Breaking: Boles supports Corbyn plan – Grieve ‘considering’

Ex-Tory MP says he will back Corbyn’s no-confidence and temporary government plan
Nick Boles announcing his resignation from the Tory party

MP Nick Boles, who quit the Tory party in April, has become the first ‘centrist’ MP to say he will support the plan outlined in Jeremy Corbyn’s letter to MPs last night.

Corbyn has asked MPs to support a no-confidence vote in Boris Johnson’s government to prevent Johnson’s no-deal Brexit – and in return has offered to seek an extension from the EU to allow for a general election campaign.

Tory Dominic Grieve has said he is ‘carefully’ considering Corbyn’s plan.

SKWAWKBOX view:

Boles’ move suggests his principles on the Brexit issue are genuine. It shames those centrists who have exposed their hypocrisy and ego by rushing to media to say they won’t support the plan. In doing so, they are aiding and abetting Johnson in dragging the UK over the no-deal cliff.

  1. Take it boles doesn’t fancy his chances as an independent next election then…

Tough titty lad, no room for your type within the party. Try the yellow tories.

  2. That’s the point. He doesn’t want to put his career before the good of the country. Unlike those utter c*nts Swinson & Umunna. From his point of view, Corbyn would be the lesser evil.

  3. Wake up comrades! Quisling government with Tories would be an electoral CATASTOPHE for Labour. Voters will desert us in DROVES! The sure outcome of this coalition of the Establishment is a Johnson landslide!

    1. Well you and jp are revelling in bringing us all down, but how about suggesting something constructive to do instead. You bring the doom with relish but have no answers.

People are twitchy round here about trolls…
