‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ receives 23-minute standing ovation at Venice Film Festival premiere

The Voice of Hind Rajab, the new film about the 5yo Palestinian girl murdered with her family in their car by an Israeli tank in Gaza, was given a 23-minute standing ovation by its audience of over a thousand people after its premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Wednesday. The audience included actors Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara, who signed on as producers of the film last week.

The film, about Hind’s last moments and Israel’s slaughter of her and her family using 355 machine gun bullets fired at close range by a tank, left most of the audience and many of the journalists watching in tears, along with the film’s director and cast, who all wore black for the event. Shouts of “Free Palestine” also peppered the ovation

  1. I love the way he got that in before seemlessly moving on talk about the film without missing a beat. What a pro!
