The winter crisis continues to expose the extent of under-resourcing of the NHS by a government many believe wants to see it collapse in order to accelerate its replacement by an insurance-based system – that Theresa May refused to deny when asked.
Some supporters of the NHS have reported a sense of paralysis, feeling overwhelmed by the scale of the problem and unsure what to do to help the NHS survive until a Labour government can save it.
An NHS GP has published six steps that those who want to help the NHS can take to do so:
1. @Jeremy_Hunt and @NHSEngland propose allowing private companies to take control of our health & care services. Fund our fight to get proper consultation, parliamentary scrutiny and respect for the law here (deadline this Sunday): https://t.co/aT1bPJ5GQu

2. The @nhsbillnow was tabled by @MGreenwoodWW, and is backed by 40 Labour MPs. Ask your MP to also demonstrate their support publicly for the NHS Reinstatement Bill here:https://t.co/O96ewxAlU5

3. Support @drbobgill’s new documentary, "THE GREAT NHS HEIST", by funding it here (all donators will be credited in the film):https://t.co/jJ3pAYxFEz

4. Junior doctors must be free to speak openly about safety and the NHS. Fund whistleblower @drcmday’s legal case here:https://t.co/hMt2w2ZLDi

5. Keep abreast of developments by subscribing to @AllysonPollock’s newsletter, Professor of Public Health and leading authority on NHS privatisation here:https://t.co/cJ8tJrnSs1

These steps are by no means comprehensive, but they’re an important way in which those who want to defend the NHS can start to get involved in a substantial way. Please follow them and share widely.

This article should be spread far and wide to garner as much support as possible. I believe that 2018 is a critical year for the NHS where Accountable Care Organisations will begin to take hold across England and 8 STP footprints (regions) have already been fast tracked for their introduction in April this year which will be the beginning of the end for our precious NHS and the introduction of an insurance based American style 2 tier health care system. We have to do more before it’s too late and supporting these wonderful high profile campaigners is one way (Christine Lightbody – Co-founder of IOW Save Our NHS working in alliance with SKNOP (Southampton) in the name of Hants & IOW Defend Our NHS) Thank you Skwawkbox for all your brilliant work
This is great I will share everywhere I can. Tina
