New PPC has genuine left track record and blew away Rother Valley members in spite of graceless behaviour by local right
Left-wing Orgreave campaigner Sophie Wilson sailed home in last night’s Rother Valley hustings, winning by a clear majority in the first round of voting.
The results were:

Enright 50
Hume 12
Farley 6
One local member told the SKWAWKBOX:
The right packed the hall with [current MP] Barron’s cronies and councillors. It was the other ordinary members that came to demand change – the room erupted when they announced. Sophie even won over some of the right to vote for her, she was that inspirational.
The Barron gang walked out without even offering congratulations, but Sophie will be one to watch – Labour’s Mhairi Black.

James Murray has been selected as PPC for the safe Labour seat of Ealing North where Steve Pound is retiring.
Murray supported by the JC and Unite and a known advocate of left-wing housing policy, Murray was expected to win the ballot and did so on the first round of voting.

Labour’s Mhairi Black? I bloody well hope not, Black’s reputation in Scotland is not that good. Quite possible that she won’t be re-elected.
If ever anyone deserved to be a Labour PPC its this woman – I hope she is in parliament soon. We need real labour MPs like Sophie Wilson not plastic ones of which unfortunately we have more than our fair share.
Good result now she needs to kick some sh55t up the right wing ,excuse my spellchecker malfunction.!
Rother Valley has been badly represented for too long by Cllrs and Baron Barron.
He sold out the miners and community for Kinnocks and thatchers shilling and then allegedly ripped off taxpayer’s with flipping his homes and expense racket.
Despite his family and cronies who were on council he claimed he knew nowt about CSE and his constituents not being safeguarded. Incompetant at best.
Did he get a £ million like the Kinnocks. Being an MP can be most rewarding!
