Breaking: Boles quits Tory party after 2nd defeat of his ‘indicative’ option

Nick Boles announcing his resignation from the Tory party

Former Tory minister Nick Boles has just resigned the Tory whip, blaming the ‘refusal’ of the Conservative party to ‘compromise’ over Brexit. Whether he will join the ‘Tinge group’ is not yet known, as he appeared to leave the Commons chamber rather than ‘cross the floor’.

A Tory voice could clearly be heard calling ‘Nick, don’t go. Come on’ – to no avail.

  1. I think , if they had the courage or principle, many more Tories would follow Nick Boles. Unfortunately they don’t and in order to protect their own jobs they prop up an obstinate inflexible PM whose pigheadedness and stupidity are leading us over the edge of a cliff..
