Leading Rabbi and scholar co-signs letter condemning attacks on Corbyn

‘Gaon’ – ‘genius’ Rabbi Elyakim Schlesinger joins UOHC Chief Rabbi Padwa

One of the leading Orthodox Rabbis – considered a ‘gaon’ or genius among Charedi Jews – has co-signed Rabbi Ephraim Padwa’s letter condemning attacks on Labour Jeremy Corbyn:

Nonagenarian ‘Gaon’ Rabbi Elyakim Schlesinger is the eldest Rabbi and a renowned Rosh Yeshivah. He is an international authority and serves as the President of the Committee for the Preservation of Jewish Cemeteries in Europe.

He has today co-signed the letter written by Rabbi Ephraim Padwa, the head of the Union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations in denouncing attacks on Corbyn, which the letter describes as ‘irresponsible actions’.

Corbyn’s opponents attempted to dismiss the letter, claiming Rabbi Padwa was not competent to sign. However, witnesses have gone on record to testify that he was fully aware of what he was signing.

An earlier letter signed by thirty-four leading rabbis was similarly attacked, until the media were eventually forced to admit its authenticity.

None of the letters have received significant coverage from the ‘mainstream’ media.
