Exclusive: Corbyn’s Islington North CLP system access suspended by Labour

Local party officers’ access to Labour’s ‘Organise’ campaign platform revoked as party tries to shut down local democracy, say locals

The Labour party has suspended former leader Jeremy Corbyn’s local Labour party in Islington North, but hasn’t bothered to tell local members or elected officers of the ‘CLP’, according to inside sources.

Instead, Labour has revoked officers’ access to the party’s ‘Organise’ campaign system, without telling them why or even that it had been done.

The ‘Organise’ manoeuvre is the latest in a long line of party moves to kill local member democracy to try to secure candidates and outcomes Starmer wants – and exposes yet again the regime’s deep contempt for party members and their rights. Starmer broke Labour’s rules to suspend Corbyn, prompting thousands of current and former party members from all over the UK to say they will travel to London to campaign for Corbyn in the seat at the next election. So far Labour has not named a candidate to stand against him.

  1. Skwawkbox understands from locals that the printer in question prints materials for the Labour party and that the party is aware who made the enquiry

Well, keef does believe he has the right to mete out collective punishment.

Just didn’t have the cojones to let them all know they were all gonna be copping it.

I’d look at it as parole, meself. People of Islington CLP…You know exactly what to do, now. 👍😉

(PS. Did you know that an anagram of ‘organise’ is Ones a rig?)

    1. Collective punishment? M . Isn’t there a land far from here that believes in meting out the same justice/punishment?? Simon says…

    2. To suspend Islington North CLP is a measure of the support Jeremy has in his constituency, and hence a measure of the fear gripping Labour HQ that any candidate they stand against Jeremy will be crushed. This in turn is a measure of the crumbling support for Starmer, which is only buoyed by opposition to this appalling Tory government. The left must make Proportional Representation a key political demand to finally break the duopoly which serves the Establishment.

      1. Brian – .I still have my doubts as to whether Jeremy will stand or not, why would he take the risk?
Even if JC stands and even if he wins who will care about what after all is just one seat. Labour are predicted to win with a very substantial majority.

Please feel free to compare and contrast Keir and Jeremy’s popularity.

Jeremy might have won if he’d enjoyed the same level of popularity that Keir has

  2. I’m guessing the Labour Party felt that they had legitimate concerns that members data was at risk of being used for unauthorised purposes or that its integrity may be compromised.
The Labour Party has a legal responsibility to protect the integrity of members data and to safeguard against it being used for unauthorised purposes. It is common practise in these circumstances for the affected users to be informed after their access is denied to systems.

    1. You’ve got a cheek bringing up the subject of Data Protection.

The two egregious data breeches of Members’ data are still ongoing, in the hands of the Information Commissioner’s Office(ICO), which this Labour Party are refusing to cooperate with, on the matter.

It’s been going on for – nigh on – four years, now. Get in the bin.

      1. I would just observe that the news that the Met are investigating in Croydon drives a coach and horses through the idea that there is any integrity to be found in the upper echelons of the Labour Party.
At the moment it is a vastly overused term………

      2. Ludus57 – Surely the current Police investigation in Croydon is the logical progression from the findings of the Labour Party’s thorough investigation which established that there had been wrongdoing.
Given the findings of the Labour Party’s internal investigation I welcome the Police’s involvement and if the Police find that the law has been broken I will welcome the accused being prosecuted.

      3. It’s not just the upper echelons, ludus.

We’ve seen how they are gerrymandering candidacies elsewhere, so this is nothing new

And before the whopper chimes in with the usual “but, but, but when Corbyn was leader”… We saw what lies were told by even common & garden party members about Paul Davis in my own constituency.

As I’ve said for a long time before now, that party is too far gone to be saved. Anyone considering themselves even soft left ought to get out pdq, and let it stew in its own faeces.

      4. 1933 Germany. Adolf Hitler voted into office on a ‘popular’ vote.

      5. Steve Richards – As was the corrupt fascist Putin yesterday🤔

    2. You mean the party that is being investigated by the MET for voter fraud and data breeches.

    1. Iain – I don’t know whether the CLP was actually suspended but the CLP’s access to the database was restricted until the investigation had been completed and the veracity of the information held had been checked with individual members.

    1. Think someone’s got to your site and is censoring my posts, skwawky. Tried three time to post the same thing (slightly varied each time) and none have gone through.

Might be triggered by the ‘I’ word (descriptive of a nationality in the near east)

      1. But needless to say – so much for smarmerist labour and member’s data protection.

Some people will never get it right.

  3. So I just did a search to see if any of the MSM have covered this, and it doesn’t look as if any of them have. But the following Jewish News article (by Lee Harpin) from Feb 28th came up in the search results:

‘Two candidates battling to stand for Labour against Corbyn’

EXCLUSIVE Former BBC Newsnight presenter and a respected local councillor compete to be party’s candidate in Islington North

Paul Mason, the former BBC Newsnight business editor is understood to have confirmed to Labour chiefs that he wishes to seek selection as the Labour candidate to take on Corbyn in the seat he has represented since 1983.

Neither Mason nor Nargand [the other ‘candidate’] would comment when approached by Jewish News about their decision to stand as possible candidates in the north London seat at the election later this year.

    Now get this next bit:

But friends of Mason confirmed he had “made it clear” to the party that he wished to seek selection as candidate who wished to challenge the politics of division that had become associated with the MP.

Yep, the Nazi scum just lurve turning reality on its head! So having falsly impugned and discredited JC, they then do the same in respect of his supporters:

But others believe in the rough and tough of a battle with Corbyn’s far-left supporters, Mason, who wishes to resist being seen as a “left candidate” has the necessary backbone to stand up to the worst excesses of the former leader’s backers.

Yep, they worked out a way to demonise Jeremy’s supporters/backers, albeit complete and utter B/S! And note how it’s ‘friends’ of Mason’s, and ‘others’, and NOT Mason himself saying these things supposedly! So anyone got any idea what these ‘worst excesses’ would amount to, or any excesses at all? No?. Thought not.

The fascist shite will go on drawing on the A/S falsehoods etc for as long as Jeremy is involved in politics, and probably beyond, and we really have to fix these cnuts once and for all and expose them for the lying cheating deceitful fear-mongering hate-mongering demonising subverters of democracy scum that they are:

    1. Alan. Brilliant work comrade. Let’s see the bastard ‘northern soul’ dance his way to the polls. He’ll get 😍.

      1. This machine sucks. I wrote crushed and that head took its place. How??

      2. Northern Soul? That’s obscure Tamla Motown ‘b’ sides.

    2. Did you see Harriet Harman in the Observer saying that she would have stepped down as an MP earlier but that Labour was in a bad state under Jeremy Corbyn?

      Bloody cheek, I thought.

      1. Her two spells as acting leader were marked by incompetence and shameful political choices.

  4. Why am I not surprised at this?

Mind you the loss of “Organise” is not much of a loss ..

About two years ago the software broke down or maybe the
new system had never worked? We were told we would have
to use old fashioned means to (in my case)
    renew our membership.

I sent a cheque in to renew and it was ignored for months and months
which meant I could not vote for anything during that time.
My local party was sympathetic but could do nothing. It took
Labour HQ seven MONTHS to cash my cheque and I only found out
I had managed to re-join by monthly examination of my bank account.

There was no renewal acknowledgement from HQ but they did send
me some (unwanted) raffle tickets to sell which needless to say I tore up.

I am still in the Labour Party – our local CLP is fantastic .. but are finding
it difficult to fill Committee posts – both Branch and otherwise. They are
enthusiastic about joining Picket lines though!

However I am perfectly sure that our comrades in Islington can manage
by themselves WITHOUT organise – or better I guess.

Come to think of it – Labour HQ doing this has made it easier for Corbyn
to justify standing as an Independent and the MSM is cottoning on ..
I guess this news will by in the Mail soon – or maybe is already?

    Stupid stupid stupid

  5. I was about to post a link to the excellent article Caitlin Johnstone posted yesterday, but in the process discovered that she’s now posted another one:

‘Find Someone Who Loves You Like Israel Loves Attacking Palestinian Hospitals’

The World Health Organization has issued a statement saying that it has recorded 410 Israeli attacks on Gazan healthcare services since October 7, resulting in 685 fatalities, 902 injuries, and damage to 99 healthcare facilities.

As of this writing there is a still-ongoing IDF assault on Al-Shifa Hospital, which according to Israel has resulted in scores of Palestinian deaths and the capture of hundreds of prisoners. This is the fourth time Israel has attacked this particular hospital, which happens to be the largest hospital in Gaza.

Survivors of the assault have told Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor that they repeatedly witnessed groups of prisoners being walked into the hospital morgue by IDF troops, then heard the sound of gunfire, then saw the IDF troops returning without the prisoners……

    https://caityjohnstone.medium.com/find-someone-who-loves-you-like-israel-loves-attacking-palestinian-hospitals-b14d94d3910c

The article she posted yesterday was entitled Without Extensive Narrative Manipulation, None Of This Would Be Consented To

    1. And check out this brilliant must-read article from yesterday by Jonathan Cook. It’s really really long, probably the longest article he’s ever posted, but it’s essential reading:

How the Western media helped build the case for genocide in Gaza

From obscuring the West’s role in starving Gaza to sensationalised accounts of mass rape by Hamas, journalists are playing the role of propagandists, not reporters

      https://www.jonathan-cook.net/2024-03-20/media-genocide-gaza/

PS We’re really fortunate to have practically all the best journalists on the planet on our side – ie the side of truth and justice and integrity

      1. Allan Howard, yep read that. Cook is a superb journalist, one of the best. So much so none of the mainstream rags will use his work.

Did you read the piece he did that outlined the attempts of the British Security Services to employ him when, I think, he worked at the Guardian. They offered to double his salary if he worked for them and wrote propaganda pieces. He told them to get lost.

  6. Can I just mention Croydon East. There’s been plenty of tampering with member’s information.

    1. Wasn’t Croydon E. Joseph o’ Keefe’s former manor?

And speaking of Joseph, he hasn’t been around for a while, hope the arl’ boy’s alright. Proper good stick, him👍

  7. Good Housekeeping
Socialist MP’s get your retaliation in first
Other CLP’s prepare to resign en masse when GE is announced and put up or rally around a single anti Tory candidate

    1. Doug. I proposed this mass action by socialists still in the party many times. I don’t remember ever getting a thumbs up. Party loyalty and a belief that come victorykeef day he will become a socialist. Not gonna happen. We are the opposition to thr right and I just wish that more would recognise this. It’s guerrilla warfare time we need more independents.

      1. alexanderscottish
        We deserve better
It’s getting very interesting, the anti two cheeks of the same arse movement is gathering pace

  8. BN and Co don’t mean to kill and maim civilians in Gaza, and it’s just unfortunate that the hundreds (possibly thousands by now) of 2,000 pound bombs they’ve used have a kill zone of over 1,000 ft in diameter:

Israel ‘not targeting civilians’ in Gaza: Army spokesperson

Israel is not targeting civilians in Gaza, a spokesperson for the Israeli military said Monday.

Jonathan Conricus’s remarks came during a briefing along with Israeli ambassador to the UN Meirav Eilon Shahar at the UN office in Geneva to members of the Association of Accredited Correspondents at the UN (ACANU).

“According to the laws of armed conflict, we are not targeting civilians,” Conricus said. “Casualties in Gaza or civilian causalities are regrettable. They are not the aim of our operations.”

    https://www.aa.com.tr/en/middle-east/israel-not-targeting-civilians-in-gaza-army-spokesperson/3038338#

    Second half below……

    1. ‘Not seen since Vietnam’: Israel dropped hundreds of 2,000-pound bombs on Gaza, analysis shows

In the first month of its war in Gaza, Israel dropped hundreds of massive bombs, many of them capable of killing or wounding people more than 1,000 feet away, analysis by CNN and artificial intelligence company Synthetaic suggests.

Satellite imagery from those early days of the war reveals more than 500 impact craters over 12 meters (40 feet) in diameter, consistent with those left behind by 2,000-pound bombs. Those are four times heavier than the largest bombs the United States dropped on ISIS in Mosul, Iraq, during the war against the extremist group there.

      https://edition.cnn.com/gaza-israel-big-bombs/index.html

As far as I can tell, not one single main-stream news outlet in the UK has covered the number of 2,000 pound bombs Israel has been using and their kill radius etc.

    2. “We are not targeting civilians, we are just a little short-sighted”.

  9. Hopefully JC will win as an independent, we will have at least one Labour MP who wouldn’t violate the trades descriptions act.

      1. qwertboi – You’ve made a mistake, Jones hasn’t resigned from the Guardian he has resigned from the Labour Party.

      2. ta, yeah I read the article, musta been a wishful-thinking typo on my part or foggy brain,
but it would still be appreciated if you adapted your theguardian links to archived versions.

You just add the word ‘DUMP’ before the ‘theguardian bit of the link (see above) and you then access an archived capture of the site instead of the site itself. It hurts the Guardian Media Group by denying it click-revenue.

    1. Jones has left the Labour Party. Whacko. We need to hear about others, of which there are many. Couldn’t read the whole autobiography, wheres he of to? Greens, scale electrixand window pane farms or Workers Party. My money is on the Greens.

      1. ‘wheres he of to?’

Well he’s probably making enough off youtube to have binned the grauniad, doubt he’d have done so otherwise.

Not arsed where he goes. He is, and always will be, a phoney.

    2. Owen Jones hates George Galloway because George is a catholic & has a traditional rather than a progressive p.o.v. on the role of the family & trans-sexuality. Indeed Owen Jones is still employed by the Jeremy Corbyn hating Guardian.

  10. Good article by Owen Jones in many ways and I like the
many good points he made about the Tory trashing of
our welfare state and ignoring of basic humanity both
    here and abroad.

Of course the public are disgusted by what they see on the
TV News every night and appalled at the general shenanigans
in the Tory Party. This has nothing to do with Starmer but
everything do with Boris Johnson among others.

Has anyone seen the Channel 4 program “The Rise
and Fall of Boris Johnson”?*** Going over his history
in politics up to and including GE19 – am not at all
surprised at all at what happened subsequently.

    Not only that but Starmer
helped Johnson delude the UK and obtain the Tory GE19
majority via the former’s pushing the “Second Referendum”
which disgusted those who voted “Leave”.

*** I liked Corbyn’s appearances on that program .. Its
a pity he’s not on mainstream TV more.

    1. JC not on MSM, well certainly not invited to appear on BBC despite being constantly slandered by numerous ‘guests’ on QT. Socialism (via accusations of anti-Semitism) has been totally eliminated from MSM agenda.

  11. Praful Nargand and Paul Mason. Are these two really Labour’s preferred Prospective Parliamentary Candidates to stand for Labour in Jeremy’s seat? It kinda explains why the local CLP HAD to be ‘suspended’.

It’s eerie how the corporate press and BBC are not reporting it – like they don’t report Israel’s genocide and daily assaults in occupied Gaza and the West Bank.

Is it working for them I wonder, I suspect not

  12. Prafu, I take it that s/he is Muslim. I reckon Labour will play that card against Jeremy but I can’t believe that any Muslim still carries a card and pays subs.

    1. Just seen a load of his pics. Down with the kids, I.T, happy cheerful bloke. A smarmerite all the way. Could be a Tory of course. Who knows anymore.

  13. A smarmerite all the way. Could be a Tory of course

No “could be about it, squire.

They’re the same animal. The only difference is taxonomic. Like leopards and panthers** The only difference is the colour.

**Apologies to leopards and panthers everywhere for being compared to ‘rags and smarmerists, but yours was the best and only example came to mind. 😕

  14. Which bit of my comment did you have difficulty understanding?

    MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME

    ….MEEEEEEEEEE ITS ALL ABOUT MEEEEEEE

And when it isn’t it’s about how popular keef is. Except he isn’t party numbers show it. Resignations show it. Electoral turnouts and vote shares show it.

The electorate don’t know who keef is or what he stands for (nor does keef) and the toerags are despised more now than they ever were up to 2019.

Yet again, another example of the delusional keef idolatry, and sneering condescension towards those who know far better..abd actually reside and pay taxes here.

    1. V True. Think-on, the massively-mistrusted Conservative party might very well have more members atm than WEFLabour under Starmer/Reeves/Cooper/ Streeting.

      1. qwertboi – The pair of you quite obviously deserve each other.

      2. Any victory keef achieves won’t be down to him and your idea that he’s popular (they still shrug their shoulders when they show a picture of him & ask who he, is or what hes about on tv vox pops)

It’s because the toerags are beyond shite, and even people who don’t/b> do politics are pissed off with them…

So when keef fails to get the 12m+ votes Corbyn did…

Oh keef MIGHT get a majority (unlikely imo. He’ll be on the phone to the libtard davey by 3am) , but there’ll most definitely be more marginals – of 3k or less – than ever.

If the election comes before the usual one, or if biden’ s reelected, I seriously fear Biden will NEVER wake up again if keef becomes pm, and they meet.

      3. HFM – Corbyn’s problem was that whilst only about ⅕th of the electorate regarded him as some kind of deity a far greater number (⅔) of the electorate didn’t either trust or like him.

      4. ‘Corbyn’s problem was that whilst only about ⅕th of the electorate regarded him as some kind of deity a far greater number (⅔) of the electorate didn’t either trust or like him.’

So our resident paid shill manages to concoct TWO falsehoods in the space of one sentence! He just lurves dreaming up his B/S and posting it on here. According to HIS ‘logic’, the 10% or so who vote LibDem vote for them because they regard the leader of the LibDems as some kind of diety, and the 90% that DON’T, either don’t trust him or don’t like him! Fuck off with your shite! Yeah, in SteveH’s warped reality people only vote for a particular party because they regard the leader as some sort of diety, and either don’t trust or like the leaders of the partys they DON’T vote for.

But the biggest falsehood of all is that he knows damn well that Jeremy was smeared every-which-way the fascists and their media chums could think of from shortly after being elected leader, and especially after closing a 20 point gap in 2017 and coming so close to winning, when the smearing and demonisation was on an almost daily basis, the majority of it in respect of A/S, which in the years prior to Jeremy standing down, SteveH used to defend Jeremy against on this site (when he was pretending he was a JC supporter).

Funny though, isn’t it, that not one of the groups and organisations and individuals accusing Jeremy of antisemitism time and time and time again ever reported him to the police, and we ALL know why of course, including SteveH. In other words, the PTB and their propaganda machine smeared Jeremy and the left-wing members in general so as to subvert democracy, and SteveH plays his fascist game of pretending that they didn’t!

      5. Allan – Or you could just look at the polling figures (both the opinion polls and the actual ballots) and accept what the figures clearly illustrate.
WTF Ed Davey has to do with anything is anybody’s guess, my comment related specifically to the Corbyn phenomena.

      6. That all you’ve got, wee gobshite? The usual done-to-death stock response when you’re on the spot?

Who have you EVER convinced? Why are you still here when your opinion is perpetually, justifiably and demonstrably ridiculed?

Answer that and nothing else, or don’t bother answering at all.

      7. Can’t and won’t answer the question, but you’ve just GOT to have the last word, haven’t you, nondom noncecase?

Well that’s unlucky, because you’re not getting it.

The ONLY thing you’ve convinced people of is your nonsense-ism.

      8. Aww diddums…Complete with the infantile, default wingding response…AGAIN.

…And that’s it. How original. How profound.

Bet you wish you could’ve kept saying that to the victims of the suffering (that the rags have – and keef will continue with) imposed on UK children. Not to mention Palestinian kids.

But you had to do did the frank bough to your ‘safe space’ didn’t you?

Do the locals know your views on casually allowing children to suffer?

Tje excuses you’ve made for it?

I think they should. If I knew where you were, I’d certainly make it so.

      9. Toffee – Oh dear, how desperate are you?😔

What comes next after your rather feeble attempt at gas-lighting, a bit of virtue signalling?😏

      10. Not so desperate that for the fuckteenth time, I’ve had to resort to a default, bingo card answer, instead of addressing any points raised.

Tip Try (ab)using one you might think we’ve forgotten about, you tedious, vacuous nimrod.

  15. I think the point is STeveH – that people will vote labour
not because they approve of Starmer – but because he
in NOT part of the Tory Govt ..

Let us hope he is found out eventually and is replaced with
    someone with integrity .

.. and he will be .. just as Johnson was

    1. Not that Johnson was replaced by someone with integrity ..

(sorry for confusion … duh ..)

  16. ‼️BREAKING NEWS – GAZA – UN SECURITY COUNCIL VOTES FOR AN IMMEDIATE CEASE-FIRE‼️

The UN security council voted to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for the first time since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, after the US dropped a threat to veto, in a significant break with the Israeli government.

The US abstained in a vote for a resolution that “demands an immediate ceasefire for the month of Ramadan”. It also demanded the release of hostages by Hamas, but did not make the ceasefire dependent on hostage release, a linkage the US had previously insisted on.

All other 14 members of the security council voted in favour of the resolution, which was put forward by the 10 elected members, who managed to break a deadlock of more than five months of bloodshed, during which the US on one side and Russia and China on the other, had cast opposing vetoes.

After the vote, the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, cancelled a visit to Washington DC by an Israeli delegation set for early this week, according to Israel’s Channel 12 television. The delegation was due to discuss a planned Israeli offensive on the city of Rafah in Gaza, something the Biden administration opposed.

    1. The UN Security Council on Monday passed a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire for the month of Ramadan, the immediate and unconditional release of hostages and “the urgent need to expand the flow” of aid into Gaza. There were 14 votes in favour with the United States abstaining. Follow live coverage here.
