Israeli move likely to mean even faster starvation for hundreds of thousands
UNRWA, the United Nations relief agency for Palestine, has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The news comes as the assault on UNRWA’s funding intensifies.
A number of nations have, inexcusably, used Israel’s claims – that twelve of the agency’s more than 13,000 employees in Gaza took part in the 7 October raid – as a pretext for cutting off funding to UNRWA despite its central role in providing relief for the two million Palestinians in Gaza who are in starvation because of Israel’s blockade.
And Israeli bank Leumi has today locked all of UNRWA’s accounts, claiming UNRWA is unable to provide sufficient receipts to be able to prove no funds are going to ‘terrorists’. The UN has said it has no alternative mechanism to fund UNRWA if international donations are cut off and a number of nations – including Norway, home of the Nobel Peace Prize – have said they will continue to provide funds. But if UNRWA is unable to access them where it needs them, it will be even more severely hampered.
Norwegian Labour MP Asmund Aukrust told Dagbladet that he had nominated UNRWA,
for its long-term work to provide vital support to Palestine and the region in general.
Israel bombed the relief offices last week of Belgium, another country whose government has committed to funding UNRWA.
The nomination is an apt response to Israel’s smears against UNRWA and the collusion of some western nations, including the US and UK, in the genocide in Gaza. But it will not feed the starving – and despite being officially on trial for genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and ordered by the ICJ to protect Palestinian lives, the Israeli apartheid regime’s murderousness toward the millions of civilian Palestinians in Gaza appears to know no bounds.

In light of the ICJ ruling where it has been deemed plausible that Israel is committing Genocide then it is illegal to export arms to them
As for general trade, I believe most agreements have sanctions built in for breaches of Human Rights
They sink ever deeper. And they show that they are not co-operating with ICJ. And I think that they will refuse to in the Future, ie, throughout he rest of the month.
Should the case not go before the ICC before even more people perish?
Hullo Sabine, would they accept and comply with the ICC? Does international law mean anything to some people? Press on with the economic force. Slow but it hurts or they wouldn’t be so worried.
The following is a Talk TV video with Piers Morgan entitled: “We Are On The BRINK!” Piers Morgan Analyses World War 3 Threat Amid Middle East Conflict, talking to Dennis Prager, a ‘Conservative talk show host’ (who I’ve not come across before) and Cenk Uygur, Young Turks host and Creator (who I have come across just once before). And in the first few minutes Dennis Prager says that he believes ‘there’s a world war now between the West, and those who hate the West’, and shortly afterwards says ‘Western civilisation has been the most decent in human history’. And a bit later on Morgan cites a Wall Street Journal article as saying there were 200 UNRWA employees involved in the October 7th attack, citing an Israeli Intelligence dossier. And at anothe point, and in response to Cenk Uygar, Dennis Prager says something like ‘The idea that Israel wants to starve the people of Gaza is vile’. It’s surreal!:

NB The video was posted one day ago and had over 200k views so far, and Talk TVs youtube channel has 760k subscribers, and rising. If they were honest – which is the LAST thing they are – they would call it Fascist Talk TV!

Quality and Propaganda
On 10 October I called out a viral video as fake. It featured pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Sydney, Australia, with a soundtrack of people appearing to chant “Gas the Jews”. The video not only went viral online, it was featured worldwide by mainstream media.
Finally, 100 days later, an exhaustive investigation by New South Wales police, which involved forensic investigation of many different videos of the incident (including professional video from inter alia Consortium News), has definitively concluded that it did not happen. It was a fake.
Now here is the important point. I saw it was a fake after about twenty seconds, not 100 days. It was an extremely clear and obvious fake. There was not a shadow of a doubt that it was a fake. No serious observer could believe it was genuine. I posted the simple empirical observation immediately on Twitter……
