Latest figures from Israeli study show burgeoning antisemitism worldwide with huge increase in UK

A new Israeli study has revealed a dramatic increase in violent antisemitic attacks around the world – with a massive 78% rise in the UK – in the last two years.
At the same time, compared to the immediately preceding period – before Jeremy Corbyn announced he was stepping down as Labour leader – it is clear that reporting of antisemitism in the UK media has fallen sharply.

In February, the Community Security Trust reported that hate incidents and assaults on Jewish people in the UK in 2021 were at the highest level ever – 2,255 incidents – and linked the peak of the attacks to Israeli attacks on Palestinians.
Just today, Tory councillors have been disciplined for a campaign of hate toward a Jewish Labour candidate in London, while in the last few weeks, at least two legal cases have resulted in right-wingers paying damages and apologising to left-wingers they had smeared with antisemitism accusations.
Jeremy Corbyn’s enemies in and outside the Labour party claimed that his leadership was the driver for antisemitism – a claim that never stood up but was gleefully and endlessly amplified by the media. Meanwhile, during the ‘leadership’ of an ‘unequivocally’ pro-Israel right-winger running the party (and running it into the ground), antisemitism has mushroomed and the media have fallen almost silent on the issue and have given the Labour right a free pass for its rampant racism.
The recent lawsuits have put into legal fact the reality that allegations – and reporting – of antisemitism were made for political purposes – and since the political goal of removing Corbyn was achieved the real evil of antisemitism, with the right in toxic control on both sides of Parliament, has burgeoned unfettered.
