Starmer had a hoot with S*n’s political editor on Thursday

Starmer’s cosiness with Murdoch rag makes (another) mockery of his crocodile tears over Hillsborough

During his leadership election con, Keir Starmer told Labour members in Liverpool that he would not give interviews to the S*n ‘newspaper’ because of its abuse and lies about the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.

Many fell for the scam, failing to spot that he only said that the ban would be for the duration of the party leadership campaign. Since then, he and his red Tory drones have repeatedly written for the far-right, Murdoch-owned rag. Despite this repeated betrayal, Starmer and his party still have the nerve to come to Liverpool this month for Labour’s annual conference, though no doubt he will keep a low profile except inside the security perimeter and give the expected outraged demonstrations against him a wide berth.

And on Thursday, he again showed his contempt for the people of Liverpool – and for the UK’s Muslims maligned by what Merseysiders call ‘the Scum’ – by being photographed in fits of laughter with the rag’s political editor Harry Cole:

Cole’s predecessor notoriously said, despite the paper’s now well-known lies about the people of Liverpool in the aftermath of the Hillsborough deaths, that

I don’t think you can point to a single thing we’ve ever said that was untrue.

One of Starmer’s first acts after being helped into power by the fascist Reform ‘party’ was to kill the ‘Leveson 2’ inquiry into press corruption and hacking, in what was seen as a move to please the paper’s right-wing owner, Rupert Murdoch. He was widely derided for his cynical general election campaign promise to bring in a ‘Hillsborough law’ if elected, because of the hypocrisy of his toadying to the rag that told such foul lies about the victims.

  1. Some STILL hope SIR Starmer will be other than what he SHOWS he is. Their hope blinds them to the obvious.

  2. Off topic, but essential reading.

Here’s the JVL introduction to an article they reposted yesterday:

    Return to Zanuta

Attention has rightly been focussed on Israeli army invasion and destruction of refugee camps in the northern West Bank. However, we must not lose sight of the continued struggle in the South Hebron Hills against some of the most violent settlers.

The residents of village of Zanuta won a rare legal victory and gained permission to return to their homes. Hamdan Ballal Al-Huraini documents their legal campaign and recounts accompanying the villagers. He found that although they were delighted to return they found their homes and property had been vandalised by settlers and the harassment continued.

And here are a couple of passages from it:

“When I arrived in Zanuta, I knelt and kissed the dirt,” Muhammad Al-Samamra, a 45-year-old resident, told +972. “I feel like a child who had lost his way from his mother and only found her after a long period of time. I’ve returned to life again after 10 months — and I will not leave. I will sleep on the soil of my village and lean on its rocks, and I will never abandon it again.”

For 57-year-old Faris Samasara, this was a long-awaited moment. “For now, only the men and boys have returned, and we will see in the coming days how we will bring the women and children safely,” he said. “But today, I will sleep here and watch the sky over my home and count the stars. In the morning, after so long, I will finally see the sun rising in my village. It is an indescribable feeling.”

  3. Should be a caption competition.

“And then the wee gobshite even got his daughter to vote for me by proxy…to give her a better future, he said”

    1. Indeed Toffee. Good call!

“So we told them there was a ÂŁ22 billion fiscal black hole, and then denied the Freedom of Information claim explaining how we came to that number!”

    2. “They’re still buying the gov. finances = maxed-credit card lie, silly buggers…. Bankrupting a country and destroying the NHS should be harder than this….”

  4. It might have been ‘off-topic’ Alan (above), but it triggered my brain to see yet another similarity between the settler-occupationalist mindset of Israel and Starmer. Thanks.

Starmer, Reeves, Streeting, Lammy, Cooper, et al, – and even many of the ‘lobbyists’ who make-up many of the current LINO party MPs, councillors, employees and (soon, if not already) members, – are actually pilgrim-father style Settlers in the Labour party. They are not its ‘product’; they are its Occupiers who have invaded it and need to destroy it.

Their power over it is transient, unreal, presentational and fickle, as c300,000 ‘dearly-departed’ former members and activists attest.

  5. I bet he wasn’t laughing when he heard that Corbyn was re-elected despite an enormous effort to defeat him.

Defeating Corbyn was more important than defeating a Conservative candidate.

  6. At home we have a name for people like him, starts with A and ends in Geige. Won’t say more, it’s a rather rude word.

    1. I need another clue, please Sabine…. your nickname for him is eluding me.

      1. Think of the German word for the English colloqial for ‘bottom’…

I always thought it (Sabine’s term) ended in ‘loch’ rather than ‘geige’, but every day you learn something new.

      2. In English it’s literally ‘arse violin”

(My best guess is it’s something to do with how you play it if you are one) 🫢

  7. “Tom neutron-bomb?? Ha! He only told faiza shaheen that the s*n doesn’t lie; whereas I deselected her at the last minute, and enabled the re-election of ian dummkopf-schmitt!!”
