Outraged Jewish members accuse Labour of ‘weaponising’ them to kill free speech as party uses ‘safe space’ to threaten CLPs over Corbyn motions

Corbyn issue is no longer a disciplinary matter, so party switches tactics to ban motions and declares solidarity and political debate racist

The SKWAWKBOX has been contacted by numerous Jewish members of the Labour party outraged over the party’s latest tactic to attack free speech by the movement’s ‘rank and file’.

The party has tried – and often failed – to ban members discussing or voting on motions in support of former leader Jeremy Corbyn or against Keir Starmer’s withdrawal of the Labour whip after Corbyn’s suspension was lifted because a right-dominated panel of NEC members were told there were no valid grounds for it.

The initial tactic, during the suspension, was to claim the issue was not ‘competent’ for discussion by local parties (CLPs) because it was a disciplinary issue – but the lifting of the suspension immediately ended that, as a document from the party’s governance department confirmed:

So now the party’s governance department has issued instructions – from which the screenshot above was taken – to regional offices to ban discussions and votes on the basis that it would prevent a ‘safe space’ for Jewish members:

Dear all,

We are aware that there are a lot of questions incoming around what motions may or may not be in order given developments over recent days. To confirm:

· The Labour Party disciplinary case against the former Leader has now concluded.

· However, it has become clear that motions around this issue (including expressions of solidarity, views around the ongoing process in relation to the Parliamentary whip, and/or the power of the General Secretary or the NEC to issue guidance in relation to discussion of this issue) are providing a flashpoint for the expression of views that undermine the Labour Party’s ability to provide a safe and welcoming space for all members, in particular our Jewish members. Therefore all motions which touch on these issues must be ruled out of order.

We are aware that this ruling will be questioned, so the following explanation of the powers exercised by the General Secretary, as well as the rationale for this decision may be helpful:

· The Labour Party’s Code of Conduct: Antisemitism and other forms of racism states (Appendix 9 in the Rule Book): “The Labour Party will ensure the party is a welcoming home to members of all communities, with no place for any prejudice or discrimination based on race, ethnicity or religion.”

· Chapter 1 VIII.3.A tasks the NEC to “to uphold and enforce the constitution, rules and standing orders of the Party and to take any action it deems necessary for such purpose…”

· Chapter 1 VIII.5 states: “All powers of the NEC may be exercised as the NEC deems appropriate through its elected officers, committees, sub-committees, the General Secretary and other national and regional officials and designated representatives appointed by the NEC or the General Secretary. For the avoidance of doubt, it is hereby declared that the NEC shall have the power to delegate its powers to such officers and committees and subcommittees of the NEC and upon such terms as from time to time it shall see fit. Further, it shall be deemed always to have had such power.”

You may wish to remind members that the Party is committed to the implementation in full of the EHRC report, which includes the recommendations to “Continue to build on its new leadership’s statement regarding its failure to deal with antisemitism, and acknowledge its responsibility for not living up to its commitment to zero tolerance of antisemitism” and “Make sure that it has a system and culture that encourages members to challenge inappropriate behaviour and to report antisemitism complaints”.

Finally, as we have previously advised will not hesitate to take appropriate action – including against individual members – where our rules and guidance are not adhered to, or standards of behaviour fall below that which we expect.

We will be reinforcing this message via an email to CLPs in the next day or two. Obviously if you would like any guidance on individual motions you feel may be border line, please feel free to get in touch.

Thanks,

Fraser Welsh
Head of Internal Governance

Labour is officially equating any and all expressions of solidarity with Corbyn or criticism of its political decisions with racism.

This tactic has outraged Jewish members of the party, with one describing it as ‘a heap of ordure’ (sh*t) and others an attack on their free speech. Jewish Voice for Labour, the left-wing Jewish group of Labour members, described it as ‘grossly insulting and inflammatory’ and ‘weaponising’ Jewish concerns for factional purposes:

The latest edict from party HQ, suggesting that Jewish members require a wholesale ban on discussion of anything that touches on the treatment of Jeremy Corbyn in order to feel safe and welcome in the party, is grossly insulting and inflammatory.

Using such a justification to invoke the delegated powers of the General Secretary to act against members who stand up for their right to free expression seems calculated to provoke revolt within the branches and CLPs, once again weaponising the fears and concerns of Jewish people to further Keir Starmer’s campaign against supporters of his predecessor as leader.

But the tactic is already being used to prevent free speech. North-west regional director Andy Smith has written to members of West Derby CLP in Liverpool to block their planned motions:

Dear [redacted],

It has been brought to my attention that a motion has been put forward to West Derby CLP that contradict Labour’s current advice, and rules. Accordingly, I have ruled the motion out of order.

I have taken this decision, under the delegated powers authorised by the NEC as per the rulebook.

This advice supersedes any previous advice which may have been issued in regard to constituency motions.

The Labour Party disciplinary case against the former Leader has now concluded.

However, it has become clear that motions around this issue (including expressions of solidarity, views around the ongoing process in relation to the Parliamentary whip, and/or the power of the General Secretary or the NEC to issue guidance in relation to discussion of this issue) are providing a flashpoint for the expression of views that undermine the Labour Party’s ability to provide a safe and welcoming space for all members, in particular our Jewish members.

Therefore all motions which touch on these issues must be ruled out of order.

The Labour Party’s Code of Conduct: Antisemitism and other forms of racism states (Appendix 9 in the Rule Book): “The Labour Party will ensure the party is a welcoming home to members of all communities, with no place for any prejudice or discrimination based on race, ethnicity or religion.”

Chapter 1 VIII.3.A tasks the NEC to “to uphold and enforce the constitution, rules and standing orders of the Party and to take any action it deems necessary for such purpose…”

Chapter 1 VIII.5 states: “All powers of the NEC may be exercised as the NEC deems appropriate through its elected officers, committees, sub-committees, the General Secretary and other national and regional officials and designated representatives appointed by the NEC or the General Secretary. For the avoidance of doubt, it is hereby declared that the NEC shall have the power to delegate its powers to such officers and committees and subcommittees of the NEC and upon such terms as from time to time it shall see fit. Further, it shall be deemed always to have had such power.”

The Labour Party’s ‘Code of Conduct: Antisemitism and other forms of racism’ rightly states that “the Labour Party will ensure the party is a welcoming home to members of all communities, with no place for any prejudice or discrimination based on race, ethnicity or religion.” The NEC has the power to uphold the rules and standing orders of the Labour Party and to take any action it deems necessary for such purposes. The Rule Book is also clear that such powers can be delegated to, amongst others, the General Secretary.

The Labour Party’ will not hesitate to take appropriate action – including against individual members – where our rules and guidance are not adhered to, or standards of behaviour fall below that which we expect.

Please contact me if I can provide any help or clarification on this matter.

Best wishes

Andy

Merely expressing solidarity or challenging Keir Starmer’s political decision – which the withdrawal of the whip after the conclusion of a disciplinary process unquestionably is – is now racist, in the right-wing Labour party’s world-view.

  1. Meet The Wrong Type of Jew, The Media Doesn’t Want You To Know Exists | Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi

    1. Naomi is one glorious human who has stood up to speak out against the lies several times. She is attacked but she has put herself forward regularly. Naomi, YOU are a HERO to me!!! THANKS
      🌹🌹🌹

  2. Now that legal action is being taken against the party, this is their way of trying to undermine that action in order for them to look as if they’ve legally covered themselves for whatever the result of said action. I believe they know they’ve cocked this up and have instituted a scorched earth policy as their revenge!

    1. Or
They care not a jot about the Labour party, the sooner there is a challenge the better

  3. Who are these regional directors and who gave them the power to act as petty dictators to control and discipline individual CLPs? Having asked the questions, the answers are irrelevant because it is obvious now that the whole structure of the LP, a structure which allowed and contributed to the undermining of Jeremy Corbyn, is rotten and therefore requires demolishing and completely rebuilding with democracy at it’s heart.

  4. people who are educated about atrocities and human rights violations , will be in danger of either not been allowed to talk about what is happening to the Palestinians or they themselves will be labelled as anti semites. This is hurting ordinary Jewish people . They do not want to be associated with what the israeli govt is doing , there are zionists, jews and israelis they are not all the same. .

    1. I would urge not to read the judgment of one judge whos had too much whiskey with his afternoon lunch and clearly shows predictable lack of understanding of the law.Obviously a employer is responsible for their employees especially when that employee may have been instructed in a illegal act by the said employer the Labour party.Even a casual glance at the constitution of the Labour party makes clear that the rule book has been thrown through the window.,so why would anyone feel that data and personal information gathered by judas H and others who trawl this and other sites would not be passed to HQ along with other information freely given by Labour party members.in expectations that the law of data protection applied to the Labour party as it does to all employers.Their are posters on here that are knowingly trying to break the Labour party members,by feeding moral breaking news and distorted information on a regular basis paid for by members subs.on behalf of Nu liebor party.Treat anything from the above parasite with a caution and severe health warning if you wish to remain a member of the democratic socialist Labour party.

      1. Joseph – It is not my fault that you are incapable of dealing with reality.

      2. Does anyone know the laws position if the data is spread for financial gain? We know morality doesn’t have a place here but if it’s sold without permission isn’t it theft?

      3. Whatever your views on ‘SteveH’, I read about this case several days ago, found it quite shocking and feel that whatever the motive, bringing it to the attention of a wider audience can only be a service to all those concerned about the future of the Labour Party? It seems very dismissive to say “I urge you not to read the judgement of one judge who had too much whisky”, which will certainly not be of much comfort Mike Sivier!

    2. SteveH I’ve just read the piece in question and wonder how on earth a party that holds confidential data such as names, addresses, financial records and data that defines one’s personal characteristics is not covered under GDPR? I used to work for a charity and we took such information very seriously, we had levels of authority that meant you could only view certain data and only see other data on a case by case basis.

I still believe that the party is in grave danger if it thinks this judgement gives them a get out clause, but we’ll only know if that’s the case by the party being taken to court?

      1. christopher – It is self evident that Labour were taken to court by Mike Sivier and Labour won. Whether you agree or disagree with the judge who ruled on this case is another matter.

      2. Christopher fox….I would advise you to not feed the troll.his syrupy lies are intended to be de motavating and corrosive to the idea of a democratic socialist movement and loss of hope is his income and he thrives on the misery they cause to decent human beings. He and the knight he represents are the parasites that will and are destroying everything that the working class acheieved over the last century.Sick, sick and even sicker Steve bloody H….!

      3. Joseph – As I said above in response to your earlier outburst it really isn’t my fault that you appear to be incapable of dealing with reality. Censorship accompanied by bluster is seldom a formula for success.

  5. They are running around in ever decreasing circles like headless chickens, shame is they will take the Labour party down with them

  6. As I pointed out in a post two or three weeks ago, all this flagrant and fascistic repression of free speech and targetting of left-wing members/CLPs is happening without the outside world knowing that it’s going on, and the vast majority of the general public are completely oblivious to the fact that it is.

I just did a search re ‘labour party suspends members for passing motion’, and there were just TWO related articles in the MSM, both of them in The Independent (and I scrolled through about fifty or sixty of the results that came up). Needless to say, the WHOLE of the MSM are aware that it’s going on, but they are of course witholding the fact from their readers and viewers and listeners, and if we didn’t know it already – which surely everybody who follows skwawkbox DOES after the past five years – we are living in an elective dictatorship, a Psychopathocracy in actual fact.

    1. And by no means unrelated….. The Canary:

The spycops inquiry protects abusers of women and glosses over police corruption

Soracchi had relationships with three women while he was an undercover police officer. One of the women was Donna Mclean, who met him at an anti-war demonstration in 2002. The inquiry was told:

Within six weeks, Carlo had moved into Donna’s flat. He quickly integrated into her family and told her that he wanted to have a child with her. On New Year’s Eve 2002/2003, he asked her to marry him and she agreed.

The extent to which Soracchi cruelly manipulated Mclean is mindblowing. He pretended that he wanted her child, and proposed to her, yet he was already married to another woman. He played mind games too:

He became very volatile and started distancing himself from her physically and emotionally. At one point he sent a text from Italy saying he was suicidal and was going to kill himself.

      https://www.thecanary.co/opinion/2020/11/23/the-spy-cops-inquiry-protects-abusers-of-women-and-glosses-over-police-corruption/

      1. PS It’s one thing entirely going undercover into potentially very dangerous situations, but to target totally innocent people and use and abuse them like they were nothing is something only psychopaths can do, and they are selected – or apply to do such ‘work’ – precisely because they ARE. To my mind, engineering relationships with women so as to infiltrate a group or an organisation is nothing short of multiple rape.

  7. Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi is a beautiful woman, thank you for posting the video, PW.

I once had the privilege of knowing, and considered a personal friend for a good 20 – 25 years, a first hand survivor of the Making racism Government Official Policy.

In previous articles I have stated that there is no god, but I want it known that I will defend any-and every- one to follow and have an alternative view. I also think we can usually have sensible discussions here. I am always, and ask me where I am going wrong here; all my life if I ever saw a bully I did what I could to stop the bully without resorting to violence and that is all I do when I see a bully, whether in a school playground, or the highest level of government!, heads of state – elected or hereditary by luck of birth of ALL political allegiances; the worse kind of bully is that which seeks harms on indigenous people committed anywhere.

Sorry I could go on but i’d end up writing a novel here, rant over, goodnight

    1. It was no rant Richard, and talking of bullies, as you were, yet again we come back to psychopaths. Psychopaths are inherently sadistic and, as such, they get high on bullying people. It may not have been physical bullying – although he was targeted by someone in a mosque in March of last year (which the MSM played down and described as the ‘egg attack’) – but Jeremy Corbyn has been bullied and hounded by the MSM and the Jewish newspapers and the BoD and JLM and CAA et al relentlessly for most of the past five years, because THAT is what it was. Vilifying and demonising and smearing him ceaselessly, and there was nothing whatsoever he could do about it, and the ‘bullies; knew it, and they enjoyed every single moment of it.

They beat him to a pulp, and STILL haven’t finished with him, and just keep kicking and kicking him despite the fact that – metaphorically speaking – he is down on the ground. I had an experience with a psychopathic bully many years ago….. went for a pee in a pub and there was this guy (in his late twenties) standing over an elderly guy who he had obviously just knocked to the ground and had a bleeding lip, and he was threatening him with more violence, but doing it very coolly, whilst his sidekick looked on. So I kinda took my time in case he started laying into him again, but the psychopath guy obviously picked up on the fact, and I can’t remember exactly what he said, but whilst I was drying my hands he said something to me, and I said something along the lines of how the guy on the floor was elderly, and the next thing he grabbed me by the collar so to speak and put his face right up close to mine, and said something like ‘Do you fancy your chances then’. I didn’t, and he just emanated violence (and his sidekick standing several yards behind him sort of stood there shaking his head from side to side at me, as if to say ‘he’ll beat you to a pulp’).

He eventually let go of me, and he and his sidekick followed me out the door, and as we walked along the hallway that led back into the pub, suddenly he’s all friendly and asking me where I’m from, and then just as we were about to go through the door back into the lounge, he said ‘fuck off’ very nonchalently, and I went back to my table and finished my drink a lot quicker than I otherwise would have done, and my friend – who I of course related what just happened to – and I got out of there, We were away travelling around for a week (in my friends car), and we both realised that this guy was the local hardnut who ‘ruled’ his domain by violence, AND the threat of violence, and that he was psychopathic to the core, and totally evil as such.

      1. Allan you should have nutted him and kicked him in the goolys, but yes I know he could have hurt you…but you’ve got to attempt to fight the good fight Alan.At least he wasnt tooled up has is the norm especially were I came from….We learned early on at ST Joseph’s Catholic school in Bolton that you used everything available to survive in the early 1950s and running away from bullys only helps to encourage them.Fight back hit hard and don’t stand around looking for applause …you can then legg it Alan.

  8. “Chapter 1 VIII.5 states: “All powers of the NEC may be exercised as the NEC deems appropriate through its elected officers, committees, sub-committees, the General Secretary and other national and regional officials and designated representatives appointed by the NEC or the General Secretary. For the avoidance of doubt, it is hereby declared that the NEC shall have the power to delegate its powers to such officers and committees and subcommittees of the NEC and upon such terms as from time to time it shall see fit. Further, it shall be deemed always to have had such power.”
Did the NEC delegate the power to David Evans [General Secretary] to suspend Corbyn, I don’t think so? Did the NEC delegate power to the Governance and Legal Unit to issue such edicts, again I don’t think so?
This is intolerable, they are making the rules up as they go along, what they are in effect saying is any support for that vicious anti-Semite Jeremy Corbyn will also be regarded as Anti-Semitic and be punished accordingly. What a crock.

  9. “no place for any prejudice or discrimination based on race” Try Labour HQ you lying, hypocritical fuckers. All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

If you didn’t get the not so subtle hint before, they’re really rubbing your noses in it now.

A lot of angry people makes Jews safer? Really???

  10. “… and to take any action it deems necessary for such purpose …”

I’d take up arms against unchallengeable authority without democracy – and fight attempts by anyone to assume absolute power – even Labour leaders.
Labour is now apparently delegating powers it doesn’t have (that even Conference doesn’t have) to the kind of minor regional functionaries that Fascists called gauleiters.

It’s a short, slippery slope once they get the taste for power without limit or responsibility.
That both major UK parties should be showing signs of Fascist tendencies is a worry.

    1. Conference? What Conference? The Labour Party has now been suspended.

  11. Those who support Israel and defend its treatment of Palestinians are not Jews but imperialists- it is they who feel threatened by Jeremy Corbyn politics which are also the long established policies of the Labour Party and even the United Nations.
CLPs should be preparing to take action to prevent the imminent and illegal, annexation of the West Bank and urging the Labour Party to put pressure on the government to ensure that this proposed crime not be committed in ‘our names.’

  12. Tell me if I am wrong: I have so far lived in the belief that it is conference that votes on policies and rules, also that appointments like GS get ratified at conference.
What is happening at present in the Labour Party is so wrong – it is 1984 reinacted if not pure dictatorship, totalitarian and chicanery.

In addition I received email today “inviting” me to join the local CLP what’s app group.
Participation dependent on a set of rules, amongst them one that demands that
“All messages must relate to the group’s core purpose, “to hold the local Tories to account and further our campaign locally – internal Labour Party issues are not relevant.”
This is reflective of what is in article above and, to me, not acceptable. In my view this rule is quite poignant as it demands we stick head in sand and ignore what is going on around us. But more importantly so-called internal issues that are in the public domain cannot be discussed.

    1. Given what’s gone before It’s little surprise to learn of national business being ruled out of order and CLP discussions being restricted to local issues.
There seems to be no end to Starmer’s contempt for the democratic process..

That Labour could repeatedly elect leaders so cowardly and so terrified of dissent they try to suppress the free exchange of ideas is unbelievable.
Starmer’s a bad joke – I didn’t rate the other two either so I left before the leadership election – but even I’m embarrassed by that useless soft Mavis.

If and when Conference is ever held again I hope it blows up in his face and the delegates jeer him out of the hall in a shower of brown confetti.

  13. RL Bailey had Jon Lansman as her main supporter in the leadership contest, she has recently said that Corbyn should make a complete apology to the “Jewish community” in order to get the whip back, in my opinion she may have been worse than Starmer, hard to believe, just listen to what she told R Peston at the JLM hustings just before the leadership elections….
Peston “Do you regard it as Anti-Semitic to describe Israel, its policies or the circumstances around its foundation as racist because of their discriminatory impact, is that an Anti-Semitic statement.
    RL Bailey. Yes
Peston went on to berate her by saying it was Corbyn who said that to mocking laughter from the audience.
So the forensic Lawyer and DPP for 5 years Keir Starmer and RLB a solicitor don’t know they have both conflated criticism of Israel with Jews contrary to the IHRA [example 11]. If both these legal hot shots don’t know what they are saying, how do they expect the membership to know?
I propose an independent complaints system with Ruth Smeeth, Louise Ellman with Maria Van Der Zyl [BoD] as Chair
because only people with a Jewish background will know how criticism of Israel [sorry anti-Semitism] hurts them so
    much./S

    1. Just think RLB, poster girl of some of the left, ever heard of cuckoo’s. Thanks for the post Mr. Correctly named Harry Law. Regards

  14. Now is the time to get active in your CLP’s to vote on a direct challenge to dictatorship
Let’s draft up a short response 8n support of JC and against the AS Scam
Our friends at JVL can take care of 2nd part
We then vote it through the CLP’s
Momentum can then coordinate which CLP’s are holding out and we can work on them

  15. Corbyn supporters need not worry, he has the backing of John ‘flip flop’ McDonnell who encapsulates for me the pathetic spinelessness of the Labour Party, in a long interview with the Jewish news the interviewer asked him why Corbyn shared platforms with Anti-Semites “So when we’re talking about sharing a platform with anti-Semites, we’re not talking about people who are just supportive of the Palestinian cause, do you think it might be time for an apology”?

JmD: “You have to look at why he was sharing platforms, it was not to endorse them, it was to try and engage with them”.
There you have it, his friend Corbyn spent the past 30 years of his life traversing the country addressing Palestinian and anti war groups and offering them his support, then in one sentence McDonnell throws his friend under the bus “it was not to endorse them”. With a friend like McDonnell who needs enemies.
My advice to McDonnell is get on your belly and crawl and then ask for forgiveness from the Board of Deputies, it still will not be enough. They will only be happy when Corbyn is destroyed.

    1. True. Enough is never enough, ever. Thought that J McD would be wide awake enough to spot a trap but to then put the boot in. Despicable. Why give the interview in the first place? They are not Labours’ natural allies?

  16. Joseph. I’m still convinced that for all of those people trying to stir up trouble and defend the indefensible, that they will come to realise, they’re the ones that have enabled austerity and are also responsible for this COVID disaster. But unfortunately it’ll be too late as Sir Forensic takes us down the path of right wing fascist dictatorship that he is so willing to accede his power towards in order to become prime minister.

Free speech is no longer allowed in the Labour Party with Keir and his gang handing down judgements on the very people who got him elected in the first place. He believes he’s judge, jury and executioner! We need a revolution in the party to ignore these snakes. In fact I’d imagine that a snakes belly is higher off the ground than those currently running the party. I put forward a motion regarding the CHIS Bill to my branch on Tuesday that the party undermined our human rights by abstaining. We couldn’t vote on it because Sir Forensic and his cronies have stopped all motions being voted on. They just don’t like democracy do they? And people are prepared to defend them! God they must be thick!

  17. What really worries me, is that in 20, 50, 100 years from now, this sordid episode will be use by the antisemites to fuel hatred towards Jews.
History will focus on the role of the BoD, Margaret Hodge, Luciana Berger et all and conclude that it was the “Jews” who demonised a decent man and prevented him for getting into N10.
I will argue that the General Secretary and Keir Starmer too, are engaging in antisemitism. They pretend to be friends of the Jews when in fact they aren’t, they are trying to save their political careers by stating that their censorship is in order to protect Jews. When in fact it could be argue that their manipulation of the truth could actually be planting the seeds that would see an increase in the hatred of Jews in the future.
Why is the MSM so vocal on their opposition to antisemitism isn’t publishing any of this? Is the MSM, institutionally antisemitic by its failure to acknowledge that their are different Jewish voices?

    1. Lot’s of good points in your post. Some people don’t realise what they are releasing to the wild or worse, they do. Thank you. ☮️wobbly

  18. Starmer is in breach of one of the examples listed in the IHRA namely “Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel” i.e. actions taken by the state of Israel being conflated with ‘Jews’ wherever they live or think, a conflation condemned by the IHRA as anti-Semitic since Jews wherever they live in the world are not responsible for actions of the Israeli state. Starmer is an anti-Semite. I know the host of this blog has put in a complaint on this very subject to Labour HQ, he may have to wait a long time for a reply, if ever.

    1. Harry – As I understand it they are postponing dealing with any more cases until the new process is in place. As the existing system that was put in place by the previous administration has been discredited by the EHRC it would seem to be logical and fairer to wait for the new system to be set up first.

      1. Had Corbyn’s office given as its reason for delayed resolution of complaints that they were “waiting for the new system to be set up first” they’d have been excoriated for it.
        Different rules now, right?
Nobody apparently cares that many of those in “the previous administration” fomented many of the accusations and then went on to delay the processing of those same accusations – or that it was all done to destroy Corbyn’s chances of winning elections.

People around here might disrespect you less if you didn’t constantly skirt around everything that went on as if it was “just politics” – but the sewer rats you support went far beyond just politics when they tried to destroy Corbyn with their blatant lies – so you’d better pray the tables are never turned or all the unnecessary deaths since 1997 might be laid at you fuckers’ doors where they belong.

      2. For 1997 please read 2017.
That’s what happens when homicidal tendencies are repressed for thirty years.

      3. David – “Different rules now, right?”

Well yes. It may have escaped your notice but the EHRC has served the Labour Party with an enforcement notice compelling the party to set up a new independent disciplinary system.
So yes the rules have changed because the EHRC have demanded that they must change. You really should try and keep up with current affairs.

      4. Unlike some, I have never based so much as an argument – much less a whole doomed political strategy – on faked-up ‘evidence’, a faked-up investigation and a faked-up report.
Lawyers should never be allowed anywhere near politics.
There is no honour in an adversarial legal system that gives “lies that win cases” 100 times more value than “truths that lose cases.”

      5. David – Like it or not the EHRC is a statutory body that was set up by an act of parliament that granted it investigatory and enforcement powers. The only ones who appear to be running to the lawyers are Corbyn supporters like yourself.

  19. Former Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell has declared that he would be willing to be a witness at a party disciplinary hearing for a ‘Jewish Voice for Labour’ member who was suspended by Labour this week.
Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi, vice-chair of Chingford and Woodford Green Constituency Labour Party (CLP), was suspended alongside chair Gary Lafley after her local party considered a motion ruled “out of order” by the party.
