Details for #FreeAssangeNow livestream for those unable to make it in person on Saturday

Update: former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has confirmed he will attend this event, shortly after his return from Washington DC for the pro-Assange ‘Belmarsh Tribunal’ event.

Skwawkbox will be live-streaming ‘Secret Power, Media Freedom and Democracy’ on Saturday 28 January from 4pm, featuring Craig Murray, Stefania Maurizi, Jonathan Cook and Iain Overton and chaired by Deepa Driver. The event will take place at St Pancras New Church opposite London’s Euston Station and those who can get there in person are encouraged to do so, where there will also be a free exhibition of paintings from Guantanamo. Places can be booked, and further information found on the speakers, here.

Those unable to attend in person can watch on YouTube via the link below or alternatively watch on the Skwawkbox Facebook page:

  1. It’s not just to support Julian Assange that we should support this event. Our own freedoms (speech etc) require it. Craig Murray, Stefania Maurizi, Jonathan Cook, Iain Overton Deepa Driver are impressive advocates for Assange and the fair world in which press freedom, freedoms of speech and opinion and a whole raft of basic human rights are possible.

That other world IS possible. It starts with us.

  2. If Julian isn’t vindicated we are all in for a lot worse than the last few years. Remember Mr Craig was imprisoned because he was reporting on an open case involving Alex Salmond. It’s tyranny, simple as that.
