Dockworkers in Liverpool, around Europe will block Israeli arms in action against war

Dockworkers and other anti-Zionists and peace activists will hold a day of action this Friday, in Liverpool and other port cities around Europe, against the UK’s continuing support for genocidal Israel, the EU’s push for war on Russia, Iran and elsewhere and states’ war on essential social support and public services to make the warmongers rich.

A large crowd gathered at the Royal Albert Dock to support the International Day of Action on 30 October 2026, advocating against militarism and for peace and dignity.

Workers in more than 100 cities will work together to block the shipments of weapons and components, beginning on Friday 30 October.

‘Not their children, not ours’

In a statement promoting the event, the Liverpool organisers said:

Have no doubt: the UK is preparing for war. As a country preparations are underway. We are up to our necks in genocide already so don’t think it won’t happen.

Ordinary working people are paying the price as the money for our services NHS Education etc are cut to the bone. Join the international movement this Friday as dock workers across Europe and beyond call for an end to militarism, genocide, war and conscription.

Let’s stand together to give that message to our government. No to warfare yes to welfare. Workers won’t work for war – no to killing – not their children not our children.

The UK and EU are already participating in Ukraine’s attacks on Russia and trying to manufacture consent for all-out war, including conscription. 27,000 Ukrainians a month are being killed in the pointless war that could have been stopped a few weeks after it began in 2022. The warmongers must be resisted and defeated.
