UKLFI now trying to strike off designer Mo Hamzeh’s Palestine charity

The UK government’s ban on US-Palestinian clothing designer Mo Hamzeh’s entry to the UK was driven by the usual suspects of the UK apartheid lobby: UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI). And, unsurprisingly, they’re boasting about it – and going further.

Hamzeh had received a UK entry permit to attend a charity event to raise money for his ‘Sun of Freedom‘ charity helping Palestinians suffering genocide, apartheid and land theft, but the visa was withdrawn as the Burnham government suddenly decided he posed a threat to Jews through his anti-genocide designs and is “not conducive to the public good”.

Britain’s apartheid industry

UKLFI has rightly been described by human rights group CAGE as one of the two main apartheid apologist groups. Despite its clearly political aims, it is allowed to run a ‘charity’ and benefit from UK tax breaks.

The group has achieved notoriety on a number of occasions, pressuring a London hospital to remove paintings by Palestinian children, attempting to pressurise venues to cancel events, museums to erase the word ‘Palestine’, and groups to withdraw boycott motions, eleven ‘political’ attempts to have UK-Palestinian surgeon Ghassan Abu Sitta banned from practising and the comment by its chief executive that Israel’s blockade preventing food from entering Gaza is improving Palestinians’ health by combating obesity.

The group’s entitled expectation of obedience knows no bounds. It has even targeted streaming giant Netflix and the BBC.

This arrogance doesn’t translate into competent communication, at least in person. UKLFI spokeswoman Natasha Hausdorff has featured in a number of ‘car crash’ interviews, even getting kicked off an LBC programme by right-wing pundit Iain Dale. She also denies the existence of illegal Israeli settlement. How dare we believe our lying eyes and the United Nations.

But despite its obvious political agenda, its fanaticism and reports to the Charity Commission of its , the Burnham government continues to obey UKLFI’s demands – amplified by ‘friends of genocide’ politicians. No surprise there: Burnham’s handlers are the same Israel supporters that ran Keir Starmer.

Overweening entitlement

But the huge entitlement and shamelessness of Israel lobby groups means that UKLFI is not satisfied with the government’s spurious decision to cancel his visa. Despite the obvious issues with its own charity registration as a blatantly political group, t now wants to strike off Hamzeh’s charity for Palestinian refugees, too. After crowing about its success in attacking free speech, UKLFI demanded the removal of Sun of Freedom’s charitable status:

We now urge the Charity Commission to take equally decisive action. Someone whose conduct has reportedly resulted in exclusion from the UK on public-good grounds should not be entrusted with the leadership of a British charity.

Unlike UKLFI’s political purpose to protect apartheid and deny genocide, Sun of Freedom says its mission is:

to provide life-saving humanitarian aid to people displaced within the Palestinian Occupied Territories.

As so often said of the genocidal colony and its apologists: every accusation is a confession.

  1. Why do we still allow this blatently non charitable group charitable status ?

  2. Is Frau Hausdorff’s presence in the UK conducive to the public good?
