Habitually-lying rogue state puts targets on backs of surviving journalists exposing its war crimes and genocide
After murdering more journalists in tiny Gaza than were killed in the whole of the Second World War or every war and conflict in the twenty-first century so far, Israel’s military has broadcast its intention to murder the last six who survive in the north of Gaza – for revealing its genocide and other war crimes against Palestinian civilians.
Israel has so far killed as many as 200,000 civilians in Gaza, maimed far more and has murdered approaching 200 journalists, many killed at home along with their families, including babies and young children.
Now the ‘Israeli Defence Forces’ (IDF) have posted to their Twitter/X account photos and names of the six journalists, claiming to have uncovered evidence that all six are ‘Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists’ who have ‘spearheaded the propaganda for Hamas at Al Jazeera’, or as the rest of us would put it, reported on genocide:
Israel’s military has lied about bombing hospitals and aid centres, lied about its murder of aid workers, lied about burning refugees to death in their tents, lied about finding ‘Hamas control centres’ under hospitals and schools, lied and lied and lied as it committed mass murder and its lies were amplified by western politicians and ‘mainstream’ media.
Israel has lied about mass rapes and beheaded babies during the 7 October raid, lied about ‘Hamas’ killing 1,200 of its people when in fact Israel’s own military killed many and perhaps most of them itself. It has published ‘recordings’ and videos it claimed were of ‘Hamas operatives’ that it was exposed to have made itself. It has been caught out faking a ‘Hamas ambush’ for propaganda.
Then it banned the UN Secretary General from its territory for not being sufficiently enthusiastic about believing its lies. Now we are supposed to believe its sudden claim to have identified the last journalists exposing its crimes in northern Gaza.
In a statement condemning Israel’s smears, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) reminded the world that Israel smeared another of its journalist victims by claiming that he had a Hamas military ranking at the age of ten:
The Committee to Protect Journalists is aware of accusations made by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) against several journalists in Gaza accusing them of being members of militant groups. Israel has repeatedly made similar unproven claims without producing credible evidence.
After killing Al Jazeera correspondent Ismail Al Ghoul in July, the IDF previously produced a similar document, which contained contradictory information, showing that Al Ghoul, born in 1997, received a Hamas military ranking in 2007 – when he would have been 10 years old.
Hossam Shabat, one of the journalists Israel is targeting, posted to his Twitter account:
Israel’s army has released fabricated dossiers framing us, the last remaining journalists in North Gaza reporting on Israel’s extermination and ethnic-cleansing campaign, as “terrorists”. This blatant and belligerent attempt to transform us, the last witnesses in the north, into killable targets is an assassination threat and obvious attempt to preemptively justify our murder.
We would like to remind everyone that after murdering our colleague Ismail Al Ghoul, Israel released a document that claimed he supposedly received a military ranking on July 1, 2007, when he would have been a 10 year old child. This public threat was made without any evidence and is part of a systematic propaganda campaign to justify the unjustifiable as Israel continues to target civilians in Gaza, including doctors, aid workers, children and us journalists.
We call on our colleagues and media institutions around the world to show their solidarity with us. Despite these dangerous and untrue threats made against us, we remain committed to our profession and will continue to report the facts on the ground as the genocide regretfully continues unabated.
A handful of Israeli journalists who have served or are serving in the IDF have supported the smears.
Israel must not be allowed to get away with blinding the world to the endless atrocities it is committing in Gaza by killing the last journalists able to report on it. Despite Israel’s blatant lies and gangsterism, Keir Starmer and his Foreign Secretary David Lammy, who have colluded in and covered for Israel’s crimes in Gaza, have at the time of writing been silent about Israel’s threat and flagrant breach of international law, just as they have been silent about even the most horrific of its atrocities – as have most UK ‘mainstream’ journalists.

When British soldiers chased Zionist terrorists from the Irgun, Haganah or Lehi into friendly Jewish villages in the 30’s and 40’s, they’d abandon the hunt rather than cause further casualties (State of Terror, Suarez). They had 100,000 troops there, plus planes and armoured vehicles; they did not need to do this, but did.
