Rumours have been circulating that today’s meeting of Labour’s National Executive Committee (NEC) is in uproar as NEC member Peter Willsman is being attacked and demands are shouted for his resignation. These rumours are wholesale fake news.
Multiple sources actually inside the meeting tell the SKWAWKBOX that the meeting is cordial and orderly, Willsman is calm and his position is in no way either attacked or threatened – in fact, he has not been mentioned at all as a topic for discussion.
No prizes for guessing why some so-called sources talking to the mainstream media might want to suggest otherwise after the right’s catastrophic results in yesterday’s NEC elections, but since when was malicious fake news from the Labour right anything unusual?
