The organising committee of the Jewish Anti-Zionist Congress (JAC), which begins tomorrow in Vienna, has called for the immediate suspension of Israel from the United Nations, and of its ‘associate’ membership of the European Union, because of its genocide and other crimes in Gaza and its apartheid against the Palestinian people – and has demanded the prosecution of western government figures who have assisted Israel’s slaughter and oppression of the Palestinians.
The JAC issued a statement, dated yesterday – before Israel’s release of most of the crew of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla humanitarian vessel Madleen today – demanding their immediate release – but going on to demand immediate prosecution for war crimes of political ‘leaders’ who have participated in or covered for Israel’s genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity:
The organising committee of the Jewish Anti-Ziost Congress is Calling for the immediate release of the crew, passengers and the boat Madleen, hijacked by piratical action of Israel, while sailing in international waters to deliver aid to the starving people in Gaza. Israel has added yet another crime to the impossibly long list of its illegal and immoral actions against the people of Palestine.
One of the courageous passengers on the Madleen is the French-Palestinian parliamentarian, Rima Hassan, one of the keynote speakers in our forthcoming Congress. The illegal arrest of the passengers and crew of the relief boat Madleen is against International Law and the Law of the Sea, as is everything which Israel did in Palestine not just since October 7th, but since May 1948.
We are calling on Britain, whose flag the Madleen is flying, to immediately intervene with the Apartheid regime to bring about the immediate release of the boat, the crew and passengers, and the crucial aid packages for the people of Gaza, so that their mission can be completed.
We call on all people of conscience everywhere to do all they can to press their governments into action against the genocide, ethnic cleansing, starvation and wanton destruction by the Apartheid regime in Gaza, and the rest of Palestine.
Please use your rights as citizens to help bring an end to the terrifying crimes of the Zionist regime, in Palestine and elsewhere in the Middle East. Please also call for those Western politicians who have supported the Israeli genocide by words, by finance, by arming Israel and oVering it political and diplomatic support, to face public inquiries and the full force of national and international law. All such political leaders should face justice for aiding and abetting genocide at the ICC.
Only by the immediate and long-term application of international and UN Sanctions against the Apartheid regime can we bring about the end of such crimes against humanity, and the ending of the racist and genocidal occupation of Palestine by the Zionist occupation forces.
We are calling on all UN member states to suspend the Apartheid genocidal state from the UN General Assembly, as happened to another Apartheid state, South Africa, in 1974, through debate and vote by the General Assembly. If it was right to do this in 1974, it is a hundred times more justified in the case of Israel.
We call upon the EU to suspend Israel as an Associate member – something obviously illegal under EU own regulations.
We call on all states to suspend their relations with Israel, to cease trading with it, and to stop any arming of the Apartheid regime, in an effort to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Israel, its mouthpieces and its political and media allies present support for Israel – and therefore its genocide, apartheid, racism and land theft – as if it is inextricably linked to Jewish identity, a deeply antisemitic proposition but never challenged or scrutinised by those politicians or media.
But many Jewish people are deeply opposed to Israel’s apartheid and mass slaughter; they are at the forefront of protests and action against genocide and occupation. The statement by the JAC is another demonstration of that – and will therefore be entirely ignored by the so-called ‘mainstream’ media and by Zionist, genocide-enabling politicians like UK PM Keir Starmer and Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

And Vienna perhaps is symbolic for The Jewish Anti-Zionist Conference (JAZC) because this was often the venue for for the World Zionist Conference where the Territorialists lost a vote around 1907.
They were willing to accept a home in Africa & favoured Kenya so if things had gone their way we would now be chanting “Free! Free! Kenya!.”
A progressive writer in the New York Times recently wrote an opinion piece: ‘This Israeli Govt is putting Jews around the world at risk.’
But I suggested after “This” should insert “Zionist.”
I think most people have nothing against Jewish people but some argue Zionists seem to think they are superior which is ridiculous; Jewish people are wonderfully diverse, and actually are just equal.

They picked Vienna for a reason – it was the birthplace of modern political Zionism, when Theodor Herzl organised the First Zionist Congress there in 1897. This is the very right place to challenge and confront the vile, racist and anti-democracy legacy of Zionism and for ‘the wrong sorts of Jews’ to proclaim that many Jews believe in a decolonised future for Palestine and free Palestinians.

Israel is feeling “under siege” and afraid that the Western World is slowly but surely waking up to understand that Israel:
1- doesn’t represent all the Jews
2- Israel is a settler colonial project and has not right to disposes the Palestinians of their land
3-Incresingly the Western World will come in favour of recognising Palestine as a State
Thus, Israel has decided to attack Iran in an attempt to elicit sympathy from the Western Wold and hoping that the US will eventually support Israel against Iran.
I believe Israel is counting on the internal opposition to the present Iranian regime will made easy for Israel with the support of the US to win the conflict against Iran.
However, I believe the best prediction of behaviour is past behaviour. Iraq make the mistake of believing Iran will be easy picking, because of internal opposition to the Islamic regime. Iraq believed too, that it will win the war as it had the support of the US, the UK and other western powers. But, Iran no only repelled Iraq but, emerged stronger from the 8 years of war.
My educated guess is that the US couldn’t prevail in Afghanistan and it isn’t going to prevail in Iran. No when China and Russia will support its fellow BRICKS member. Strategically speaking it makes sense for both China and Russia to support Iran, specially if the US decides to intervene in support of Israel.
The borders of China and Russia are closer to Iran that the US borders are closer to Israel. Hence, easier from Iran to get supplies than for Israel. Both China and Russia can easily reach Iran without the need of using the Suez Canal or the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. Russia can reach Iran by using the Caspian Sea.
By contrast the US could be prevented from reaching Israel as the Houthis can easily attack both Suez and the Bab-el Mandeb Strait. While access through the Mediterranean could can under attack from Hezbollah.
I will expect too, that Turkey will refuse to allow the US to use its bases in Turkey with the purpose of attacking Iran, rightly alleging that Iran is not part of the North Atlantic.
Thus, Israel will eventually lose its war with Iran and will pay a very heavy price: the dismantlement of Israel as a Zionist State.
