Sunday Mirror claims front-page ‘exclusive’ on Johnson outburst – 16 days after SKWAWKBOX broke it

Latest of many cases of ‘MSM’ taking credit for SKWAWKBOX exclusives
The Sunday Mirror’s front page ‘exclusive’ this morning

Late on Saturday, the Daily Mirror’s Twitter account ‘broke’ what it claimed was an ‘exclusive’ appearing as the Sunday Mirror’s main front-page item – an outrageous rant by likely next Prime Minister Boris Johnson against the families of the fifty-two victims of the 7 July 2005 London terrorist attacks.

The exclusive was, in fact, broken more than two weeks earlier by the SKWAWKBOX:

The SKWAWKBOX responded to the Mirror to suggest that it remove its false ‘exclusive’ claim from the article:

More than six hours later the claim is still in place.

This is far from the first time the so-called ‘mainstream’ media have taken news first broken here and claimed it as their own – in spite of labelling the SKWAWKBOX as ‘fake news’ when it suits them.

The Times has been the chief culprit, taking stories on Tom Watson’s conference tantrums, events among his West Midlands allies, the Enfield ‘coup‘ exclusives – and, probably most notoriously, this blog’s revelations about the ‘white-shirted man’ who assaulted protesters at a Jacob Rees-Mogg event:

The Guardian claimed an exclusive on revelations about former UKIP leaders Nigel Farage Paul Nuttall – a month after they broke here – and the whole mainstream media estate began to run Nuttall’s Hillsborough embarrassment after the SKWAWKBOX revealed it.

Of course, even more frequently the SKWAWKBOX has needed to publish exclusives to correct false mainstream news and narratives. But in the above cases – and again this weekend – the ‘MSM’ have published for profit ‘exclusives’ that the SKWAWKBOX brought its readers for free.

And like the others, the Mirror has failed to correct its claim even after its error was pointed out.

    1. Didn’t he hold US citizenship until recently? I recall Uncle Sam asking him to pay a lot of tax . It seems that he may have been a US citizen when he took class A drugs. Probably best if both the UK and USA bang him up for the offence just to be on the safe side.

  1. ‘Neo-Liberal Barbarians they prattle.
    As Boris runneth he away?
Thus the swivell eyed pretend to be human.
Neo-Liberalism dies;,its dregs have much to say.’

  2. So the message seems to be, “If you’re waiting for worms to grow spines, don’t hold your breath.”
    Or something.

  3. So I saw a clip of the ‘debate’ and no, of course I didn’t watch the whole 90 stupid minutes.
Five little mice preening their whiskers and leaking piss while they bicker over the poisoned cheese and a sixth hides behind the skirting board scared of his own shadow.
    I’d almost rather have Major ̶o̶r̶ ̶H̶a̶g̶u̶e̶.

  4. No such thing as ‘investigative journalism’ in MSM, Journalists are fraudsters whose sources are as suspect as their integrity. The prime source of MSM is other MSM, but also Social Media; but they also enjoy stories being sent to them via PR companies & News Organisations. No sole leather is ever expended in the search for truth! Comment & opinion replace facts as the function of MSM is to manufacture public consent for dominant ideologies.

  5. This is called ‘churnalism’ .

The BBC used to re-produce press releases from the Taxpayers’ Alliance without verification or without revealing the true, hard right, nature of the organisation.
