Hot on the heels of the welcome by MPs and others for the announcement by Unite’s Jennie Formby that she will apply for the position of Labour Party General Secretary, a number of prominent pro-Corbyn accounts and organisations are also set to endorse her candidacy.
Red Labour had already announced their endorsement and Labour Left did so just minutes ago:
.@JennieUnite has announced that she is a candidate for General Secretary of the Labour Party. We know Jennie well & she is a very good socialist. Our organisers have voted by an overwhelming majority to endorse her candidacy today. So, we’re proud to say, we’re backing #JenSec. pic.twitter.com/ws9Ejud4pL

The successful candidate will be recommended to this autumn’s party conference by Labour’s National Executive Committee (NEC), but there seems to be a groundswell among the pro-Corbyn membership and their organisations in favour of the Unite regional Secretary, who currently represents the union on the NEC but would step down from that position if she becomes General Secretary.
