Theresa May emerged, badly dented, from the Tory confidence vote last night to spout the same, worn soundbites she has used – and ignored – since she became Prime Minister. Even the BBC had to admit that it was the same old same old.
But Tory grandee and former Deputy PM Michael Heseltine went much further. He told the BBC that May is delusional – and then, even more damningly, that there is no ‘element of truth‘ in the slogans she spouts meaninglessly to the nation:

Heseltine is a remainer. He doesn’t have the agenda or axe to grind of the Tory party’s right-wing Brexit ‘ultras’ – and even he thinks May is being untruthful to the public every time she opens her mouth.
Untrusted by remainers, untrusted by leavers, seemingly unable to tell the truth even to herself. ‘Lame duck’ doesn’t go far enough – May is so awful that she merits the coining of some new phrase.
And according to the party she leads, last night, she’s the best they’ve got.

This is a truly shocking public indictment of May and also the civil service, advisors and speech writers feeding into what she spouts to the public.
I’m sure our ‘fearless and independent’ public service and corporate media (cough, splutter’) will be on the case.

As Boris said May’s cosmetic words, her words no contents but repeat meaningless words, more employment and for the nation. All lies. If really so why people against her. She duped DUP and the Parliament by delaying delaying with canny plots. DUP have to be careful that she would dupe them again that is her habit, ruthless. She would say anything to get through her own way. It is not democracy but cunny dictatorial.

…….but of course leaving EU would also put a dent in elite Russell Group’s ability to make money from foreign students, rather than educate British students. Perhaps they could be encouraged to address the lack of social mobility among the poor & offer ‘positive discrimination programmes’ for the working class. Someone has to help fund the £450,000 average salary for Vice Chancellors.
That photo of May really inspires confidence.
It is worth noting that everytime May mentions her commitment to stand down before the next election she is careful to associate that commitment with the 2022 election. She has made no commitment whatsoever to stand down in the event of an early election.
