Farage, Banks ‘to join DUP’

Nigel Farage was speaking this evening at a DUP event in Ballymena, alongside DUP MPs Ian Paisley Jr, Sammy Wilson and Paul Girvan:

While there, he may have been filling in application forms.

Rumours are strengthening in Northern Ireland that he – and former UKIP funder Arron Banks – are about to join the DUP, in spite of Farage’s attempts to quash them during a Sky News appearance earlier today.

A Northern Irish source told the SKWAWKBOX:

It’s looking more likely. The reward for Farage would probably be a safe seat in Northern Ireland, probably in the Ballymena bible belt.

Mr Farage was accused last autumn, in an email to OLAF investigators, of being under sealed indictment in the US in relation to Robert Mueller’s investigation into Donald Trump.

Of course, if it happens, the obvious irony in Farage joining a political party dedicated to keeping its territory in a political union with a larger landmass that around half its inhabitants want to escape from will not be lost on many.

  1. Response to your Facebook post:
“Robin O’Neill: The Tullyglass House Hotel is, as far as I am aware, still in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. Girvan is the name of one of the speakers.
Is any of the rest of it accurate”

A little light editing required before the TypoPolice explode 😉

  2. If Farage and Banks are accepted by the DUP, it will be proof that the DUP welcomes racists.
