ITV political editor says he was ‘told’ Labour’s election leaflet is being rewritten to include a mention of a new referendum.
Yesterday, centrist journalists had tried to claim Labour’s election leaflet had caused outrage by ‘failing’ to mention Labour’s ‘commitment’ to a new referendum on the UK’s departure from the EU.
As the SKWAWKBOX had to point out, there is no such commitment and never has been one – Labour’s policy remains to enact the result of the 2016 referendum but will do whatever is needed to prevent a no-deal Brexit or Theresa May’s worse-than-no-deal version.
This afternoon, ITV’s political editor Robert Peston has tweeted that the leaflet is being ‘rewritten’ because someone ‘forgot’ to include a mention of a new vote:

Labour’s leaflet says what it is supposed to say and is perfectly in line with Labour’s actual policy – as opposed to the fantasy version clung to by referendum-obsessives and those trying to steer Labour into the cul-de-sac of a damaging snub to Labour’s leave-voting northern strongholds.

Yes it’s interesting when you overhear a conversation on the EC but are not part of it but wish you had been.
A white working class neighbour was talking to some neighbours in the distance and he said “No doubt with Labour we will still be keeping these migrants!”
I would have said but migrants work, pay taxes, often do the jobs UK citizens won’t do, and contribute billions to the UK economy.
We have also not spent one penny on their education and health so in a sense we are getting these free workers and they even pay their own bloody fares to get here!
But my dear working class friend it is the rich you are keeping – they legally nick your surplus labour and avoid paying tax but instead of attacking them you turn against us diverse working people instead of the real enemy – the rich & powerful!
(This is probably because the rich and powerful don’t live amongst us and are invisible – people are driven by the right wing media etc. to turn on their immediate neighbours when our real enemies are invisible).
Perhaps we need:
A Customs union and Brexit.
To Bring back migration adjustment funds for councils.
To trade unionise migrant workers to get better conditions for them and to build community solidarity.
To have migrants needing job offers so we democratically control labour supply and can take workers we need from anywhere in the world.
To democratically control capital supply (countries had these above two before Neo-Liberalism).
Personally I hope these European elections in the UK are not needed but for JC will vote Labour.

I have always argued our companies need to trade tariff free with Europe but for this Govt may have to pay a collective fee.
We should leave but then otherwise how would you suggest we trade with the EC (50% of our trade) on good terms?

The Stalinist pro-Brexit forces in Corbyn’s office have done everything they can to frustrate this policy.
Jim Denham also uses the term ‘fudge’. This is a fatal error by Jim, as it is the term used by right wing Blairites in the party.
Blair is on the record as saying he does not want a socialist Labour government to win power.
By using the term Jim has exposed himself as someone who would prefer the Tories to stay in power, and for austerity to continue killing people, if that is what it takes to stop Jeremy Corbyn becoming prime minister.
After Labour wins power you will not see any more comments from people like Jim Denham or SteveH or RH on this site. These trolls will disappear, never to be heard of again.

‘Fudge’ is a term used by Blairites who are using Brexit to cause division in the Labour Party to destabilise and sabotage the electability of a socialist Labour government.

Labour Party policy is to leave the EU.
I will reiterate that point as often as I like. No offence but your name rules you out of sticking your oar in regarding party policy, That’s the price you pay for your pseudonym, buddy.
I will certainly not be keeping my power dry when Blairite trolls come here who refuse to respect Labour’s Brexit policy.
They aren’t going to deliver this. I’d like to be proven wrong, but it’s just not going to happen.
The six tests are a sly way of keeping us in.
1. Does it ensure a strong and collaborative future relationship with the EU?
2. Does it deliver the “exact same benefits” as we currently have as members of the Single Market and Customs Union?
3. Does it ensure the fair management of migration in the interests of the economy and communities?
4. Does it defend rights and protections and prevent a race to the bottom?
5. Does it protect national security and our capacity to tackle cross-border crime?
6. Does it deliver for all regions and nations of the UK?
There’s absolutely no brexit in there.
Take 4, the EU has caused a race to the bottom with its free movement. Where in the EU can an unskilled worker go from Britain to double or triple their wage?
Or 1. Why would we want to collaborate, we’re leaving. This is probably the biggest clue that big money is still steering the party (second was the denial of mandatory reselection).
We have more chance of leaving with Farage’s new party, and I don’t trust him either!

Too late Skwarkie! Problem is, Labour has already betrayed the working class by supporting the utterly neoliberal EU by backing Remain in the referendum.
It betrayed them again by supporting the fake Brexit of staying in the customs union “with close alignment to the single market”, replacing one neoliberal constitution by another.
Now, for good measure, the NEC has chosen a solid army of pro-EU Euro candidates. Little wonder Labour is seen as the party of Remain.

After reading, I’d say the only inaccuracy is describing centrism as left wing. It’s not. It’s gentle right wing. There is no left wing in Britain (except maybe the Communist party or some other non entity)
This can be proven by Lammy’s recent description of Tories being Nazis. He has nowhere else to go, due to his own right wing stance.
