Excl: Sandwell’s new council leader resigns – now two in a row

Steve Trow succeeded Steve Eling after Eling’s resignation. Now Trow has gone too

Sandwell council leader Steve Trow, who took up the position following the resignation of Steve Eling – who had been suspended by the Labour Party – has dramatically also resigned.

In an email sent to other Labour councillors, Trow cited ‘changing personal circumstances and increasing family obligations’ for his decision:

Trow had also been the subject of complaints about the alleged falsification of council meeting minutes after an incident in which Cllr Yvonne Davies was allegedly bullied from the room by Trow’s predecessor and others.

  1. Is the political hinterland that supports the nest of corrupt right wing Labour MPs in that area finally disintegrating?I do hope so.

    1. Looks very like it doesn’t it! The MPs concerned must be getting very worried so no doubt allegations of bullying and purges – what other people call the democratic process – will follow.
