‘Anything that moved’: Israel (again) admits mass ‘Hannibal’ killing of own citizens on 7 Oct

UK media and politicians still ignore, despite yet another confirmation of mass ‘friendly fire’ slaughter

The Israeli military has admitted that its air force carried out the ‘Hannibal Directive’ to kill its own people alongside Palestinians on 7 October 2023, the Jerusalem Post (JP) newspaper has reported.

Yoav Gallant, Israel’s defence minister at the time, admitted during an interview last month that ‘Hannibal’ orders to kill both Israeli captives and their Palestinian captors were given repeatedly and in various locations – and even lamented that in some areas it had not been given, leading to Israelis being taken into Gaza. But now the JP has reported the Israeli military also admitting the use of the directive to ‘fire on anything that was moving’ – and that Israeli forces carried out almost 950 airstrikes and fired 11,000 times from helicopters, resulting in heavy casualties.

This is not, contrary to some claims, the first time that the occupation regime has admitted the Hannibal killing of its own citizens on that day, however. As long ago as November 2023, Israeli police confirmed that IDF helicopters had killed large numbers of Israelis at the Nova music festival and Israeli tankers were filmed discussing the orders they had been given to fire at Israeli homes with their owners inside them.

Even earlier, eye-witnesses had described how Israeli tanks had fired into kibbutz homes they knew contained Israeli families with children, killing many – including a young girl the regime then tried to use as a ‘poster child’ for its claims that the 7 October victims were brutally killed by Palestinians – and a reserve colonel flying Israeli helicopters said the Israeli deaths on the day were the result of a ‘mass Hannibal’. Israeli spokesman and former ambassador Mark Regev inadvertently admitted the same when he had to reveal that around two hundred burned ‘Israeli’ bodies were in fact Palestinians burned beyond initial recognition at the same time as the Israeli casualties.

Soon afterward and well over a year ago, Israel’s military itself gave away the truth when it told the Yediot Ahronoth newspaper that the reason it was refusing to have a formal investigation into the ‘friendly fire’ killings was because the number killed was ‘immense and complex’:

Yediot Ahronoth’s report.

The ‘Hannibal Directive’ is Israel’s military protocol to kill its own people along with Palestinians, on the basis that it is supposedly better to be killed – and certainly more convenient for the occupation regime – than to be taken into captivity.

Its widespread use on 7 October – on average every twenty minutes or so from the early morning hours until late into the evening – has been clear for around fifteen months, freely discussed for that long by Israeli media and admitted repeatedly, including this week, by Israel’s military, but UK and US politicians and media continue to ignore it despite the incontrovertible evidence, presumably because it does not fit the Establishment’s preferred narrative to excuse Israel’s genocide of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Similarly, Israeli atrocity propaganda about rapes and beheadings also collapsed more than a year ago and was thoroughly discredited, but the same media and politicians continue to repeat it as if it wasn’t. Instead, Keir Starmer’s regime is waging a ‘lawfare’ war on journalists and activists who expose and resist Israel’s war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocidemany of them Jewish. Starmer himself has refused even to acknowledge that genocide and other crimes have taken place, as has his Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

And this week the BBC said that it has no plans to restore the one piece of decent documentary journalism it had published on the suffering of Palestinian children under Israel’s bombardment and siege, which it had deleted under pressure from the Israeli embassy and its UK lobby groups, despite demands from media figures and many leading British Jews to put it back online.

      1. Toffee – Really??? 🤔

Where and when did Keir say that he supported the the murder of Israeli citizens under the Hannibal doctrine?

      2. Actions speak louder than words, Billy.

Apart from the silence from Herr Starmer on the issue – choosing to sweep it under the carpet into the memory hole incinerator – which proves Toffee’s point on its own – he is not only providing the means to carry out such policies – arms and intelligence etc – there is also example after example on an almost daily basis of the Regime headed by Herr Starmer harassing, intimidating, arresting and smearing anyone and everyone who is effective in drawing attention to the crimes of the Zionist Israeli Junta.

Go tell it to the marines, Billy, Because the sailors certainly won’t believe your evidence free bullshit shill for The Official Narrative.

      3. Gobshite – when did keef say the zionists haven’t got that right, hmm?

When did keef condemn the hannibal directive that they’ve admitted to employing – on several occasions, hmm?

Silence will be an admission that you’re bullshitting yet again.

        So…let’s hear it.

      4. Toffee – You’re the one who is making silly statements that you can’t substantiate. 🤔

      5. Really?

Because its evident Im the one asking questions you have NO answer to.despite all your piss & wind.

      6. Toffee – I have simply pointed out that you stated something that was untrue and given your response you appear to have acknowledged that you are unable to provide any evidence to support your original assertions I am quite happy to leave it there. 😏

      7. Except you’re full of shit and so is keef.

        israel DOES have that right

Thereby giving benny carte-blanche. No ifs, no buts, no equivocation.

  2. He didn’t, but he believed the Israeli hasbara ‘unequivocally’, saying Israel had ‘the right to defend itself by whatever means necessary blah, blah, blah’.

Since the lies were exposed in November 23, neither, he nor Lammy have adjusted that position, and have continued to support Israel – again – unequivocally, to the extent of sending RAF reconnaissance flights over Gaza, especially, on the days when Israeli hostages are being handed over. No doubt, to try and figure out where the Hamas resistance fighters, involved in the handovers, are holed-up, in between times.

The UK government continues to supply Israel with spare parts for Israeli aircraft, to the extent of ‘reviewing’ the meagre ‘ban on exports’ – enacted last year – once the ceasefire began.

Over the past seventeen months, the UK government – meaning Keir Starmer – have adopted no sensible positions on this Genocide, and there’s no point in looking for any, no matter how sketchy they may be.

    1. Great, ta.

From the article “11,000 shells, dropped more than 500 heavy one-ton bombs and launched 180 missiles” – and that’s only the air force.

“Journalist Sam Husseini tried to ask Blinken about the Hannibal Directive at a press conference and was quickly and violently carried out of the room by four security guards.”

  4. If any other white ‘European’ country admitted slaughtering its own people with helicopter gunships our MSM would go batsh1t. It just shows how fascist and racist they are, that this behaviour by an ally is deemed acceptable. The alternative would be that the Israeli lobby is very powerful and our fearless investigative media are cowards, but that would be an outrageous antisemitic trope!
