Video proves Met claim that Gaza march ‘broke through’ police lines is false

Footage clearly shows police waving marchers through to lay wreaths for murdered Palestinian children

Yesterday, the Met Police made dozens of arrests of peaceful anti-genocide protesters after claiming that their march ‘broke through’ police lines blocking them from Trafalgar Square to appease pro-Israel pressure groups.

More than ten have been charged, dozens were held for twenty-four hours or more even if they merely arrived via a rail station behind the police line – and even MPs were questioned ‘under caution’, meaning that what they said during the interview could potentially be used against them at trial.

But former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, one of the MPs questioned, insisted that police had ‘facilitated’ the protesters’ move into Trafalgar Square to lay wreaths in memory of Palestinian children murdered by Israel during its genocide in Gaza:

I was part of a delegation of speakers, who wished to peacefully carry and lay flowers in memory of children in Gaza who had been killed.

This was facilitated by the police. We did not force our way through.

Jeremy Corbyn MP.

Now video released by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) proves the account of Corbyn and other witnesses – and completely disproves the police claims used in an attempt to criminalise peaceful protesters.

Because it clearly shows the marchers being told to filter down to a narrower column – and then waved through by police officers:

The state has repeatedly demonised peaceful protesters calling for an end to the mass slaughter of Palestinian civilians, accusing them of violence, hate, abuse and antisemitism – and the Israel lobby has not been shy about concocting false claims to assist. Keir Starmer’s regime, firmly on the side of the genocidal colony, has escalated those smears into a war of arrests, raids, harassment and attempted intimidation against peace campaigners and journalists, many of them Jewish, who dare to expose Israel’s crimes and lies.

With the new evidence available, it seems clear that the Met were told to manufacture an ‘incident’ as a tool to criminalise innocent marchers – including violent arrests – for doing nothing more than showing humanity and good order. Now who could have told them that..?

  1. In the post-truth malice in blunderland culture of the Collective Worst – particularly in Britain – the concept of evidence is redundant. Evidence is for those ‘losers’ in the reality based community. It is all about the Narrative. Nothing else matters.

Welcome to the world and consequences of self-definitions and denial of objective reality, suckers.

    1. It’s the “better future” YOU voted for, and told us to vote for, gobshite.

Why not come back to blighty to share in it with us, hmm?

      1. Toffee – Thanks for the offer but we prefer the weather here. 🌞

      2. I didn’t read it as an ‘offer’, Hyacinth, more a reminder that you’re no-longer a part of anything here. Leaving your mother-land makes you a political orphan, homeless, unattached and dis-concatenated – a political expat.

By all means, hold opinions about domestic situations, but, please, don’t claim any special legitimacy or relevance for them. It won’t wash.

      3. qwertboi – “Leaving your mother-land makes you a political orphan, homeless, unattached and dis-concatenated – a political expat.”
Try telling that to the generations of immigrants who have chosen to make the UK their home.

“By all means, hold opinions about domestic situations, but, please, don’t claim any special legitimacy or relevance for them. It won’t wash.”
Really, I wasn’t aware that I had? Could you give us some examples?

      4. “Thanks for the offer but we prefer the weather here.”

Like all mardy children you want to have your cake and eat it.

Make your mind up, Billy. If you don’t want to share the pain, don’t keep pissing down people’s backs and telling them it’s raining.

      5. Dave – What did Ben Jamal say that you objected to in the audio link that I posted above.?

      6. Stop being deliberately gormless Billy, no one is buying your bullshit.

The issue, as you are well aware, is not Ben Jamal’s statement, it is Toffee’s argument about the “better future” that you continue to insist is being lived against the reality of the everyday experience of those of us actually here.

You continue to peddle the bollocks that this fascist orientated authoritarian Government and its failed and unworkable policies represents the only viable and “credible” option (TINA) from an (alleged) safe distance.

That is the issue. No amount of deflection and re-framing to suit yourself is going to cut any ice here.

      7. Dave – Please feel free to come back and tell me all about it when you can offer a credible alternative.

      8. Whose subjective woke definition of “credible alternative” are we operating to, Billy?

The objective approach of the reality based community, or the ignorant drivel we get from your (alleged) Caribbean safe haven bolthole?

      9. Dave – On the contrary, I’m looking forward to reading what you have to say. Everyone can then judge for themselves the credibility of whatever you decide to present us with.

      10. Meanwhile, for those who claim to be interested in polls, Stuart Campbell at Wings over Scotland identifies just how bad the mood of the country is six months into a five-year stretch of porridge under the hapless Herr Starmer and his incompetent amoral second eleven.

        https://wingsoverscotland.com/the-great-hollowing/

The most recent YouGov poll shows:

“– 50% of people who voted Labour don’t want the Labour leader to be PM.

        – 68% of people who voted Tory don’t want the Tory leader to be PM.

        – 70% of people who voted Lib Dem don’t want the Lib Dem leader to be PM.

And we really need to stop and take a moment to think about just how batshit crazy that is, because it’s definitely not a sign of a healthy, functioning democracy. Although of course we already knew we weren’t in one of those, because the most popular party in Britain – by an absolute country mile, with more votes than the next two put together – is “None of you useless tossers”.”

Whilst this might well bring a warm glow to the cockles of the fictional Montgomery Brewster (Brewster’s Millions) heart, among one of the many things it does reveal is that the majority of the Country is having none of this “come back and tell me all about it when you can offer a credible alternative” bollocks.

The bottom line is that those taking the TINA line that what we have in these islands is the best of all possible worlds are in a shrinking minority, destined for the same fate as the Dodo and the dinosaurs.

      11. Having already responded to this line previously, it would appear that the legendary 7-second attention span of the average goldfish is under serious threat.

      12. Dave – Have you really, please feel free to post a link to your previous reply?

      13. When you’ve provided the evidence for your lies and slanders, Billy, maybe I’ll be more inclined to do your homework for you.

      14. Dave – I’m confident that you’ve done that already. That’s the reason I am quite happy for others to read your posts and make up their own minds.

      15. Given the total absence of any support for you from anyone on this site the evidence clearly indicates that your confidence is not only misplaced, it is worthless, Billy.

      16. Dave – Don’t worry, I’m sure you can rely on your little acolyte Toffee. 😉

      17. The total absence of support you receive over years, Billy, is sufficient evidence to demonstrate the point.

Not forgetting the evidence from the Yougov poll I posted about earlier.

  2. NEVER trust a policeman to tell the truth, as my old dad used to say.

    He was a policeman….

    1. And here is the BBC website version with police quotes! Judge for yourself who the liars are …

A static rally involving several thousand people took place in Whitehall after police blocked plans to hold a march from Portland Place, near the headquarters of the BBC.

Police said a group of protesters attempted to march from the rally and were stopped a short distance away after breaking through a police line to gather at Trafalgar Square.

In a post on X, external on Saturday, the Met posted a photo of what it described as a group “that forced its way through the police line” being held at the north-west corner of Trafalgar Square.

  3. Starmer’s INABILITY to lead this country is becoming clearer every day: Either

    i) the Police were obeying his orders to falsify accusations of ‘serious criminal action’ by peaceful protestors seeking to commemorate the indiscriminate murder of Palestinian children by a rogue state, or,
ii) they had no such instructions from the Prime Minister or his Government and are instigating this political criminalisation of peaceful protestors themselves.

Either way, Starmer’s hardly appearing to be abreast the situation and determined to rectify it. Instead, he’s probably on a BlackRock Weekend-Retreat and getting his free glasses reglazed with secret state rose-tinted lenses.

    1. “We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians…” – Nelson Mandela

  4. ANYTHING you say to the Police can be used as evidence against you, ‘under caution’ or not.

    1. Correct, Dave.

A well used prosecution trick in court. Plod will blurt out something that he knows the judge will rule inadmissible while ordering the jury to disregard it.

…But what’s been said cannot be unsaid. And the judge isn’t allowed in the jury room.

  5. Does anyone know what time the arrests took place?

When I left Whitehall around 2-2.30pm, things seemed to be winding down and the Trafalgar Square end of Whitehall was quiet. Everyone was further down towards the stage. No police lines stopping you from getting into/out of the Square or around Charing Cross tube. Might have stayed longer if the speakers had been listed somewhere. Owen Jones’s speech was good, I saw later.

Looks like I missed all the fun!

    1. I’ll refer you to my first post on the thread.

      https://skwawkbox.org/2025/01/19/video-proves-met-claim-that-gaza-march-broke-through-police-lines-is-false/#comment-263578

If you want your opinions to hold ANY sort of meaningful legitimacy and relevance (like this so called “better future” you kindly imposed on us who live here) then you know what you must do.

Return to the uk. Pay your taxes here. Subject yourself to the same miserable terms from the same miserable goverment that you imposed on us who ARE here.

But no. Because the weather’s better there isnt it?

And you think you’re worthy of polite discourse?

You’re not worth the steam off my sloppiest shite. Fuck off and die.

  6. Here’s Jonathan Cook with some salient points:

    https://jonathancook.substack.com/p/corbyn-is-being-smeared-again-this

“After Saturday’s events, it is clear that the police’s aim all along was to frustrate the march. The plan was to constantly impose new, unreasonable “conditions” – restrictions intended to underscore to the demonstrators that the right to protest is no longer a foundational democratic right in Britain…..

…..The Met’s deeply racist statement assumes all “Jewish Londoners” are in favour of Israel’s genocide and that all of them find protests against it offensive. In doing so, the police choose to ignore the many thousands of Jews who regularly turn out at the protests to say Israel’s genocide is not being conducted in their name.

The Met’s message to those Jews is this: “No, the slaughter is in your name, whether you like it or not, because we and Israel say it is.” ….

….Freedom of assembly, and the right to demonstrate, are being shredded before our eyes. To insist on these foundational rights being upheld, as Corbyn and McDonnell have now discovered, is to have oneself turned into a pariah, into a “lawbreaker”.

The police have a clear game plan. Letting those who support a genocide decide whether those who oppose it are allowed to express their opposition is a surefire recipe for stirring up tensions, frustrations and anger.

The goal is both to overturn long-cherished rights fundamental to the idea of British democracy and to pitch the protesters into a direct confrontation with the police, and thereby craft a bogus narrative that the demonstrations are violent and criminal, as well as “antisemitic”.”

    —————————————————-
By effectively banning the right to dissent, the Government of Herr Starmer on behalf of a criminal and genocidal oligarchy is intent of making every Crown Subject in the land complicit in their crimes.

    1. Dave – ……..and yet bizarrely you support the authoritarian regimes in Russia, China and Iran. 🙄

      1. SPEAKING FOR MYSELF – (but eagerly awaiting a response from DH) Putin is a v serious neoliberal who is instigating CBDC as we speak (starmer must be jealous as fuck) , and even outdoing ‘democratic’ retards ike Johnson and Starmer again in using pretend health emergencies to institute a form of health tyranny and de facto authoriarianism; Xi Jinping is simply a dictator optimising the ability of his ‘state’ to control commercial activity; Iran, well any system that restricts participation to theists and clerics is not quite “authoritarian”, but something much more regressive.

None of them pass a democratic socialism taste test SteveH

      2. qwertboi – ……and yet bizarrely Dave supports them all. 😔

      3. Says the vehement supporter of authoritarian, nonce-enabling, warmongering, freeloading, carpetbagging, lying, incompetent hypocrites.

Either provide proof to back up your claim or be quiet, you goat-worrying, child-scaring weirdo.

      4. Toffee – Oh FFS grow up, Is this playground nonsense really the best you could manage? 😏

      5. Not my fault if you’ve a problem with the truth.

Unless you want to point out what (and how) I’ve said is wrong…

      6. Oh! And while you’re at it, you can show us all proof of Dave Hansell’s overt support for China, Russia and Iran.

        Your turn…

      7. No, Billy, Stop making things up and slandering people with your lies. Unlike some such as yourself, all I’ve done is stick consistently to a set of principles and values which are, allegedly, unique to Britain and the British.

However, we are all ears to know how you justify supporting genuine neo-Nazis.

      8. Dave – I’m quite happy for others to read your posts and draw their own conclusions, are you?

      9. Again, Billy, which bit of the principle of the right to self defence and the right to protect being applicable to everyone are you having problems with?

Or are you telling us that you subscribe to the racist “Jungle/Garden” philosophy articulated by Josep Borrell on behalf of a Collective West feudal oligarchy with almost a millennium of plunder, mass slaughter, genocide, and imperialism under its belt.

Which, admittedly, would explain your avid support for neo-Nazis.

While we are at it would be useful to remind us just who it is has around 800 military bases around the planet? Is it China? Russia? Iran? Or the USA?

Then we could go through a comparison of how many countries that the US/UK and other European states have invaded, bombed back to the Stone Age, destroyed, and impoverished. To be fair, we will skip the era identified by former US marine general the late Smedley Butler and limit it to the past 80 years since the end of WW2.

And after that we could go through Marlows hierarchy of needs and carry out a comparison of systemic approaches to alleviating poverty and access to the resources necessary to sustain populations rather than the greed of a tiny sociopathic minority.

Alternatively, desisting from drinking the propaganda kool-aid of The Official Narrative (TON) about other countries and the self-interested subjective self-definitions of an out of control oligatchy who have screwed everything up would be a step forward.

      10. Dave – Where did I say that?

As I made clear above “I’m quite happy for others to read your posts and draw their own conclusions, are you?”

      11. “Oh FFS grow up, Is this playground nonsense really the best you could manage?”

Oh dear, Billy. You misunderstand what Toffee is doing here.

Do you not know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

      12. Dave – Really, and the reason I should care is?

        ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      13. Well, Billy, if you can provide the evidence of your baseless slanders and outright lies and smears that I’ve been requesting from you for several years now, I’m sure I’ll not be alone on this site eager to see and review it.

All we’ve had from you so far is enough tumbleweed to solve the energy crisis.

But, if you think you are up to it, go for it. The floors yours.

Though on your sorry record so far no one is holding their breath.

      14. Dave – As I made clear above “I’m quite happy for others to read your posts and draw their own conclusions, why aren’t you?”😕

      15. It’s implicit in your smears and slanders, Billy, along with your failure to provide evidence to substantiate them.

Which everyone here has been witness to.

Its not my posts you should be concerned about, but your own which barely, if ever, receive any positive support.

        Go figure.

      16. Dave – I’m struggling to find a reason why I should care one way or t’other what you and Toffee think.

        ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      17. “Dave – Really, and the reason I should care is?”

Because you are wasting your own time, convincing no one with your flawed arguments and ignorant and arrogant approach.

An approach, which from the consistently negative responses you receive, is having the opposite effect from what is clearly intended.

The only thing you are achieving, Billy – apart from eliciting derision – is persuading everyone on this site that your arguments and values are worthless.

      18. Dave – Oh dear, and there I was thinking that it was your time that I was wasting. 😏

      19. “Dave – I’m struggling to find a reason why I should care one way or t’other what you and Toffee think.”

Let’s not ignore the evidence of not one single other poster on this site gives you the time of day.

What’s it like to be in a gang of one, Billy? Spouting bullshit and bile into the ether day after day, month after month, year after year, and persuading no one. Vaingloriously driving everyone in the opposite direction to what you intend and failing miserably to learn from the experience.

      20. Dave – Nobody is forcing you to respond to my comments or even read them. The choice is entirely yours.

      21. “Dave – Oh dear, and there I was thinking that it was your time that I was wasting.”

        The jokes on you, Billy.

Right now, recovering from my second bout of surgery in ten months with instructions to take it very easy while the hole in my abdomen heals over the next three months, I’ve got all the time in the world to indulge in my favourite pastime of being a foot blister* to numpties such as your self.

*think of the defining characteristic of a foot blister.

      22. “Dave – Nobody is forcing you to respond to my comments or even read them. The choice is entirely yours.”

        That works both ways, Billy.

  7. Try telling that to the generations of immigrants who have chosen to make the UK their home.

Oh, you mean those who forfeited the right to vote in their own motherland’s elections in order to live and pay taxes and share in THIS nation’s fortunes – good or bad, but generally bad, because gutless nonce-excusing cunts like you are somehow still given the opportunity to impose these scbags on is?

And then you think you have the right to lord it?

Get to fuck; you’re nothing but a foreign interloper. An unwelcome aberration.

NO REPRESENTATION WITHOUT TAXATION… AND RESIDENCY.

Bet you’ll be scurrying back here for nhs treatment when your goat-acquired syphilis becomes late-stage, you godawful wrong un.

  8. And still no answer…

…Mind you don’t choke on the splinters, wee fella. That WOULD be a tragedy. 😏

    1. Toffee – An answer to what, I didn’t see anything that warranted a reply?

  9. “I’m quite happy for others to read your posts and draw their own conclusions, are you?”

The number of responses that deride & dismantle Dave’s posts is a shitload closer to zero as the number of post you make that AREN’Tderided &, dismantled.

In fact, you’re the only one to try it.

And you fail at that, too (see this thread) because you’re just not capable or competent.

Just about everyone else on this site has thoroughly owned you at some point or other.

…Including yerself. And while you continue to post, they’ll continue to do so.

But you’ll never learn. So unfortunately, while you’re here it has to continue, ad nauseum, ad infinitum.

      1. A frank admission of your own gobshitery right there ^^^

        So be it.

      2. Toffee – Oh dear is that really your latest big gotcha?

        You’re a joke.

  10. “By all means, hold opinions about domestic situations, but, please, don’t claim any special legitimacy or relevance for them. It won’t wash.”
Really, I wasn’t aware that I had? Could you give us some examples?

    Certainly.

Let’s start with your decree that those of us who were refusing/refused to vote starmer were ‘enabling the tories’.

Or do you deny making that statement – on a myriad of occasions?

I cant wait for your denial.

      1. Toffee – I’m simply expressing my opinion. If you have a problem with that then it is self evidently your problem, not mine.

      2. Toffee – I’m simply expressing my opinion

And qwertboi said: “don’t claim any special legitimacy or relevance for them”

What relevance does the way we vote – here in the uk – hold to you?

You told us we were enabling tories if we voted against smarmerite labour

You don’t reside here. You are not subject to tax here. Therefore, your opinions have NO legitimacy and NO relevance, and you – a self-proclaimed democrat** – should be denied a vote.

        **Yet another of your delusions

      3. And Toffee is presenting objective facts rather than subjective opinions.

        It works both ways.

Yet, you read and respond to his comments constantly. No one is forcing you to do so.

And, to anticipate the very obvious and predictable next substance free one-liner from you, Billy, I’m laid up. It’s below freezing out here on the edge of the Pennines. There’s sod all worth watching on the TV in this cultural desert you keep telling us is the only viable and credible way to live, the economy is tanking, the Government wants to start World War three, energy costs are extortionate, more and more people are relying on foodbanks whilst the Government diverts blood and treasure to a bunch of neo-Nazis and some half wit who claims to be living in on some sun kissed island with year round fine weather and tropical beaches – no names, no pack drill – keeps trying to insist that we’ve never had it so good.

What’s your excuse? No mates to go out with? Why is no one surprised.

  11. (My last post for the night as it looks like I might get a few hours kip…fingers crossed)

I’ll refer you to my first post in the thread, wee gobshite.

If you wantnyour opinions to hold any modicum of relevance and legitimacy, you know what you must do.

Return to the UK. Partake in a generous slice of this “better future “ you were only too willing to impose on us. Pay your taxes here. Have your undeserved vote given the legitimacy you crave for your opinion to actually count by actually residing here.

Then – and ONLY then – MIGHT your constant struggle to grasp the nettle of the day-to-day plight of millions actually hit home and go some way to changing your extremely narrow mind.

    Although, on second thoughts….

  12. Considering, briefly, the issue of designated “bad guys” from The Official Narrative which was brought up earlier on this thread:

Here’s an interesting compare and contrast picture…….

    https://marktaliano.substack.com/p/what-am-i-thinking

……..which says a great deal more than any amount of text – at least for anyone with a functioning brain not taken in by the propaganda narrative.

“The West and its allies just installed an internationally proscribed terrorist organization to replace the elected government of a UN member state. But according to Western idiots Assad is the bad guy.

The West has supported and does support nazism and genocidal ethnic nationalism to depose the elected President of Ukraine, to genocide ethnic Russians in east Ukraine, to try to impose NATO membership despite warnings, to defy all peace efforts, to invade Russia, and to provoke interminable warfare with constant flows of weaponry etc. But according to Western idiots Putin is the bad guy.

Then there’s Gaza. Western-supported Zionists have been committing GENOCIDE there for over a year. It is a continuation of apartheid and settler colonialism all supported in full by the West. But according to Western idiots Palestinians, men, women and children trapped and being mass-murdered, are the bad guys.

We live in dark times of mass idiocy, mass criminality, mass evil.

The idiocy is all fabricated by Western agencies but there is no valid excuse for on-going ignorance and evil.”

Cue the usual cant, hypocrisy, double standards, meaningless slogans/labels and evidence free tumbleweed.

  13. Christ on a bike! Will you guys stop taking SteveH’s bait? He always manages to draw you into a slanging match and the time you then devote to prolonging it gives him an ego-boost and kudos he doesn’t deserve.

    Just ignore the smug fuck.

    1. Dave – I don’t understand how anyone who professes to be a socialist could ever support the likes of Putin and Assad both of whom maintain(ed) themselves in power through fear and oppression. Imprisoning torturing and murdering anybody who apposed them so that they and their acolytes could continue to enrich themselves by stealing their countries resources.

How do you square your support for these evil and corrupt fascist dictators with your ‘socialist principles’?🤔

      1. Once again, helmet… Provide evidence of this alleged ‘support’.

And I’ll take fhe liberty of reminding you that you’re on record as supporting keef.

The same keef that told everyone that he believes israel has the right to deny food, water and power to Gaza.

That’s before we get to fhe indiscriminate murder of civilians, journalists, health workers, aid workers.

Plus the rape and torture of arbitrarily incarcerated prisoners.

None of which keef has condemned. None of which has lessened his assistance to the oppressors

And not only does keef believe in it – but has openly facilitated all of the above.

Reconciling with that, and you have the gall to question others without a shred of evidence to corroborate your claim?

        Get thee to fuck.
