Dent Coad launches crowdfund for independent Kensington parliamentary bid

Popular former Kensington MP has been asked by locals to stand

Emma Dent Coad, the popular and effective former Kensington MP has launched a crowdfund to raise cash to stand in the seat as an independent in response to appeals from the public.

Ms Dent Coad issued a statement with the crowdfunder:

Thanks to all those who stopped me in the street and asked if I’ll stand up for Kensington. If we can get the funds to run a good campaign I’ll do it.

If not the funds will go to local charities.

Any amount is welcome! And you can be anonymous if you want.

Please circulate far and wide!

As ever, Emma.

Dent Coad was scandalously blocked by the Labour party from standing in the London seat – despite being the first and only Labour MP ever to take it for Labour and winning widespread praise for her efforts on behalf of her constituents in the Grenfell Tower area – for (and this is not a joke, even though it sounds like it) ‘smiling when someone criticised Keir Starmer’ and for participating in an anti-war event. Labour – of course – then seized control of the selection process, trampling on the democracy and wishes of local members to impose a Starmeroid drone as the candidate.

Starmer’s contempt for members and for democracy needs to be challenged. Those who wish to support Ms Dent Coad’s bid can do so here.
