Red Tory leader tells ITV he didn’t say Israel had the right to cut off Gaza’s water and other life-essential supplies – but the video evidence shows otherwise

‘Labour’ leader Keir Starmer has lied outright to ITV news today about his comments in an interview with LBC. Starmer provoked justified outrage when he told his LBC interviewer that he thought Israel ‘does have that right’, after being asked specifically whether Israel’s ‘right to defend’ itself also meant cutting off water, food and medicines.
Today, he told ITV that he wanted to ‘be clear’ that he didn’t say that and instead only meant a general right to self defence. He went on to claim, laughably, that he had been ‘leading the charge’ for humanitarian assistance to Gaza – when in fact, he began backtracking after the International Centre for Justice for Palestinians said it was going to prosecute any politician who aids and abets war crimes – which cutting off water etc to Gaza emphatically is.
Here are the two clips:
Starmer supported Israel’s ‘right’ to commit war crimes – and when that blew up in his face like an Israeli missile killing hundreds of innocents in a hospital, he tried to cover his tracks. Even if it meant lying outright to camera when the receipts are just a click away.
You can polish a war-crime accomplice but it’s still a war-crime accomplice.
