[Was: 3 NEC members’ “betrayal” to sink Code Plus]

code plus rose

This article originally recounted news from Labour’s NEC that a group of NEC members had, according to Labour sources, ‘betrayed’ the party’s membership by voting to sink Labour’s enhanced code of conduct.

In a dramatic last-gasp turnaround, Labour’s leadership has retrieved the situation by delaying a binding vote until after the party’s annual conference this month in Liverpool.

Outstanding political nous by the leadership on behalf of the party’s members. See here for details.

  1. I wonder whether this code must be ratified by conference, if does it should be singled out and voted out. Who cares what trouble the right will make of it.

  2. Code plus was always a climb-down anyway.

The original document by the NEC was a “gold standard” #BackNECcode

Agree if possible vote it out but it depends on the unions at conf.
The right will continue to cause trouble till JC leaves

  3. Imagine if a Tory politician was caught on camera ranting antisemitic abuse. The antisemitism hot-air balloon built to smear Corbyn would be fatally wounded. Hot air would escape out of it causing it to crash to the ground.

The only problem would the silence from the mainstream media. But this site and sites like RT, The Canary and others could print the scandal and that would be enough.
