- treats describing any complaints as ‘smears’ as antisemitic, resulting in the worrying implication that Jewish people are incapable of making the untrue statements that all human beings are capable of
- states that in many, possibly most cases, what flaws there were in Labour’s handling of complaints hurt those complained against
- fails to differentiate in its criticisms between what happened before Jennie Formby and the left on Labour’s NEC had control of the party’s processes and what happened after. However, its numerous references to improvements under Formby make the reality undeniable
- criticises Labour for not fully implementing the Chakrabarti report – a report that Labour’s critics at first welcomed and then u-turned to attack

It looks to me like the EHRC report is automatically identifying statements containing criticism of the behaviour of Israel or Zionists as automatically anti semitic by calling them an attack on Jewish ethnicity ?
How does that fit in with IHRA guidelines that where it advises that
1) Criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country cannot be regarded as antisemitic?
2) Statements should be assessed in their overall context ( intended meaning ) before interpreting them as being ant-semitic?

This morning on BBC news John Mann (he who is now employed by the Tory Party) and Ella Rose (who made an appearance in the Al Jezeera excellent 4 part series) was interviewed. Mann in his usual vindictive way eventually said he’s looking forward to Jeremys retirement.
Ella Rose I’d switched off by then. There was no explanation from the presenter that they’d asked for a representative from someone with opposing views. There was no Corbyn is not here to defend himself. The so called impartiality was severely lacking. Even my partner who’s a less excitable than me turned the BBC news off in disgust.
Then you have James O’Brien bullying a woman when she tried to explain what was going on in the party. His last words to her was that he’d looked at her twitter feed and the top that was a Tweet from Tommy Corbyn. In a vitriolic way he also made the point of the lady being from JVL as if he was talking about an extreme far right group that needed to be proscribed.
I have now received an email from Starmer saying he will implement all the EHRC recommendations. The party has been found guilty of breaching the Equalities Act, unlawful harassment and discrimination towards the Jewish community. There is no mention of how the investigations were improved under Jenny Formby. He wants those who left the party because of AS to rejoin. I suspect he’s lining up certain ex-members to replace left MPs by parachuting them in as their PPC.
So it remains to be seen what Starmer’s next step will be. If he tries to do what he’s been requested to do by the BOD, CAA and the JLM to expel Jeremy if this happens civil war will break out within the party
