Video: Treasury minister tells Welsh MP to be more grateful for pittance Labour is sending Wales for rail

Yet again Starmer regime treats Wales with contempt – this time it’s Labour minister who raised funds to run against party

Treasury minister Darren Jones has told a Welsh MP who challenged him over the peanuts the Starmer government is sending to Wales for rail investment – only enough to build a handful of stations near the border with England – to be more grateful that he gets anything at all.

LibDem David Chadwick confronted Jones over Labour’s rail con perpetrated on Wales, only to receive the contemptuous response:

The new stations to be built in Wales with the Labour government’s pittance are Newport West, Somerton, Lanwern, Mayor & Undy and Cardiff East. A quick look at Google Maps shows all of these to be about as close to the border with England as possible – making life easier for English travellers and commuters going to and from Cardiff, basically:

Right-winger Jones, an MP in Bristol – which just happens to be the nearest big English city to the new rail stations – became notorious in 2018 when, under threat of deselection from his unhappy local members, started raising funds to campaign against Labour if he was democratically ousted. In 2020, under the ‘new’ Blairite management of Starmer and his sidekick David Evans, left-wing members were booted out of the party for mentioning the Greens or for no reason at all, but Labour took no action against Jones despite his record of actively working against the party, instead promoting him to the front bench.

Starmer’s Westminster outfit has long treated Welsh Labour with contempt as a subservient branch office, rigging selections to favour Starmeroid candidates, telling Wales’s then First Minister which events he should attend, screwing up his title (twice) at Labour’s UK annual conference and even re-using Scottish campaign leaflet text on Welsh – without bothering to remove the references to Scotland or to add a return address that exists.

Now the Starmer front bench is barely even bothering to conceal its contempt for Wales and seems determined to drive it, like England, even deeper into the arms of the Reform UK ‘party’*.

  1. Can Wales not simply change it’s name to “London” and their streets would be paved with gold. I understand that they are getting less than one twentieth of what London gets for just one road tunnel.

Maybe London could just hive itself off as a separate country and the rUK could thrive?

  2. It’s not particularly Wales, Starmer’s default position is to have total contempt for just about everybody – EXCEPT of course his corporate ‘sponsors’ (Palantir/BlackRock, etc), for whom he would hoax, lie, de-pladge and deceive as if his life depended on it. If he’s ‘nice’ to you, then he wants something.

Were his thoughts, actions and behaviour NOT totally paid-for and controlled by the global corporates he serves, his mental health would be a major ‘concern’.

Happily for him, though, Starmer has a near-psychotic ability to “suspend” his sense of right and wrong, his emotional, psychological, social and ethical needs to the “job in hand” – whether that be ignoring WASPIs, child poverty, televised genocide, ensuring ‘economic growth’, increasing defence spending or instigating a cashless society where facial recognition and Big Brother-like social control becomes the Norm.

    1. The same conclusion can be reasonably made in regard to Herr Starmer’s sole supporting shill on this site, judging by that supporting shill’s rabid rantings.

      1. Yes, subservience and obedience can be a lifestyle choice for some individuals (often rooted in personal, cultural, or religious beliefs). For Starmer this is self-serving. and lucrative; not sure about his ‘followers’.
