The Italian government is considering putting the whole country into national quarantine in response to the coronavirus epidemic, according to an ABC News journalist in the country.
James Longman reported the development and its scale in the last few minutes:
The UK is approximately two weeks behind Italy in its number of cases and rate of spread and so far has taken none of Italy’s strict measures to slow the epidemic – on the contrary, it is not even screening travellers returning from northern Italian hotspots – suggesting that the UK may take less time to catch up.
