Media Fund expands with six new independent media partners

The Media Fund now supports 45 media partners, including legacy independent media organisations such as The New Internationalist and Open Democracy.

The Media Fund is a member-led cooperative that supports independent media organisations through crowd-powered funding. The Media Fund also supports and represents the independent media as a sector, through advocacy and events such as the Independent Media Awards, which will launch in December 2018.

Media Fund Chairman and union activist Daniel Lewis said:

Today’s announcement shows the sector is seeing healthy expansion and increasingly able to support more organisations, bringing quality news and analysis to people at a time when the reliability of both traditional print media and social media are both being questioned.
