Rother Valley MP Kevin Barron to stand down at next election

Rother Valley Labour MP Kevin Barron has become the second to indicate that he will not stand again at the next general election, after the party asked MPs to confirm their intentions as the first phase of the new ‘trigger‘ process for MP selections.

Barron emailed local members today:

Poplar and Limehouse MP Jim Fitzpatrick made a similar announcement last week. Barron, from a strongly leave constituency, has consistently voted against attempts to force through a new Brexit referendum.
