Labour First’s Luke Akehurst has set up a page to garner support for his bid to regain a seat on Labour’s National Executive Committee (NEC) as part of a slate of right-wing candidates that supporters of the party’s leadership shouldn’t go near.
The page offers visitors the chance to sign up as supporters – but the decision to install a scrolling ‘slider’ of sign-ups was, shall we say, a bit ill advised.
Visitors clearly decided it would be a bit of fun to sign up with made-up names – some purely humorous, some bitterly barbed – as this video of the page in action and the source-code driving it shows:
The slider might be removed and doesn’t show up in archives of the page, but below is a selection of those that were showing in the page source when the SKWAWKBOX checked:

but declined to say how many had signed in total, saying only:
I don’t intend to while people are having their bit of fun with it.

Some years ago, under a previous editor, I was banned from commenting in ‘Labour List’. I attempted to warn about the dangers of Zionists having so much influence in the LP. I tried to point out that Socialism was at odds with Zionism and any Socialist who opposed it would be singled out for retribution. Guess what ……..
Mind you, even if you mentioned Socialism at that time, many in the LP would run a mile!
