Israel has murdered the political leader of Hamas, Israel Haniyeh, in a strike on the house where he was staying in Iranian capital Tehran. The assassination on Iranian territory is a clear provocation and an attempt to provoke retaliation that Israel hopes will draw the US into a regional war. Iran has said that it will “make the occupiers regret this cowardly act”. The US has said that it will act to defend Israel if Iran retaliates, which it is entitled to do after more state terrorism by the occupation regime.

Haniyeh was the resistance group’s political leader from 2007 until his death. When informed of the murder of his three sons and three grandchildren during Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, Haniyeh thanked God for them and said that his children’s blood was not more precious than the blood of the many Palestinians murdered by Israel, but that the blood of martyrs would only strengthen the bond of the Palestinian people to their land.

Haniyeh’s murder comes a day after Israel claimed to have killed a senior Hezbollah commander in Beirut. Hezbollah has said that its official survived the airstrike.

Israel has long tried to draw the US into a regional war and has repeatedly spoken against Iran since its genocide in Gaza united much of the world in horror, solidarity, and condemnation of the settler-colonial state and exposed its war crimes against the Palestinians and the lies it routinely uses to justify them – including claims of rape and other atrocities by Palestinians on 7 October last year, when Israel killed an ‘immense’ number of its own citizens, as an excuse for its genocide – and to hide its military failure in Gaza.

  1. Iran should do absolutely fuck all in response. For now. Don’t take the bait! That will enrage Israel no end! Instead, work up a plot to assassinate Netanyahu, which is LONNGG overdue.
But what the hell happened to the Iranians’ security for foreign dignitaries attending the funeral?!

    1. Yet again. They are supposed to have infiltrated the the traitors ages ago yet here we are again. They’d all be safer in Yeman.

  2. They won’t retaliate they will wait for Trump/Harris to see if they get rid of Netanyahu and the Genocidal maniacs in his government post November

    1. true Doug – there’s a very good chance that even other likudist zionist politicians in Israel (e.g. the leader of the Opposition, Yair Lapid ) will remove Netanyahu from office way before Jan next year when Biden’s successor takes over.
+ over 70% of Isreal’s electorate state that they want Netanyahu gone.

  3. Read “Rise and Kill First” by Bergman (who is Jewish) for a lonnnggg history of Israeli assassinations, aimed at divide and rule. The sooner Israeli politicians are jailed or murdered, the better. (Israel only came into being by murdering over 100 British soldiers, so spare me the “terrorism” hypocrisy.)

  4. I hope that Israel gets attacked by all sides and wipes them off the face of the earth

  5. “They Killed the guy they are negotiating with.”

“LARRY JOHNSON: “Every day they are killing dozens of Palestinian children & women, they just murdered two more journalists….the Zionists, they’re just a bunch of murderous thugs; they’re criminals, they need to be stopped…..

INTERVIEWER: It seems there were negotiations going on in Qatar between Hamas and Israel. Why is it now that Israel decides to assassinate the Head of Hamas? Do you understand what’s in their minds? Do they really want to negotiate? What’s their plan for the future?

LARRY JOHNSON: They don’t want to negotiate. They’re not interested in peace. They’re not interested in any kind of solution that gives the Palestinians any kind of power or autonomy.

The Zionists that are behind this, they want them all to die. They want the Palestinians to die. They don’t care if they rape them, they don’t care if they rob them, they don’t care if they kill them, they don’t care if it’s an armed fighter or if it’s a child, a two-year-old toddler. They want them dead.

And Israel sends a very clear message; they killed the guy that they are negotiating with. At this point, I think Hamas has just got to step back and say ‘look, we just can’t be [indeciperable] to negotiations’. Same with Hezbollah.”

As with 404 what is abundantly clear from the record going back for some considerable time (ask the Native Americans) is that the elites of the West are not agreement capable.

Whether it’s Israel, the US, the EU or the UK: in dealing with both their own and other populations across the majority of the world the approach is that of a toddler which has got to have its own way in all respects, all the time and is prepared to kill, murder, torture, impoverish, enslave, cancel, outlaw and, if need be, end all life on the Planet to achieve that result.

Deliberately killing those you are negotiating with is not the approach of anyone who is serious about living together with anyone, anywhere, any time. As Johnson articulates in the above video, the only way to deal with such a mind set is to eliminate those who hold and act on that mind set.
