Yesterday the SKWAWKBOX revealed that Home Secretary Sajid Javid’s ‘meet the people’ event in the poverty-hit north-east was attended by Bentley- and Range Rover-owners and Tory councillors.
Javid was shown, in a Facebook post by a Northumberland Tory councillor, in front of parked premium vehicles as he delivered a speech to a seemingly sparse audience shortly after a PR-stunt Cabinet meeting in Gateshead.
Today, the SKWAWKBOX has learned that the councillor, Nick Oliver, has deleted the incriminating image from his post on the ‘Northumberland Conservatives’ Facebook page, as the post’s edit history shows:
Apparently yesterday’s SKWAWKBOX exposé has enjoyed quite a bit of ‘traction’ around the region and it seems Cllr Oliver now considers the image something of an embarrassment to the Tory party.
But don’t worry, here it is in all its glory:
It speaks volumes about the state of the Tory party that in the image above it’s the cars that are considered an embarrassment.
Still, nice to know that the Tories are paying attention…
