Terrifying comparison of August child infection figures with now proves schools are driving second wave

16 August numbers show schoolkids make up a five times greater proportion of infections now and are catching the virus at a rate almost 100 times higher than they were two months ago

A screenshot of Public Health England’s coronavirus infection data from mid-August has further exposed the lie – agreed by both the Tories and Keith Starmer – that ‘school is safe’ in the pandemic.

In response to a chart showing the latest coronavirus infection data, one Twitter user posted a screenshot she had taken of the equivalent data for 16 August.

The contrast is chilling.

On that date, children aged 10-19 made up less than 5% of all infections – infections that were overall at a far lower rate than now:

Now, from less than 5% less than 2 months ago, 10-19s make up almost a quarter (24%) of new infections:

And because the current number of new cases is much larger – 17.5 times larger as of yesterday – it means that the number of children being infected each day has risen almost 100-fold in two months.

And it cannot be argued that the growth in that age bracket is driven largely by 18- and 19yos, because data on the 11-16 age group shows a rapid and exponential growth in infections over the last month:

From being almost the least-affected age-group, 10-19yos are the second-highest – and by far the fastest-growing.

In fact, the scale and rate of growth are enough to demonstrate that schools are the driver of the second wave.

Yet the Tories refuse even to consider closing them again, while shutting pubs and restaurants that contribute only 4% of cases.

This wilful blindness and obstinacy – and active dishonesty – is costing lives and will cost many more, while still wrecking our economy.

  1. Oh dear.

More missionary work to be attempted on the non-equivalence of PCR test results (aka ‘cases’) and infections/illness.

It’s not that difficult for people of intelligence – and is very important, given the use of PCR testing as a propaganda tool by government as a way of keeping the gullible fearful now that all-cause deaths are at a quarter-century low.

Kary Mullis, the Nobel prize-winning inventor of PCR summed it up like this :

“PCR allows you to amplify one simple molecule up to something that you can really measure There’s just very few molecules that you don’t have at least one of in your body. Misinterpreting that fact could be thought of as a ‘misuse’ by just claiming that such a finding is ‘meaningful’.

“It’s a process that’s used to make a whole lot of something out of very little. That’s simply what it is.”

It doesn’t tell you that you are sick, and it doesn’t tell you that what is detected in you is going to hurt you – or anything like that.”

    Quote/ unquote.

He was explicitly warning against the use of the test for any diagnostic purpose – it is a research tool that finds scraps of RNA, not viruses.

Current numbers suggest that – perhaps – 14% of ‘cases’ might be actual infections – and probably none of those in children

    1. Yet more utter covid19 denier, Trumpian, nonsense from the paid round-the-clock right wing troll, RH. What a waste of a life, even for money, to spend all day typing up the crap RH churns our round the clock – and has done for years on Skwawkbox now. Tragic.

      1. Don’t lie Terry – what Google really said was
        “did you mean moron, moron?”.

Take a bucket with you if your too scared to go the bog by yourself

  3. Just saw a group of young students on BBC News state that they were self-isolating having already been called by Test & Trace operators, but were still being phoned six or seven times a day with the same information – T&T being phone based I assume they mean individually rather than as a group.
I’d guess either operators don’t have enough real calls to make their targets or their bosses are telling them to make multiple calls to cover up wider problems.

  4. Children are being banned from singing Happy Birthday in schools over fears it will spread coronavirus.
Pupils are being told they must not sing Happy Birthday to their classmates but simply say the words to avoid spreading the virus.
The bizarre new approach comes just months after Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the UK to sing Happy Birthday twice during hand washing.
Some teachers are letting students hum or clap along to the celebratory tune so their mouths stay closed.
