MSM misreporting Onasanya case – only one charge, not two

The ‘MSM’ (mainstream media) have been reporting that Peterborough Labour MP Fiona Onasanya faced two counts of perverting the course of justice in relation to disputed driving penalty points.

In fact, only one charge was filed, as confirmed by Cambridgeshire police:


The first hearing of the case takes place from 2pm today.

Shoddy MSM reporting that could easily be considered ‘fake news’. If the press can get such a basic fact wrong, small wonder that public confidence has collapsed and that the UK’s press outlets are ranked number 33 out of 33 European countries for public trust – and by a considerable distance:

  1. It’s not “Fake News” .For years The Guardian has earned a reputation for its sloppy editing, goof up’s , mis-reporting, typographical errors and spelling mistakes. It’s simply mantaining its usual standard as a generally unreliable newspaper.
