Independents select Palestinian Leanne Mohamad to stand against Streeting

Mohamad wins democratic vote among Redbridge Community Action Group members

Redbridge Community Action Group (RCAG) has selected local Palestinian woman Leanne Mohamad to stand against arch-Labour right-winger Wes Streeting in Ilford North at the next parliamentary election. Ms Mohamad won selection among three potential candidates, by a vote of RACG members.

One local member, Muhammad Rehan Saeed, said:

We have voted a Palestinian woman to take on Wes Streeting and Labour at the next election in Ilford North. A fitting choice to stand against the genocide supporters.

Labour is in disarray in Redbridge – which covers Ilford North and Ilford South constituencies – with the Independents now the largest opposition group, after two landslide by-election wins and a resignation. Streeting, one of Keir Starmer’s main mouthpieces for his support for Israel’s genocide and other war crimes in Gaza. With neighbouring Tower Hamlets already run by Lutfur Rahman’s Aspire party after a landslide in the last council and mayoral elections and Newham Independents romping home in recent by-elections and scheduled elections, Labour and Streeting, who has been the target of protests and boycotts by outraged locals for his Gaza weaseling, have cause to be worried.

  1. From Douglas James at Dorset Eye:

Does anyone really want five years of Keir Starmer?

The Tories are corrupt, narcissistic, and dangerous. Anyone with an IQ in triple figures knows this. However, does the alternative really have to be this? The following couple of minutes will be representative of five years in power in the UK. Surely this country can do better. It has to.

    1. Exactly. This island should be aiming a lot higher than a fatuous genocidal waffle maker.

    2. Yet more shithousery from the ‘Zionist without qualification’! From Mike Sivier on Vox Political:

Israeli #PuppetStarmer u-turns on recognition of Palestine

Keir Starmer has shown once again that he is nothing more than a puppet of the Israeli government by u-turning on Labour’s vow to recognise Palestine as a state.

He’s now saying Labour won’t do this unless Israel approves it first. This will never happen under the kind of leadership Israel currently has.

  2. Solidarity Leanne!! I hope you win the seat but, even if you fail to win, please ensure that Wes Streeting loses his.
I believe Streeting’s seat after the redrawing of boundaries is a marginal.

    1. Ave Maria. I hope Leanne harnesses the wider dissatisfaction with Labour that already feeds the Redbridge and the Newham Independents. Even at GE2019 Streeting’s majority was only 5,218.

Good Luck Redbridge Community Action Group (RCAG) and Leanne Mohamad.

  3. Victory to Leanne!
    Hope she stops Bleating Streeting.
I understand the Action Group have set up a crowdfunding page, link anyone?
All Power to Leanne & her supporters.

    Not funny anymore

    1. Mmmm, it’s probably just an internal Republican party battle for presidential candidature between Trump and De Santis, Doug.
The danger – or otherwise – of untested. mRNA vaccines is ultimately a question of pathology, and it’s sill too soon to know one way or another.
Had formal testing of the vaccines started when “emergency authorsation” was granted (well, instead of), the tests would still not be finished yet in Jan 2024. It might have picked-up on ‘excess death’ amongst the vaccinated tho’.

    1. ‘Pat McFadden said the resignations showed that Mr Sunak is “too weak to lead his party and too weak to lead the country”.’

As opposed to Keir Starmer? Deceit and fraud makes him a Übermensch super leader?
