Labour welcomes ‘unhinged’ anti-refugee Tory MP Elphicke

MP’s disgraceful comments on refugees no bar to a Keir Starmer embrace -nor is voting to keep poor children hungry

Labour has rolled out the red carpet to welcome yet another right-wing Tory MP – Dover and Deal’s Natalie Elphicke – with a prominent ‘welcome’ tweet to announce Elphicke’s defection from the Conservative party.

Elphicke has a disgraceful record of anti-immigrant commentary, so will fit right into Keir Starmer’s red Tory outfit, as several people have observed with varying degrees of humour:

Starmer’s faction of the party – now almost all that remains – is rotten with Islamophobia, anti-Black and anti-Gypsy racism and falls over itself in its haste to expel or suspend any left-winger, especially those of the ‘wrong’ skin colour. But white MPs from the even more openly racist version of the Tory party can look forward, including recent defector Dan Poulter, who voted to keep poor children hungry, to a celebration of their confirmation that the only material difference between the two main parties is rosette colour.

  1. Kinell…

How long until the “star prize” (de piffle) is welcomed with open arms?

But they’re NOT REALLY toerags, are they, wee gobshite?

    Jesus wept.

    1. Nah, Jonathan Gullies, next. Opportunity knocks while the doors this wide open.

30p Lee may even have second thoughts about Reform, and decide to come ‘home’ to Labour.

Y’never know with this shower of sh*t.

      1. Keef hasn’t got a pot to piss in, so leeanderthal will be a definite no-no. Not that keef’d refuse him, mind.

Gullet, though…More of a probability than a possibility. Keef’d fancy him as a hard man/enforcer type (don’t laugh…they once called weirdo ed balls that – no, honestly!! ).

Christ, it’d be hilarious if it wasn’t so sickening and half-expected.

      2. George, unfortunately, your half jest might actually have a serious side to it. What could emerge from moist nests in the dark and feel that there is a safe place for them to infest. These are dangerous times and it will definitely change what’s left of the Labour Party forever. I would like to know the reasons that people give when interviewed for membership. How low is the bar, is there a bar. Ye, socialists and funnily hued are exempt. Oh and our Jewish, Islamic brothers and sisters will not be admitted or those that are in will be expelled. The Labour Party is a racist fascist Party. Any socialist should refuse the whip and noble mass by elections. The clock is ticking and this stuff leads to wars. Am I the only one whose feelers are twitching?

  2. And who /what next?

    elphicke’s (ex?) husband…the sex-offending, self-proclaimed naughty tory??

    …As minister for women?

I wouldn’t rule it out. Look what bliar did with maggot hodge 😒

      1. Mike hill…Mike hill…Mike hill.

        THOMAS F***ING DEWEY.

        JIMMY BASTARD SAVILE.

AND MANY OTHERS. NOW BUTTON IT.

      2. Toffee – Oh dear, you’re desperation is showing again.

The difference is that neither the Labour Party nor Hackney Council were aware of Dewey’s arrest until several days after he’d been elected when the police finally got around to informing Hackney Council officials and that they took immediate steps to force him to resign.
As for Savile, it has been established that Keir Starmer had no involvement with the Savile case and that Keir quickly implemented in full the recommendations of the inquiry that he constituted. Even Savile’s victims and their lawyers (who I’m guessing are considerably better informed than you are) praised Starmer for the actions that he took to ensure that these errors wouldn’t be repeated.
Whereas in Mike Hill’s case the Labour Party at the time facilitated his re-election by re-instating the Labour whip despite knowing that he was still under investigation for sexual misconduct.

        The cases simply aren’t comparable.

      3. Shove ypur excuses, nonce case.

Keef allowed the nonce to resign rather than dismiss him from the party.. Case closed

Keef didn’t prosecute savile. Case closed.

Keef didnt prosecute damien green. Case closed.

Keef resigned/b> on the very same day the met said grant shapps dealings may have constituted FRAUD Case closed.

        Nonce protector. Toerag protector..

        Case closed.

      4. Shove ypur excuses, nonce case.
        Not excuses, facts and evidence

“Keef allowed the nonce to resign rather than dismiss him from the party.. Case closed”
I was referring to Dewey’s resigning his newly won council seat

“Keef didn’t prosecute savile. Case closed.”
Already dealt with above and in detail on numerous previous occasions with links to the enquiry reports and contemporary news reports. If you’d bothered to read them you would out of respect for the victims stop repeating this nonsense.

“Keef didnt prosecute damien green. Case closed”
Was there sufficient evidence to prosecute him, it appears not
“Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer was asked to look at claims that Mr Galley had committed misconduct in public office and that Mr Green had aided, abetted, counselled or procured such an offence.
In his statement, he said there was a “high threshold before criminal proceedings can properly be brought”, and that he had considered the “freedom of the press to publish information and ideas on matters of public interest”.
He added: “I have concluded that the information leaked was not secret information or information affecting national security.”
There was “insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction against Mr Galley or Mr Green”.
But Mr Starmer also said there was “evidence upon which a jury might find that there was damage to the proper functioning of the Home Office” which “should not be underestimated”.
He said he had taken press freedom into account and that it had to be “recognised that some damage to the proper functioning of public institutions is almost inevitable in every case where restricted and/or confidential information is leaked”.

Sounds like a measured decision to me, do you have any actual evidence that contradicts this?

Keef resigned on the very same day the met said grant shapps dealings may have constituted FRAUD Case closed.
Are you having a laugh? Keir Starmer stepped down from his post as DPP after completing his 5yr term in office. To pretend that this had anything to do with Grant Shapps is ludicrous. Even you must appreciate that to have commenced the prosecution of a senior politician on his last day in office would have been irresponsible. Grant Shapps was for his successor to deal with.

        Nonce protector. Toerag protector..Case closed.
You don’t seem to have much of a case left, but unless you are really stupid you knew that already didn’t you?

      5. You’ve had your arse handed to you on several previous occasions regarding the cases I’ve brought up but here we go AGAIN….

The idea that green’s case didn’t meet the high threshold when green did the EXACT SAME as what keef wants Assange dead for, is beyond fucking risible.

The idea that because it was keef’s last day on the job makes it ok that a potential fraudster was more-or-less granted an amnesty is even more pathetic.

And here’s ANOTHER FACT for ya, nonce defender.

Because of the sentencing guidelines that KEEF implemented, the disgusting paedophile dewey (Who keef allowed to resign rather than dismiss altogether – like that rochdale parliamentary candidate who’s ‘crime’ was to tell the truth about the Israeli genocide) only got a 12 months suspended sentence, so is free to walk the streets.

Keef thinks it’s ok for pederasts to walk the streets, but blames anyone & everyone bar himself. Horrible, hypocritical nonce defender even makes posters blaming others for his own negligence and incompetence.

        inescapable FACT

      6. Toffee – I’m quite happy for others to make up their own minds about how misguided you are. 😲

      7. Oh, I completely agree.

And when I get castigated for being a complete cretin as often and by as many posters as you do, I’ll at least have the common decency and self-awareness to get the message, throw my hand in, and cease to post on here.

Except that’s as likely to happen as keef turning down an approach from yer another far-right toerag….Let alone you posting any criticism of him for it – or any of his other examples of gobshitery.

  3. Just when you think Starmer can’t sink any lower, he manages to do so. The likes of Corbyn and Abbott cast into the wilderness, yet accepts Elphicke and says some ***** about her ‘sharing Labour values’.

Even in comments in The Guardian where there is normally a lot of support for Starmer, there is a lot of criticism today and many people have said they will not now vote Labour under any circumstances. I think Starmer may have totally miscalculated….

Meanwhile, I see that Kate Osamor has had the whip restored today. Why on earth didn’t she tell Starmer to shove it where the sun don’t shine…

      1. She’s already said she won’t be standing again, which makes it all the more strange. I’m not going to waste much time thinking about her – or Labour’s – motives.

A wild guess, though. It’s a childish opportunity to embarrass Sunak and The Tories.

Meantime, in Palestine. Meantime, in homeless shelters and food banks all over the country…

    1. Julia, good post but I am not sure about the miscalculation bit. I feel that it is the start of something vile. Thanks for the news about Kate but I think she should resign. But people know what I feel about Gaza and remaining in the party.

    2. Exes, being feted as a rebel who always backed u no who, seeched, lectures. Don’t know but she is apparently standing down. Why? Could have been a secret back door SCGer. Could have been a lone voice in the wilderness? Dunno anything anymore.

  4. Makes it easier for Independents to create clear Red water between the cheap and nasty Tory parties, there’s at least 3

    1. Just taking an opportunity to post. It’s easier to vent ones spleen elsewhere. Besides I might get a like and can then write about it I’m my padlocked ledger alongside two or three others. Where are we gonna post when this thread is but a memory?

  5. Point of Order
Israel wants any Ceasefire to include their right to return to the bombing
So no change since 1948 then, for the Apartheid, Racist, Genocidal, Terrorist state

    1. Its worse than that Doug and not limited to Israel:

      https://caitlinjohnstone.com.au/2024/05/09/empire-managers-explain-why-this-new-protest-movement-scares-them/

“The US secretary of state and a Bilderberg surveillance tech oligarch have both made some very interesting admissions about the burgeoning protest movement against the US-backed slaughter in Gaza and the problems it poses for the empire they help run.

During a vitriolic rant about university demonstrators at the Ash Carter Exchange on Innovation and National Security on Tuesday, Palantir CEO Alex Karp*came right out and said that if those on the side of the protesters win the debate on this issue, the west will lose the ability to wage wars.:

The quote – not from (The) Putin; not from Russia; not from China; not from Iran:

“We think these things that are happening across college campuses are a sideshow. No, they are the show.”

“If we lose the intellectual debate, you will not be able to deploy any army in the West, ever.”#Palantir CEO Alex Karp at #SCSPAIExpo2024 pic.twitter.com/MwQoDlSMFw
      — Palantir (@PalantirTech) May 8, 2024

That’s how empire managers talk…. because that’s how they think about everything.

They understand that whoever controls the narrative controls the world.”

And that’s why those who buy into this fascism constantly and desperately seek to shore up that narrative at every level. Its why every alternative information source has its resident troll pushing The official Narrative.

*”For those who don’t know, Palantir is a CIA-backed surveillance and data mining tech company with intimate ties to both the US intelligence cartel and to Israel, playing a crucial role in both the US empire’s sprawling surveillance network and Israeli atrocities against Palestinians. Karp is a billionaire who sits on the Steering Committee of the Bilderberg Group and regularly features at the World Economic Forum and other platforms of plutocratic empire management.”

      1. Thanks Dave. It’s like something from a dark Bond film. The octopus of evil!

    2. Doug, short and to the point. The murder goes on and they are just moving the targets for clearer shots. Ta.

  6. Labour are a fucking joke. THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER FOR GG,s W/P I wonder how many more will cross over if they think their cushy job is on the line kier will greet them with open arms

    1. Elphicke has already announced that she won’t be standing in the next general election.

Mike Tapp, Labour’s PPC for her Dover and Deal constituency, remains in place as Labour’s candidate

      1. So?

Keef’s slaughtered another fatted calf. For what? Just shows he’ll have just about fucking anyone …including opportunists and NONCES….as long as they’ll kiss his ring, metaphorically and most likely physically.

And as long as they’re readily prepared to see kids go hungry.

        Bunch of degenerates.

      2. Toffee – So whatever her reasoning is, (which is anyone’s guess) it isn’t an attempt to secure her Dover constituency at the next GE.

      3. Oh DO shut the fuck up, for total fucks sake.

The tell us genius- just WHAT purpose does it serve, hmmm?

And I suppose you believe the greasy twunt and his acolytes when they claim elphicke HASN’T been promised a peerage.

The fact is, she’s been made welcome with the fucking flags out (and it even had one wrapped around its neck ffs) .

        …With that record.

        Beneath contempt.

      4. Toffee – You are more than welcome to come back and tell me ‘I told you so’ in the very unlikely event that you are proved right.

  7. Not before time. Here’s some good news

U.S. Stalls Weapons Shipment to Israel in Bid to Stop Rafah Offensive
Biden administration says it is concerned about how the weapons would be used in urban areas of Gaza
In its clearest public rebuke to date of Israel’s war in Gaza, the White House said it has halted a shipment of bombs to Israel and is reviewing other proposed arms deals, hoping to force Israel to rethink its military assault on Rafah.

    Better late than never

      1. Steve lives in a time zone that may not be of this Earth. It takes many hours for some news stories to reach him…

      2. The gobshite lives in a time zone where reality never reaches him the nonce-defending sicko.

    1. Applying your own peculiar ‘logic’ Billy it is more than reasonable for readers to conclude from this post that you – what’s that word again? Ah yes! – “support” what some people, possibly even yourself?, regard as the “theocratic”/”authoritarian”/”fascist” “Regime” of Iran.

Thanks for clearing that up for us all.

      1. Dave – Thanks for this insight into the level of your intellect

      2. This was an insight into the level of your “intellect” Billy.

The “intellect” which argues without any substantiating evidence that pointing out the rights of Russian speaking people to self defence from attacks by neo nazis armed by minority Western elites and the rights of other sovereign states to the same rights to security as the USA demands of itself is tantamount to “supporting” “Putin”; “Russia”; “China”; “Iran”.

The fact that you now inadvertently concede that your own unsubstantiated argument and position on the above misrepresentation and repeated nonsense is incorrect when your own argument is used in the same way in relation to something you have written is clear for all to see.

Of course, the alternative – which everyone here is expecting – is for you to come out with your usual exceptionalist bluster by wanting to have it both ways.

It won’t wash Billy. You’ve been hoisted by your own petard.

      3. Dave – The only bluster I’ve seen on this page originated from either you or your friend.

      4. Irrelevant Billy.

Everyone reading this exchange will note you do not contest the point.

    2. Meanwhile, in the real world:

‘A hospital in Deir Al Balah in central Gaza said it received 24 bodies, and reports of the heaviest assault are in the central and eastern areas of the southern Gaza city of Rafah, with air strikes in the south and the vicinity of the Rafah crossing.’

“On Friday, UNICEF’s senior emergency coordinator in the Gaza Strip, Hamish Young, said from Rafah that in his 30 years working on large-scale humanitarian emergencies “I’ve never been involved in a situation as devastating, complex or erratic as this.”

He said. “Families lack proper sanitation facilities, drinking water and shelter.”

‘For five days, no fuel and virtually no humanitarian aid has entered the Gaza Strip. Soon, the lack of fuel will stop humanitarian operations. Food in the south will run out in the coming days. The last functioning bakery in the south is about to run out of fuel, while people are being forced to move again, lifesaving supplies that sustain and support them have been entirely cut off.’

‘More than 34,000 people have died in Gaza. Cindy McCain, the director of the World Food Program has said that parts of the Gaza Strip are experiencing a “full-blown famine.” As of mid-April, Gazan health officials said that at least 28 children younger than 12 had died from malnutrition in hospitals and perhaps dozens more outside medical centers.’

‘The Rafah crossing remains closed, and had been an important gate for injured and sick people to leave the enclave to receive medical treatment abroad. The Gazan Health Ministry has said that dozens of people with illnesses such as breast cancer and lymphoma have been unable to leave Gaza since Sunday.’

      ————————————————–

Anyone who seriously entertains the fiction – peddled above – of The Official Narrative that the US is stopping weapons shipments to Israel for humanitarian reasons rather than because it is in reality low on its inventory and needs what little remain in stock for Project Ukraine is suffering from terminal gullibility.

      1. The GIs especially special forces have shown little delight in going down the tunnels in support of their two passport buddies. I think the supremacist roars of USA, USA are done via semaphore. Austin and his assistants appear to have entered into a hard dietary program, I don’t think it’s because of the bombing.

  8. The Guardian’s live blog also tells us, “… at his post-PMQs briefing, Starmer’s spokesperson would not rule out Labour letting Nigel Farage join the party.” HAHAHAHAHAAHA

What is this? A competition to see which party can become the least electable?!!

    1. The Wikipedia updaters are doing well too … here’s a good bit!
“Reflecting on the defection, Steve Baker, the Minister of State, Northern Ireland, commented on Twitter: “I have been searching in vain for a Conservative MP who thinks themself to the right of Natalie Elphicke. One just quipped, ‘I didn’t realise there was any room to her right.’.”

      1. I can only think of one scenario in which the “likelihood” of any MP, never mind a Blue Tory, being to the right of Natalie Elphicke could possibly occur.

However, such a scenario would require someone to move from their present (alleged) abode and be successful in standing for and winning a Parliamentary seat.

Although, given the appallingly low standards bar for being a non left wing MP these days the odds are not that insurmountable in this scenario.

    2. JulirT first post. That’s a joke isn’t it. Say it ain’t so.

    1. Starner the nonce protector

      Starmer the tory protector/welcomer

      Starmer the kid starver

      Starmer the genocide enabler/excuser/supporter

Starmer the utter fucking toerag slimeball.

      1. Toffee, don’t hold back. There’s more, I rely on you and often quote you in my letters, vellum and Parker, to my remaining comrades. He must not be allowed to sit in comfort. He must squirm constantly till the iota of conscience is shaken free. Oh god it will be a Trots concience.

  9. Starmer and Sunak ….
As George Galloway MP says: “TWO CHEEKS OF THE SAME ARSE”

  10. When you talk of a hung Parliament you should not forget the 27 Socialist Labour MP’s who could effectively hold the balance of power if its that close, say a Majority of 26
Warms the auld cockles thinking about it

    1. Doug – Thankfully the polls are still predicting that Labour will win the next general election with a very substantial majority so it is looking increasingly unlikely that what you have described will be an issue.

      1. And such an eventuality – in a context in which the largest block of voting with their feet votes will likely approach, possibly even exceed?, twenty million for non of the above – will make precisely what difference to the rapidly deteriorating situation the Country is in?

The last thing those of us having to put up with this unworkable authoritarian shit show of a There Is No Alternative paradigm is more ignorant football terrace level discourse from those who (allegedly) don’t have to suffer from it.

      2. Dave – ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Your rather odd recent obsession with football is lost on me, I have zero interest in the game.

      3. Dave – Thanks for your kind help but I already knew what a metaphor is. My problem is that I can’t relate to the metaphor that you have used. The only time that I have ever been to a football stadium is to attend a pop concert.

      4. The blatant clue, Billy, is in the term ‘level”.

ie. The level of your discourse and narrative is that of the football terrace. Which is a function of your very obvious low cognitive ‘abilities’.

Which is why you need everything explaining in Janet and John terms.

That holds regardless of the irrelevancy of whether or not you are interested in any kind of sport or have attended any kind of sporting event.

On your showing on this site you would be a natural among the neanderthal knuckle dragger’s in the Chelsea Headhunters.

      5. ……Besides which Billy, once again you fail miserably to address the actual point.

Choosing instead to distract with irrelevancies.

There’s no shame in admitting that addressing any substantive issue is beyond your capabilities.

After all, that fact has been obvious to readers of this site for a considerable amount of time. However, it is hardly surprising you have not sussed that out for yourself.

      6. Well! ‘I’ll go to’t foot of our stairs!’

        Another Billy no show.

        Who would’ve thought?

      7. Dave – ….and the reason that you think that I am beholden to you in any way, particularly before 8am on a Sunday morning is?

      8. Again, missing the point Billy.

We all have a responsibility to the truth and to be congruent with reality – regardless of what time of day it is.

You might want to try it sometime. It will be a completely novel experience for you.

  11. I wonder why this is happening. Cant help but think of the Lenin quote “the best way to control the opposition is to pead it ourselves”. Starting with starmer

  12. All over people changing their votes
    Along with their overcoats
If Adolf Hitler flew in today
    They’d send a limousine anyway

  13. The last thing those of us having to put up with this unworkable authoritarian shit show of a There Is No Alternative paradigm is more ignorant football terrace level discourse from those who (allegedly) don’t have to suffer from it.

To which the suggestion has already been: “If you don’t like it, leave”

I hear the Caribbean’s nice. And apparently they have t’interweb there, so you can pontificate to those left behind to suffer.

    Jus’ sayin’ 😙🎶

    1. “To which the suggestion has already been: “If you don’t like it, leave””

Why should anyone have to leave their home, family, and environment because a bunch of psychopathic wankers and their cheerleaders want to piss on the values they claim to uphold and the majority of normal people who actually try to uphold and maintain those values?

That is not the way to remove the parasitic cancer which is dragging us all down.

      1. Why should anyone have to leave their home, family, and environment because a bunch of psychopathic wankers and their cheerleaders want to piss on the values they claim to uphold and the majority of normal people who actually try to uphold and maintain those values?

(My apologies that there isn’t a sarcasm font).

Firstly, nobody had to leave. He chose to, apparently.

Second, the psychopathic wanker & cheerleader is pissing all over the values he claims – and we do our best – to uphold. And he says he does it from the Caribbean, where he’s insulated from the shite that we (who are left behind) are drowning in.

And finally, the way to stop these parasitic wankers – primarily – is to continually deconstruct their cheerleaders’ non-arguments, while depriving the wankers themselves of funding and electoral support.

      2. On which note here is a classic example of the state of matters under TINA:

        https://levantis.me/2024/05/04/ian-proud-uk-sanctions-on-russia-are-futile-at-best/

These tossers have to convene an actual committee to determine the bleedin’ obvious. In this case the bleedin’ obvious fact that sanctioning individuals and entities which have no assets either in the UK or the Collective West is a completely meaningless virtue signalling gesture.

Sanctions don’t work. No shit Sherlock’s. You don’t need to waste time effort and resources with a committee to figure that out or why.

No wonder nothing works in a sustained practical sense because practical reality has been jettisoned in favour of the kind of fantasy narratives on display everywhere.

    2. They love footy in the Carribean. Good at it as well thankfully for us.

      1. They used to be shit hot at cricket.

Now, at least on this site, their (alleged) star batsman is out for a duck every time he appears at the crease.

  14. So confirmed then – Labour under Starmer is now a Right Wing Nationalist Party.

  15. Toxic Red Tories would not be welcome in the One Nation Conservative Party
Geordie Galloway describes himself as Socially Conservative wtf
Farage got 2 million votes and no seats
    Democracy broken
Time for every vote to count and any number of Batshit candidates or Parties standing and being tested in the White Heat of a General Election and a more consensual Parliament
    RIP FPTP

  16. I’m STILL waiting to hear what the resident genius has to tell us about the purpose of allowing elthick into the smarmerist labour party he still supports.

While he’s at it, he may as well convince us as to why we should vote for it.

    So, wee gobshite:

    Vote smarmerist = get toerags

Correct? If not, WHY not? C’mon, it must be all of about two posts since you last gave us all reason to ridicule you, and I’m gettin fairly strung out.

    1. Toffee – I’m not bothered about admitting that I don’t know what the thinking was around Elphicke, why would I? But given that we already know that she won’t be standing at the upcoming election I’m struggling to see what all the fuss is about.
She’ll be gone and forgotten in just a few months at the most.

Two things here…maybe more, but it sounds good enough for me.

Firstly, the fact you’ve furtively sneaked back to the thread on the dead of night to post your craven reply halfway down a thread shows your arse has gone. You have nothing and have always brought a fart to a shit fight.

Secondly, for all your bluff n bluster about the subject you finally admit you haven’t the foggiest about keef’s thinking.

….We already knew that. We always have done – on every topic you post about

Third (I mentioned there might be more)

You have nothing to say about this non-paid advisory role** that elthick will be taking up in the keef administration he thinks he’ll be getting…

Given the harridan’s voting record on housing (as well as everything else), in just what direction you think it will steer keef?

Again, not a mention of things like these, that’s again despite your constant bluff and know-it-all bluster you’re now scurrying from and hiding halfway down an old(er) thread.

You’re a shithouse, thoroughly devoid of the convictions you pretend to espouse, but repeatedly demonstrate that they are conditional.

**Non-paid advisory role MY ARSE AND EVERYONE ELSE’S. Toerags don’t even accept a free lunch for free, and AFAIC there’s no fucking way she wed that rapist for his (supposed) ‘good looks and charm’ alone. If charlie elthick’s this prize catch’s based only on those two attributes she reckons he has, then I’m a f***ing Adonis – albeit a skint one.

  17. Francesca Newton sums up this whole shit-show quite succinctly in Tribune:

    The Tory Dustbin

Characterised by the mainstream media as earthquakes, what these defections actually prove is the incredibly narrow parameters of political activity allowed in Britain today. The electorate is desperate for real solutions to the cost of living crisis, the unfolding environmental disaster, the wars igniting around us, and the collapse of the NHS, but anyone who threatens to offer them is decried by opponents and in the press unserious and unelectable, and voters encouraged to focus on the representatives of grown-up politics instead: austerity and imperialism with a blue tie, or austerity and imperialism with a red.

The recent trajectory of the Labour Party into which Elphicke, Poulter, and Wakeford are arriving is evidence of this limiting process in action. Recognising that the ruling class was losing its faith in a chaotic Tory Party to defend its interests effectively, Starmer has garnered its trust by proving his preparedness to change or simply jettison his values as required. Starmer suspended Corbyn after campaigning for him to be prime minister and then reneged on a deal to readmit him to the party; Starmer abandoned his own pledges upon winning the leadership and has U-turned on every vaguely progressive policy proposal since. The only consistent principle has been hostility to the Left: that’s how you end up with a situation in which those who have spent five or ten years denouncing everything Labour says or does can be welcomed, but socialists like Diane Abbott and Jeremy Corbyn — not to mention all those leftists blocked from standing as Labour candidates for infractions as small as liking a Carole Lucas tweet — must remain in the cold. [My bold]

    1. Steady now PW. Presenting factual evidenced based argument that contradicts The Official Narrative will be viewed as an “essay.”

  18. austerity and imperialism with a blue tie, or austerity and imperialism with a red.

And yet there’s the photo of keef welcoming elthick – complete with a red, white and blue (union flag, by the looks) neckerchief, looking (and acting) like some psychotic, over-the-hill, promotion-denied BA stewardess, who delights in ‘accidentally’ spilling hot drinks or foodstuffs on the people in “cattle-class” because she never got to serve those who turn left when they board.

And keef, looking every bit the (inept) pilot who neither knows how to fly the bleedin’ plane, nor the destination it’s headed to; just grateful that he’ll have someone – anyone – on board.

    1. *Sincerest apologies to BA stewardesses everywhere. I know you don’t all spill food & drink on your passengers deliberately.

It’s just that bleedin’ outfit elthick had on. Especially the neck scarf thing.

      1. Wasn’t that wanker, who dolled himself up in union Jack’s at every game and test a flag waving, cough, done for disservice to our youngsters? Flag wavers are very odd.

  19. Given the statements by Starmer and Dodds for Elphicke’s move to Labour, it seems that there is a case for arguing that Starmer is transforming Labour into a centrist party – a National Labour Party, aka MacDonald in 1931. Such an analogy only takes us so far but it serves to focus on the ongoing transformation of the party.

  20. All of this reminds me of the disgust of a Christian
Minister about politics in the US – the following
is borrowed from one of his dry comments:

A: “Yes – if Beelzebub applied to join the Labour Party he would
    be accepted ..”

Q: “So what about Diane Abbott or Jeremy Corbyn?”

    A: “Certainly not!”

  21. From Mike Sivier on Vox Political:

Now We Know Why Natalie Elphicke Defected To Labour And It Isn’t Good

Elphicke has said she has common ground with Labour because she has campaigned for rent freezes and against homelessness.

But just one look at her voting record on housing and we see a very different picture – one in which she stands shoulder-to-shoulder with all other Conservative MPs.

She has consistently voted* – with all other Conservative MPs – against stronger planning laws. These included allowing additional homes to be built on top of existing blocks of flats without planning permission, and allowing English public bodies to ignore Local Nature Recovery Strategies (which This Writer believes means allowing houses to be built on flood plains).

She has consistently voted to allow landlords to pass on the cost of building safety works that are required by law, including fire safety, to leaseholders.

And she has consistently voted against stronger fire safety measures, including a decision not to create the Building Works Agency which would have been charged with administering a programme of cladding remediation and other building safety works – this clearly seems to be a response to the Grenfell Tower fire; she would allow more people to die in the same way, apparently.

I do not see any information showing that her advisory role will be restricted to rent freezes and homelessness – and indeed I do not see any information showing expertise in those areas.

I must conclude that Ms Elphicke has joined Labour to impose Conservative policies on that party.

    https://voxpoliticalonline.com/2024/05/09/now-we-know-why-natalie-elphicke-defected-to-labour-and-it-isnt-good/

    1. “I must conclude that Ms Elphicke has joined Labour to impose Conservative policies on that party.”

She’s too late. That horse bolted a long time ago.

      1. Dave Hansell,

        Last year Starmer declared this….

“Labour are the real conservatives, says Keir Starmer as he promises to protect ‘our way of life’
Labour leader will argue against redistribution alone, promising to change his party’s ‘DNA’ like Tony Blair ‘on steroids”

He does what he says, I’ll give him that. Until he makes a pledge that is…..

      2. Question is, baz2001, just whose “way of life” is Herr Starmer talking about here?

Because he also on record as prioritising the elite globalist WEF project – ‘you will own nothing and be happy’ (which, given the ravings of Yuval Noah Harari (Klaus Scwabb’s ‘intellectual’ guru) really means ‘you will own nothing because you will all cease to be allowed to exist’.) – over Westminster. ie the sovereign nation state.

If you think the Davos harpie 720 degree Baerbock is a disaster wait till the wassock Starmer is installed running the first eleven.

  22. Doesn’t really matter what elthick previously voted for/against. She’s now a perpetual abstainer under keef’s orders.

They expect us to vote for them, but when push comes to shove, they refuse to vote themselves, more often than not because keef says so. That’s on the rare occasions when he’s not publicly backing the ‘rags.

Even the footballer elthick has previously criticised has provided more opposition to the ‘rags than keef in his four plus years…. And keef despicably tried to claim the credit for young rashford’s sterling efforts in getting them to reconsider.

There is entirely NO point of the smarmerist labour party.

      1. On which note, this well known quote is apt in the present zeitgeist:

“We liberated Europe from fascism, but they will never forgive us for it.”

        – Marshall Zhukov

And the Western oligarch elite, along with their useless idiot cheerleader puppets, have been proving Zhukov right ever since.

      2. Dave – Here’s a quote that is far more apt today than one from scores of years ago.

“Vladimir Putin is not a communist. Vladimir Putin is not even a leftist. Vladimir Putin is a fascist imperialist.”

      3. Even some Blue Tories are capable of recognising reality over the fantasy Official Narrative:

        https://www.politico.eu/article/dominic-cummings-volodymyr-zelenskyy-ukraine-war-corruption/

“This whole Ukrainian corrupt mafia state has basically conned us all and we’re all going to get f**ked as a consequence. We are getting f**ked now right?”

        – Dominic Cummings

““What lesson have we taught him? The lesson we’ve taught Putin is that we’re a bunch of total f**king jokers,” Cummings asserted, saying the war had “broadcast it to the entire world what a bunch of clowns we are.””

In other “news” (***SARCASM ALERT***SARCASM ALERT***SARCASM ALERT***)*:

Wikipedia rushes out new page portraying Politico as “(The) Putin Propaganda” outlet, pushing “disinformation” and “fake news”.

*Because everything has to be explained in Janet and John terms to some dumb suckers.

      4. “Is Dominic Cummings really a True Blue Tory?”

Whose definition of “True” are we operating to in that sentence?

What is the criteria? Who is applying that criteria? How is that criteria arrived at?

Of course, there are solid grounds for concluding that in comparison to Herr Starmer and the present make of what passes for a Labour Party the answer to that question would be a resounding no.

      5. Dave – Oh dear, I see that you are still desperately trying to prove to yourself how clever you are. 🥱

      6. It does not take much in the way of cognitive effort to ask such basic questions, Billy.

However, it does demonstrate a complete lack of gorm when someone has to resort to – what was that phrase again? Ah yes!…. prop[ping] up [their] comments with silly name calling”

        https://skwawkbox.org/2024/05/03/labours-vote-share-projection-falls-on-todays-local-results-and-is-lower-than-corbyns-milibands/#comment-254648

Readers will doubtless note your complete failure to address the substantive issue by use of such emotionally driven distractions…….

      7. …….and this:

        https://skwawkbox.org/2024/05/03/labours-vote-share-projection-falls-on-todays-local-results-and-is-lower-than-corbyns-milibands/#comment-254661

Now the question is are you going to continue to publicly avoid dealing with these matters with the kind of puerile level lame excuses which has become your hallmark and demonstrating to everyone how lacking in credibility you are?

Or are you going to grow and man up for once in your life, Billy?

      8. And to whom does that quote belong, Billy? (or does modesty prevent you revealing the source?)

Also; would it be too much cognitive effort to provide substantiating evidence:

        1. As to who, anywhere BTL on this site, has claimed the current elected President of the Russian Federation to be a ‘Communist” or a “leftist”?

        2. For the claim that the current elected President of the Russian Federation is a “Fascist Imperialist”.

The absence of substance on you part – yet again – is mere foaming at the mouth.

Don’t they have vets where you are?

  23. And on the subject of apathy from keef (especially when it comes to [child] sex cases) I’ve just noticed this…

“Keef allowed the nonce to resign rather than dismiss him from the party.. Case closed”
I was referring to Dewey’s resigning his newly won council seat

WT absolute F does the filthy pederast’s newly won council seat have to do with it?

They knew full well the degenerate pervert dewey was a nonce and STILL allowed him to resign, instead of dismissing him outright and calling for an appropriately long jail sentence…Which the animal wasn’t given at all – because the guidelines keef himself drew up aren’t conducive to jailing paedophiles and sex cases.

  24. About the so called Intelligence Services – did anyone watch
the recent BBC TV program about the Cold War and paranoia
in the 1980s? Guided by [Irony button]”Intelligence” – each side,
infected by paranoia, guessed what each was up to .. and they
    both got it wrong.

I think the public can see what is going on in both Political Parties .. and
    are not impressed by either.

Starmer has completely got it wrong .. as usual.

    1. Herr Starmer is not the only one around who has everything arse about face.

      1. Your analysis appears to be at odds with the latest polling.
        https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/49358-voting-intention-con-18-lab-48-7-8-may-2024
Latest YouGov Westminster voting intention figures
The latest YouGov/Times voting intention poll has the Conservatives on 18% (no change from our previous poll on 30 April – 1 May) while Labour are on 48% (+4).
This means that for the second week in a row the Conservatives are on their lowest vote share of this Parliament – although with Labour’s vote share increasing they are now farther behind their main rivals than they have been since Liz Truss’s brief premiership.
Elsewhere, Reform UK are on 13% (-2), the Lib Dems are on 9% (-1) and the Greens are on 7% (-1).

      2. “Your analysis appears to be at odds with the latest polling.”

        Not at all Billy.

        Because this model is:

        A. Entirely dependent upon a limited data set – ie those who have expressed an intention to vote for the limited available choices.

The largest single bloc of voters – ie those who are clearly not enthused by the unworkable options offered – is not captured by this polling data.

        B. It tells us nothing about the level of enthusiasm or approval towards the limited choices of those who have expressed an intention to vote.

Consequently, the observation by HolbyFanMW that…..

“I think the public can see what is going on in both Political Parties .. and are not impressed by either. ”

…..remains valid. As someone who is (allegedly) residing outside of the UK, Billy, you have absolutely no idea of the mood in the Country. You are clueless. A typical know nothing spreadsheet manager.

      3. Dave – Come the election we will see who is proved right, you or the polling companies. 🤔

      4. Not for the first time you are missing the point Billy.

Which is the validity of the statement made by HolbyFanMW that the public as a whole is not enthused by the false choices of two establishment parties pursuing policies based on the same failed, flawed and unworkable paradigm.

Not whichever one gets to be first eleven this time around.

And you are missing the point because for you everything has to be reduced to this simplistic and, frankly speaking, childish zero sum win/lose game.

However, lets play it your way, Billy. By your rules, Your paradigm:

Because even on your own narrow reductionist terms you are on a loser on the point I have made.

Here’s another £1,000 on the table – if you’ve got the balls and are so sure of yourself – that the largest single block of the eligible to vote electorate, as it has been for a number of elections in a row, will be those so un-enthused and (as HolbyFanMW puts it) unimpressed with the faux ‘choice’ on offer that once again non of the above – ie the number not voting/spoiling their ballot paper – will beat the total vote of the, in your terms, “winning” party.

Are you going to put your money where your mouth is, Billy, to back up your claim and your simplistic reductionist approach or are you going to bottle out like the last time?

      5. Dave – You can waffle all you want but come the next election your pontificating will count for bugger all.

      6. The point of contention Billy is whether or not the largest block of votes at the next election – if we have one – will be those who, are as HolbyFanMW observes, unispired by the faux choice on offer.

That has been the case for elections going back for some time.

In that regard, and using your own limited and reductionist level of what passes for analysis and argument you will most definitely be proven wrong on that point.

Suck up to it Billy. As the statistics demonstrate, you’ve lost before a shot is fired in any election on this point.

The fact that you do not contest that point but instead have to resort to what you criticise others for doing tells eveyr normal person reading this site everything they need to know about you and your character.

      7. Dave – You can make up as many supposed points of contention as you like, it doesn’t make them valid or compel me to waste my time addressing them. Come back and tell me all about your points of contention’ after the next general election when all the indications are that despite your best efforts Keir Starmer will be PM and Labour will be in power with a substantial parliamentary majority.

      8. You are still not paying attention Billy There is nothing to contend. Its a slam dunk.

The statistics clearly indicate that there is no need to wait for a General Election to determine the question which is the subject of this conversation.

General Elections of the last half century show that very election which was held in the 20th century produced an outcome in which the Political Party with the largest number of votes from the eligible/registered electorate was greater than the number of eligible/registered voters not voting (uninspired).

That went into sharp reversal after the 1997 General Election. With an 18.5% swing in favour of ‘none of the above’ – ie uninspired – between the 1997 General Election and the 2001 General Election.

        Go figure.

Since then every UK General Election this century has produced an outcome in which the number of eligible/registered voters not voting/spoiling ballot papers (uninspired) has been greater than the number of votes achieved by the party receiving the largest number of votes.

The highest gap being 17.07% in 2005; followed by the 16.4% gap in 2001 (both under Blair’s ‘New Labour’ which the Starmer led Labour Party is emulating).

Interestingly, the smallest gap was the 2.16% gap in the 2017 General Election. followed by the 4.35% gap in the 2019 General Election. Both when the Labour Party had swung back towards the political left and away from the political right represented by Blair and now Starmer.

        Again, go figure.

With an obvious choice between an authoritarian Blair clone and WEF Globalist (‘you will own nothing and be happy’) competing against another WEF Globalist clone, both pursuing the same failed neo-liberal economically illiterate paradigm, the actual poll statistics record clearly indicates not just a continuation of this trend but a substantial increase in the number of ‘uninspired’.

And the reason for this is very obvious. The purging from the political class and system in the UK of anyone who does not loyally adhere to The Official Narrative. Leaving no real choices for the electorate.

Just as well you declined the wager. It demonstrates a clear lack of confidence on your part Billy.

      9. Dave – So what you are telling us is that your research shows that the majority of the electorate vote and that because we aren’t a single party state that vote is split and you expected me to be interested in this ‘startling revelation’ because?
An analysis of why ‘the left’ appear to be incapable of inspiring enough supporters to vote so that at least their candidates don’t have to suffer the ignominy of losing their deposits would have been far more interesting. Is it apathy or just a lack of support.

      10. Oh dear.

Its not me “telling you” anything, Billy, its the statistics. The data.

And the thing about data and statistics, Billy, is that the same data can tell you more than one thing about what is going on. Data, unlike some, can run and chew gum at the same time.

The fact that you choose to acknowledge one aspect of the data whilst not simply ignoring another aspect but outright denying its existence says a lot more about you than it does about anyone else.

What it says about you, Billy, is that you pick and choose to suit your own fantasy narrative. And that’s why the Collective West is, and those of us in it are, up shit creek because of people like you who cannot cope with reality and who have this compulsive urge to force that unreality onto everyone else.

      11. ……In regards to the absence of alternatives again you are picking and choosing information and context which does not suit your fantasy comfort blanket coping narrative, Billy.

The Labour Party, which was originally formed to provide an alternative paradigm to the established status quo has been systematically purged of anyone who is not ‘one of us’ – ie the establishment elite.

        See here for example:

        https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68292736

As previously pointed out, even people like Robin Cook, John Prescott, and Mo Mowlem – among others – would get nowhere near a selection panel at Ward, never mind Constituency, level today.

An issue which impacts on democratic choice given the economic, and logistical difficulties of any non status quo alternatives operating outside a two party system. Particularly with an openly hostile bought and paid for media.

In that regard, you want to have your cake and eat it. You reject that reality and then criticise the lack of alternative candidates whilst at the same time denying the result of millions disenfranchised through that same absence of choice you are whinging about.

Basically, Billy, your modus oparandi is to piss on everybody and insist they accept that it is raining. An approach you would not adopt in a face to face with anyone outside the confines of social Media because you know you would end up on the floor on your backside.

  25. The tory right is welcome in the so called Labour party. I thought it was a bad sign when moderate torys defected to New New Labour, but when the right of the tory right fit in. Even the so called centre left have to start to doubt Stammer.

    1. A question arises from this political osmosis given that we are (at least under normal circumstances) only a matter of months away from a scheduled General Election.

It is reasonable to surmise that by now every Constituency Labour Party Unit will have selected its candidate to contest such an election (should it occur) under the Red Tory banner.

In the event of more Blue Tory’s crossing over to the Red Tory’s who gets priority to stand for the Red Tory’s in that General Election? Is the former Blue Tory who was elected as a Blue Tory MP last time around or the original Prospective Parliamentary Candidate selected by Labour Party Central Office over the heads of the local Constituency?

      1. Was thinking this meself earlier. Might be mistaken but I think I read summit about wakeford (to all intents & purposes) being guaranteed to run for the seat in the next election.

Think it was to do when they made him a junior minister or put him on some committee or other…Weren’t long after the defection IIRC.

      2. Off topic Toffee.

Can you do us a favour?

Can you persuade your team not to score on Saturday?

  26. They usually take as much persuading not to score as keef does to accept tories 😕.

    Although thankfully, not recently. 👍

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t be too arsed in what’s essentially a “dead rubber” of a game, but we need to garner as much PL prize moolah as possible in case they (PL) decide to fabricate more charges for financial irregularities.

The similarities between the way our club was mismanaged under bill kenwrong (and moshiri) and the smarmerite labour era are positively startling….But that’s for another forum.

    1. Millwall are back. Playoffs next season and a sparkling brand new old manager. Things are looking up. I got a like in an other thread, all right I did it but points are important.

    2. Well, at least we didn’t concede one hundred and eighty.

Oh! Hang on! That’s darts isn’t it.

Mind you, there’s still two games to go and the way our defence is playing 180 does not seem far fetched.

      1. It all be better for the blades next season IF yous take mason holgate off us.** He’ll be all the better next season for having the half-season under his belt, there. 👍

**PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE TAKE HIM – and save us a shitload in ‘wages’

  27. Back to topic …

It appears keef’s off to dover tomorrow to discuss more proposals (which will be different by this Sunday) on asylum seekers crossing the channel; complete with his new tory ally – the same one what ragged him over the boats.

Oh, and he’s got yet another signed piece in the morning murdoch, commonly known as the s*n. (Take note merseysiders, especially those with smarmerist MPs)

But he’s definitely NOT a tory, lads, lasses & all social classes. 🙄

    1. Toffee – No I didn’t miss it, I laughed out-loud when I read it this morning.😏

      1. “I laughed out-loud when I read it this morning.”

Now why does that not surprise anyone coming as it does from the – what’s that word again? Ah yes! – supporter and cheerleader of an undemocratic regime containing self-confessed neo-nazis and a morally and ethically challenged World Economic Forum globalist stooge pretending to lead a political “opposition”.

Your inner fascist is on show Billy. Keep digging that hole kid.

      2. Dave – “Your inner fascist is on show Billy. Keep digging that hole kid.”

        Is it really, where?

I’m not the one who supports the corrupt fascist Putin.

      3. Dave – Were you stupid enough to take Toffee’s nonsense seriously?

      4. When you have demonstrated this claim with substantive evidence Billy then normal people will be in a position to assess the merits or otherwise of it.

Until then – if ever, given your piss poor track record of backing up the bollocks which regularly comes out of your head – there is no question to answer or respond to.

If arguments were calories you would have expired long ago.

      5. David – I’m sorry but I don’t have any evidence that I laughed out loud when I read Toffee’s comment, you’ll just have to accept my word for it. I’m just a little surprised that you apparently didn’t do the same.

      6. Ah! We are back to wanting Janet and John level discourse.

The request for substantive evidence was in relation to the claim of “stupidity” in regard to the subject of the post of Toffee which you referenced.

Is that simple enough for you Billy?

      7. “I’m not the one who supports the corrupt fascist Putin.”

Again, Billy, I would refer you to the content of this post:

Which I will reproduce below for you:

        “Substantiate the following:

        1. Your repeated claim that I have anywhere stated “support” for anyone. In the case of your repeated, un-evidenced and therefore unsubstantiated ravings: Putin, Russia, China, Iran.

You cannot because its all in your fevered fantasy riddled head. Constantly repeating a blatant lie does not make it so. No matter how much you shout the odds.

What I have done is come out in favour of a number of basic universally applicable principles based on what are claimed by the elite collective Western political and media classes (who you have demonstrably accepted lie and mislead the Western public) to be sacred and by definition superior ‘Western Values’.

        Such as:

        – The equal right to self defence
        – The equal right to legitimate national security.
        – Non-zero sum outcomes.

So please explain the logic of how YOU turn the issue of basic principles and oft trumpeted values to “support” for individuals?

You have been afforded ample opportunity to substantiate your repeated lie. But all you do is prevaricate, try to change the subject and continue to repeat the lie.

Again, it is more than reasonable to repeat the request to desist from this and to apologise for doing so.

Your present stance merely confirms to any reader your total lack of credibility. Which means no one is going to accept anything you say because you have proven yourself to be a bad faith liar who consistently projects their own actions and behaviour onto others as a coping mechanism for your playground level approach.

In that regard, you are wasting your time here as no one is going to be convinced of a single thing you say and will in fact take the opposite stance to yourself. Which means you are undermining your own case.

Another own goal of the week.

        2. Substantiating evidence to support your claims in respect of the nature of the entities you are inaccurately claiming (as detailed above) other people are “supporting” as though real life can be reduced reduced to the level of football supporters.

I trust this fully answers your question and meets its requirements.

Would it be too much to ask for some reciprocation? Or are you going to double, triple and quadruple down to further demonstrate to readers how perfectly you fit the description detailed in my post of 08:44pm on 07/05/2024?

Your choice Billy. No hiding place.

      8. It should be noted that this poster, calling himself steveH, is still unable/unwilling to substantiate his multiple misrepresentations.

Which raises the question as to his credibility on anything he writes.

      9. Dave – Unless you are now claiming that you no longer support the corrupt fascist Putin and his regime then I’m struggling to see what your problem is.

      10. Billy, the problem is that what you are claiming is something which has never been said or implied.

It is therefore a misrepresentation. A lie. A deliberate lie otherwise you would have produced evidence to substantiate your claim given the number of opportunities afforded you.

I’ll ask again, where is your evidence that such a statement has been made or implied?

How do you get from statements and arguments dealing solely with facts and the issue of basic principles and oft trumpeted values to “support” for individuals or other State entities which have not featured in the discussion?

Either produce your evidence that I have made any such statement or apologise.

All you are achieving with this obtuse prevarication is demonstrating to everyone how dishonest you are and proving my point for me about your character and lack of credibility .

      11. Well, what a surprise.

        Another Billy no show.

Whats up kid. Cat got your tongue? Can’t substantiate your lies about, and misrepresentations of, other people? Unable to provide evidence for statements made about other entities?

Slinking away in silence hoping people will forget and move on/

        Ain’t going to happen Billy.

  28. Found a Survation poll that calculated the leaning of all MPs (autumn last year) and then tabulated these figures.
    http://www.mpsleftright.co.uk/
Of course its an inexact science but if you go to the FAQ and download the spreadsheet you can drill down into the data to find that Elphicke scores (where 100 = hard right, 0= hard left) 85 against the Tory average of 76
Starmer is 44 against a Labour score of 34
