Video: Reeves – freezing pensioners and keeping children poor is best time of my political career

Red Tory Chancellor having time of her life

Keir Starmer’s Chancellor Rachel Reeves told Sky News in July that the ‘past three and a half weeks’ has been the best time of her political career, because she had been able to ‘do things rather than just say them’.

What things? During those weeks, she had announced that ten million pensioners will be denied support with their winter heating bills in the middle of a crisis caused by corporate energy price-gouging – she was talking the day after making the announcement – which Labour knows will kill thousands of old people each year. Reeves, who claims thousands in public funds each year for her own heating bills, had also decided to keep around 1.5 million children in grinding poverty by keeping the cruel two-child benefit cap, which costs more to keep than to end:

Reeves had also trailed huge cuts to public services already slashed to the bone under the Tories – plans that are now being leaked to the press by Labour in preparation for the autumn budget. The commitment to more austerity is so complete that Labour is fighting in court to keep the Tories’ own data on the deaths caused by austerity mark one hidden. Independent academic analysis and even the House of Commons Library suggest at least 300,000 avoidable deaths linked to Tory austeritytermed ‘social murder’.

The Sky interview was not a first. After two days in government, Reeves couldn’t stop grinning as she talked about the cuts and privatisation she and her boss were planning. The party has done no impact assessments on the consequences of these cuts and continued deprivations on the poor, disabled and vulnerable.

There is a profound darkness in the soul of the Labour right.

  1. “There is a profound darkness in the soul of the Labour right.”

They have no souls … just an ugly void …
    Repulsive creatures.
… and we know they are a long way from being ‘finished’ with their punishments yet …

    1. Rachel Reeves manifests The Banality of Evil. The fine voters of Leeds West and Pudsey have a lot to answer for.

  2. TS Elliot most aptly describes these creatures and their faux values:

    The Hollow Men
    Mistah Kurtz-he dead
A penny for the Old Guy

    I

    We are the hollow men
    We are the stuffed men
    Leaning together
    Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
    Our dried voices, when
    We whisper together
    Are quiet and meaningless
    As wind in dry grass
Or rats’ feet over broken glass
    In our dry cellar

Shape without form, shade without colour,
    Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

    Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death’s other Kingdom
Remember us-if at all-not as lost
    Violent souls, but only
    As the hollow men
    The stuffed men.

    II

Eyes I dare not meet in dreams
    In death’s dream kingdom
    These do not appear:
    There, the eyes are
    Sunlight on a broken column
    There, is a tree swinging
    And voices are
    In the wind’s singing
    More distant and more solemn
    Than a fading star.

    Let me be no nearer
    In death’s dream kingdom
    Let me also wear
    Such deliberate disguises
    Rat’s coat, crowskin, crossed staves
    In a field
    Behaving as the wind behaves
    No nearer-

    Not that final meeting
    In the twilight kingdom

    III

    This is the dead land
    This is cactus land
    Here the stone images
    Are raised, here they receive
The supplication of a dead man’s hand
Under the twinkle of a fading star.

    Is it like this
    In death’s other kingdom
    Waking alone
At the hour when we are
    Trembling with tenderness
    Lips that would kiss
    Form prayers to broken stone.

    IV

    The eyes are not here
    There are no eyes here
In this valley of dying stars
    In this hollow valley
This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms

In this last of meeting places
    We grope together
    And avoid speech
Gathered on this beach of the tumid river

    Sightless, unless
    The eyes reappear
    As the perpetual star
    Multifoliate rose
    Of death’s twilight kingdom
    The hope only
    Of empty men.

Here we go round the prickly pear
    Prickly pear prickly pear
Here we go round the prickly pear
At five o’clock in the morning.

    Between the idea
    And the reality
    Between the motion
    And the act
    Falls the Shadow
    For Thine is the Kingdom

    Between the conception
    And the creation
    Between the emotion
    And the response
    Falls the Shadow
    Life is very long

    Between the desire
    And the spasm
    Between the potency
    And the existence
    Between the essence
    And the descent
    Falls the Shadow
    For Thine is the Kingdom

    For Thine is
    Life is
    For Thine is the

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

  3. They look like they’re in the throes of sexual gratification and have done 24/7 since entering No 10.
    The utter, sick perverts!

  4. I was one of those repeatedly called ‘Tory enabler’ for refusing to vote Labour, and told “Be patient, see what Starmer does in power then ‘hold his feet to the fire'”.

That hasn’t aged well has it! However, Starmer and Reeves have surprised even me with the depths they have sunk so quickly. Truly disgusting. I hope those who told me the above are having a very large dose of ‘buyer’s remorse’…

    1. Now it is “But you can’t judge them after one month/two months/three months …. shortly to be followed by “after 100 days/six months/one year/two years/just one parliament. Like you I was called a Tory, or someone from Tufton Street, etc BY folk who have now realised just how bad Starmer was all along, and have become as cynical as me!

    2. EXACTLY. Self-blinded by their own hopes. I’m convinced now that such will NEVER learn. They mean well but have never been encouraged to use their own eyes and ears to gather intelligence and make their INDEPENDENT assessments.

      1. They’re completely incapable of independent thought, empathy, intelligence.
They long sold their souls to the Blairite God of Mammon for 30 pieces of silver.

They’ll go down in history as more loathed & despised than Thatcher.

  5. She tells the truth there. She is able to take the WFA from pensioners rather than just promise it as she did TEN years ago. She’s able to be harder on benefit claimants than the Tories rather than just promise it 9 years ago. She’s able to sit in an enormous palace , by grace and favour, as she sees her destiny…. A year or two ago on here I stated that Starmer was the most dangerous person EVER in UK politics. I have not resiled from that opinion for just a second since.

  6. PERFECT MATCH for her GRUBBY SIR KEITH, her LIAR sir KEITH, her HEARTLESS sir keith Starmer.

    EXTRACTS from the guardian:

STARMER “has declared MORE free tickets and gifts than other major party leaders in recent times, with his total now topping £100,000 after recent support for his lifestyle from Labour donor Waheed Alli.”

    NB.⚠️⚠️⚠️ £100000.00 within his first few months⚠️⚠️⚠️

STARMER “has accepted almost 40 sets of free tickets during his time as Labour leader, mostly to football matches but also £4,000 of hospitality at a Taylor Swift concert and £698 of Coldplay tickets in Manchester.”

STARMER “was criticised this week for the scale of gifts given to him by Lord Alli, who paid for work clothing worth £12,000, accommodation valued at more than £20,000 and glasses valued at £2,485 – especially since the donor was temporarily given a pass to No 10 after the election.”

    BRICK-GATE FABRICATOR DISSEMBLER Angela Eagle
“struggled to defend” STARMER’s DECISION “to accept so many freebies when pressed on Times Radio on Tuesday.”

“Asked why” STARMER “shouldn’t buy his own glasses, given his salary, Eagle said: “I’m afraid I’m not responsible for decisions” STARMER “makes.”

STARMER “has had his say on that … next time you interview him, you could ask him yourself. I don’t have an opinion.”

    🤑👺🪰🤑👺🪰🤑👺🪰
Despite the HUGE pension STARMER arranged for himself,… bespoke … bespoke like his £££ multi-thousand £££ suits, it is alleged that Sir Keith has also failed to pay the amount of taxes the rest of us would have to pay on such vast incomes.

    US and THEM.

But Sir Grubby Keith Starmer just can’t resist freebies.
Grabbing, grasping, gobbling everything, EVERY SINGLE FREEBIE he can curl his grubby greedy claws around.

bad Bad BAD news Sir Keith Starmer – Bloody Sucking Parasite🦇🕷️🦂

(Apologies to creatures used above for despoiling their images)

  7. We were told many years ago by the repulsive faux-toerag frankenfield exactly how reeves should act, so this is no surprise.

That reeves has acted with the same sort of relish as dummkopf-schmitt and fester mcvile shows exactly what they’re about.

    Out-torying the tories. With glee.

  8. Her constituency is Leeds West and Pudsey.

How appropriate that it shares a name with Pudsey bear of ‘Children in Need’ fame. The future of BBC’s ‘Children in Need’ is assured thanks to her refusal to lift the two-child benefit cap.

  9. Right Wing Labour in Government but NOT in power.
And it is cheaper to have the WFP as a universal benefit instead of having a bureaucracy to decide who qualifies & who doesn’t, so primary school economics from Ms R.
And Govt knows the names of the 800,000+ pensioners who would qualify for pension credit, the WFP & other help.
All the Govt has to do is press a Computer button, better press this button Starmer than the nuclear button.
Only a Corbyn type programme can rebuild crumbling Britain.
So in terms of the progress of humanity it could be argued Right Wing Labour might well have never existed.

  10. She and starmer could,nt run run a chicken in a brothel never mind the country
