Sky News ‘forgets’ to mention MPs who voted to keep poor children hungry were Tories. Here is a list of them all

Appalling media bias once more on show as cruel Tories again vote to take food from the mouths of poor children

Sky News omitted to mention an important fact during its coverage of the disgrace in Parliament this evening as Boris Johnson whipped his MPs to vote against a plan to provide free, hot meals for the nation’s poorest children.

Sky tweeted the result, but neglected to mention that the MPs who had voted to keep poor children hungry during school holidays were Tory MPs – and was quickly pulled up by left-wing Labour MP Jon Trickett:

322 Tory MPs were either too callous or too weak to ignore Johnson’s instruction, instead voting – again – to take food out of the mouths of the nation’s most desperately poor kids. A few Tories abstained, but only a handful had the spine and humanity to rebel and vote for the motion to extend free meals in holidays through to next spring.

The five Tory MPs who rebelled

Almost a million and a half children suffer ‘food insecurity’ during school holidays and teachers report that many are too hungry to learn even during term time, with well over 4 million children living in poverty.

Labour’s Angela Rayner was accused earlier today of calling a Tory MP ‘scum’. Based on today’s scandal, at least 322 of them merit that description.

  1. There’s an awful lot of Tory MPs on there who won the Labour red wall constituencies last year

    1. The ‘red wall’ as applied to seats in the NE is a myth, no true Labour voter would ever vote Tory.

If any area could be described as a red wall it is Liverpool.

      1. Asupposed ‘Myth’ that strangely enough was based on the entirely non-mythical multi generations long formerly rock solid Labour seats across the NE, moron troll. Jack T. Unfortunately ten years of the still-very numerous Labour-run councils across the NE supinely carrying out the Tory Austerity programme, and Labour’s gross betrayal of the 2017 promise to ‘respect the result of the EU Referendum’, destroyed that deeply ingrained trust of habitual Labour voters that Labour was ‘their Party’-. So , yes, a lot of lifelong Labour voters then abstained or protest-voted Tory in 2019 – but don’t dismiss their experience-based anger with Labour with your fact-free garbage about the old NE ‘Red Wall ‘ or ‘Labour Heartland’ being a myth, Jack T. Get back to your current usual hobby horses of covid19 denial, and crazed obsessions with ‘Zionists’ ,, and give us all another laugh ! Denying reality seems to be your thing, Jack. Seek medical help.

      2. jpenney, as a Zionist, your determination to try and discredit anyone such as myself who opposes Zionism is obvious, even to the extent of printing lies about them. I have never ever downplayed the danger of Covid, indeed I have questioned the evidence of those who have done.

So jpenney, as you are someone who has denigrated the Labour Party, even when Jeremy Corbyn was Leader because of his criticisms of the racist State of Israel, take your Zionist bile and shove it.

  2. It’s not the Conservatives or Parliament’s own personal money. That money comes from taxes British people paid.
Do the people want to let poor British children starve?

  3. I hope those who voted for these Tories especially former Labour voters in so called Red Wall seats are proud of themselves. How any MP with an iota of decency can justify voting against free meals for hungry children in 21st century Britain is beyond me. Shame on them all and their supporters.

  4. Have the Red Wall voters who switched to voting Tory worked out yet that they f—ed up big time, or are they still in denial.

    1. In the same way you’re in denial of your complicity in the matter by approving of stammer’s shithousery in disregarding multiple warning of the consequences of reneging on the referendum policy and denying people their choice, but going ahead anyway?

A bit like he’s been doing with his ‘whipping’ in parliamentary votes recently? Y’know? Sacking people for not abstaining on a one line whip on an a policy that’s abhorrent and would allow greater state surveillance, and physical harm to go unpunished?

YOU are every bit as responsible for this as the people you drove to vote ‘rag.

  5. Psychopathic cunts, the whole lot of them!

The truly evil are those people that voted tory in the last election!

Everyday I wish Guy Fawkes had been successful and wish that there would be a modern day equivalent (preferably with mr and mrs lizzie windsor present)!

  6. Naturally they are all in for a massive pay rise along with the knights misfits and Her majestic humongous God save the queen parasites.ITs increasingly becoming a Dickensian Novel of greed and criminality , “The House of parliament and Buckingham palace…..!The cakest majority always wins whilst the working class stumble on..

  7. 322 scumbags of the highest order. The lowest of the low. They’ll be telling the youngsters to eat cake next.

    1. They can have their cake and eat it when that chimneys been swept clean and not a moment before

    2. No chance. They are overcome with concern about youth obesity, remember. Bastards! I have no words for Max and the adstainers. All those words in the OED The Bible but nothing truly describes these civil servants. We employ them, we should be able to sack them. The coups started so now begins the culling. ☮️

  8. No doubt many are the same ones who voted down the nurses pay rise in 2017 (14?) then stood up and clapped and cheered when the result of the vote was announced by the speaker. (No doubt they also popped out of their front doors every Thursday evening to clap for the NHS earlier in the year.) Tories are Tories. They can be relied upon to shit on the working class. And sadly the English working class can be relied upon to say thank you and to vote them back in again and again. So, sadly, Scotland has to split off from Tory addicted England and make its own way. And for a significant and growing majority of Scottish people now this day cannot come soon enough.

  9. Dummkopf-Schmitt, claimed £39 for his breakfast

Wanted to spend a maximum of SEVEN PENCE on every school breakfast.

Which makes his breakfast the equivalent of 557 kids’ – or about two whole primary schools’ worth.

Now he thinks they shouldn’t get anything.

Still enjoys heavily subsidised meals in the commons eateries, and heavily subsidised fine ales & wines in the commons’ bars on his paltry commons salary and trifling ‘consultancy’ positions that pay £££hundreds per hour.

But someone’s got to pay for his breakfast.

And they have their “joke” that socialists are “Good with other people’s money”

Well, maybe if they actually stopped hoarding and secreting away the dosh they pilfer and went out and spent some of it… On things that aren’t subsidised to the hilt; there might be a bit more moolah sloshing around the economy…

    1. I thought that I had got way past being shocked by this excuse for a human being’s behaviour, but I was wrong. Taxpayers pay £39 for a bloody breakfast for him, he wants to feed children on 7p, now doesn’t want to feed them at all. And if my memory serves me well, let’s not forget this **** said he could live on £53 a week, the then unemployment benefit. Tory Voters of Chingford & Woodford Green hold your bloody heads in shame.

      1. Tory Voters of Chingford & Woodford Green hold your bloody heads in shame.

They’ve always had a strong propensity to vote for the extreme right of the ‘rag party; they’ve generally voted for those who think nothing of the suffering of their fellow countrymen so the MPs themselves can live high on the hog. The seat’s been held by churchill and tebbit in the past; now dummkopf-schmitt.

The only positive thing is that the constituents are slowly but surely learning,; dummkopf-schmitt’s majority has gradually come down from the tens of thousands to just over 1200 at the last election IIRC.

But the damage has been, and is still being done by the fraud. I’d say this is his ‘scorched earth’ policy because it looks like he’ll be out next time around, but he’s always been a cnut.

  10. Christ!

For £39 you could get everything on the members tea room breakfast menu and probably get change from it.

Dafuq did dummkopf get through to have spent that much?

  11. I notice Mark Francois voted by proxy. Why was that? Francois not coming into Parliament, can’t connect to Zoom? Why so shy? Anyone would think he was hiding or on bail.

    1. Yes very quiet indeed. Which is all to the good of course, but was it perhaps embarrassment about his letter to Barnier? No, they don’t do embarrassment do they. Ah, I’ll bet he’s out on manoeuvres with the TA catering corps in preparation for when the army has to be brought in to feed England on turnips.

      1. And if and when things start picking up for Welsh transport, the sharks wil be circling again.

  12. quelle surprise, it’s what tories have done, continue to do and plan to do more in the future. ‘the people’ voted, or more likely didn’t, for every suffering they will whine about but will nevertheless repeat. they walk on post empire cinders waving flags and singing the anthem – brave and proud.

  13. Thanks for the link rob – first food-related piece I ever read all the way through.
    Admirable young woman.
If I was the stalker type she’d be my first choice, which I’m confident she’d be pleased to read…
