liverpool, the city where the rag is almost 100% boycotted because of its decades-long lies about the victims and survivors of the Hillsborough disaster, according to Labour insiders and conference attendees.

During his shamelessly deceptive campaign to become party leader, Starmer told an audience in Liverpool that he would not talk to the rag known locally as ‘the Scum’, but slipped in that it would only apply to the leadership campaign. He then went on to write for the rag, said he would do so again – as did members of his front bench – and his party machine allowed its hacks access to last year’s annual conference in Brighton.

Yet Starmer appears to have hoped to mollify locals before this year’s conference in Liverpool, promising just before the event that a Hillsborough law – a bill to force public authorities to be honest and open about such disasters and to ensure families and victims have fully-funded ‘parity of legal representation’ at inquests and inquiries – would be his first priority if he is ever elected as Prime Minister.

But such ‘made to be broken‘ Starmer promises cannot quite cover up the reality of the Labour right’s contempt for the people of Liverpool and its surrounds or their eagerness to court the favour of the Murdoch press – and party insiders and conference attendees have told Skwawkbox that Labour has accredited S*n hacks to attend the party’s conference in the very city they spent decades smearing. At the same time, Labour today denied entrance to the event to a left-wing Jewish woman and elected representative of party members.

Skwawkbox contacted Labour by phone and email to invite the party to deny the reports if it could, or if not then to comment on why it was allowing representatives of the despised rag to attend its conference. At the time of writing, more than two hours after the press deadline for a response, the party has not responded.

The news is likely to trigger protests at the venue or swell those already planned.
