Video: Tory MP BOASTS that a new homeless centre opened in his constituency

Tory MP Richard Graham thinks a new homeless centre is cause for boasting

Yesterday’s Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) has largely been noticed for a claim by Theresa May that a leading economist advising the Labour leadership had said that the numbers in the party’s 2017 general election manifesto didn’t add up. The claim was a lie, a fact reinforced subsequently by the attempts of the Tories’ official Twitter account to defend it.

But another jaw-dropping example of Tory arrogance took place just after Jeremy Corbyn finished besting May yet again.

Tory MP Richard Graham stood up and boasted about a new centre for homeless people being set up in his constituencyy – as a sign of the supposedly great job the Tories were doing:

If Graham wanted to claim that John McDonnell’s comments about Gloucester suffering under Tory austerity were false, pointing out that Gloucester needed a new centre for the homeless was hardly the way to do it.

SKWAWKBOX comment:

To the arrogant Tory mindset, this kind of callous, arrogant nonsense apparently makes sense. To the rest of us, it’s evidence of the ingrained inhumanity of the worldview of a party that has inflicted misery on millions – and seems determined to inflict more and faster.

  1. And we should be shocked, why, exactly?

rees mogg has already told us the rise in foodbank use is ‘uplifting’

(I’ll try to find the link to the photos of tory mp’s with huge grins on their grids when opening foodbanks and post it on here).

    1. and a interesting comment about rees mogg moving all his money to Dublin in the house of lords debate today, sounds hypocritical want out of the eu but moving all my money there, perhaps the eu need to look at super tax for outside investments like this!!!!

  2. I do so hope he is actually volunteering to work in that centre like a couple of mp’s I know do so that he can actually experience first hand the mess that his party and it’s policies has caused,

  3. The Tory Barbarian legal theives of working peoples labour would be quite funny if it wasn’t so heartbreaking to see the poverty all around us.
The perpetrators boasting they are providing sticking plasters!
The most down and out citizen in my opinion is a better human being than ipolitically thick Tory morons will ever be in their whole lives and the poof will have lived a more useful life.
Austerity was and is only for working people – the Tories with initially the Lib Dimwits gave tax cuts to millionaires, big business corporations, private landlords with multiple properties, £145m tax cuts to hedge funds (who gave £50m to the Tories – legalised corruption?) so protected their class but re their contribution to the progress of humanity the rich and powerful Right Wing Barbarians may as well have never existed.
Time for the age of the many and not the few X

  4. People I know who live in Gloucester haven’t been able to find this homeless centre, so not sure if it even exists.

  5. We’re all in this together? I’ve always found it strange that ‘ TV Soaps’, written by comfortable bourgeois writers to educate us about the lives of the working classes, will only address identity politics & ignore all other social injustices. Where are the food banks? Where are the Trade Unions? Show us what austerity does to the poor? Where are the intelligent debates about current affairs that take place in pubs? Where are the homeless? We are not all violent gangsters; I have been to the theatre & have an ‘O’ Level in Geography.

It won’t have escaped your attention, I’m sure, that the main proponents of Brexit have been millionaires who won’t be affected in the least by its outcome, so can afford to gamble with our futures in the interests of their masters in the ruling elite.

A ruling elite who, wherever you look, are doing their damnedest to bring on a severe reduction of the world population as quickly as possible, whether by nuclear war or environmental/economic/social collapse.

That’s the best (only?) reason to oppose Brexit.
