‘Tantrum’ Starmer’s refusal to apologise for comments supporting war crimes sees further justified disgust as implosion continues
Keir Starmer’s arrogance and refusal to apologise has caused the implosion of his attempt to mollify Muslim MPs outraged at his support for Israel’s ‘right’ to commit war crimes against Gazan civilians, leading MPs to dismiss the meeting as ‘tokenistic’ and worsening the already fraught situation.
Starmer reportedly refused to apologise for telling LBC Radio listeners that Israel has a ‘right’ to prevent food, water, medical supplies and fuel entering Gaza. The blockade has forced medics to operate without anaesthetic and often without power. Tribune journalist Taj Ali described the outcome of today’s fiasco:
I’m told Keir Starmer told Muslim Labour MPs at a meeting earlier today that he refuses to apologise for his remarks on LBC endorsing the collective punishment of Palestinians. One source: “No movement on calling for a ceasefire. Felt tokenistic and has made matters worse.”
Ali went on to relate Starmer’s craven subservience to the US:
Apparently Starmer told one Muslim Labour MP that the party are waiting for the US to call for a ceasefire before they endorse such a position.
The Starmer regime even asked Parliament to amend the official ‘Hansard’ written record of Parliamentary comments to remove a front-bencher’s reference to a ‘humanitarian ceasefire’.
Starmer’s other attempt to whitewash his complicity in war crimes – a cynical photo-opp at South Wales Islamic Centre – was denounced by the centre as misleading in Labour’s representation of the visit, with the centre’s imam saying he would never have ‘betrayed’ the people of Gaza by appearing with Starmer had he known who Starmer was and what he has said and done.
And the Muslim Association of Britain was withering in its condemnation, copying the style of a Labour attack ad to denounce Starmer’s eagerness for illegal military action:
The group added: ‘Britain deserves better than both of you’.
The Labour Muslim Network – which has previously reported that Muslims have no confidence in Starmer and his Islamophobic faction long before his Gaza monstrousness – published an open letter from more than 150 Muslim councillors warning Starmer of the ‘strength of feeling’ against his support for violence and oppression:
